First off I want to keep this thread civil and flameless.

Now to the point:

Why is it that certain members got 3 year mini's early because they are in a certain guild that has certain people that are certainly important to guild wars? I dont get how being in a guild with devs earns you the right to get three year mini pets early and it is quite unfair as they can get much more money for the pets then everyone else.

Please clarify what makes these certain people so special.

In a perfect world, everyone would get a fair crack at everything at the same time. While GW might not be perfect, that does not stop me from still enjoying it. Minipets are not the end of the world. Nor is having a outpost named after your guild or having a NPC named after yourself. Just accept the fact and move on I suppose.

MMS is right, getting the pets a a month after the release is a HUGE difference for players who didn't buy GW on the release date, but not as big as the difference between getting on the ACTUAL 3rd year birthday, or getting it several days early. It's a bit of a joke to be honest, that you can get free cash just for being in a certain guild. I mean, sure, if it was the devs themselves getting them early, that's explainable. But not regular users.

Getting an in-game advantage from an Anet Employee is one of the dumbest things ever. How can people take a game seriously when favoritism by the company is being almost openly displayed.

ibtl.

I guess it's just a case of who you know, and who you blow.

I know I sure would like to beat the rat-race in the sale market, but like the rest...I don't blow, so I wait.

Uhh, don't then? Idk, I'd just rather have fun than worry about virtual pixels in a virtual world. Of course, I'd say differently if some sort of RMT was going on but I don't hear anyone mentioning that now...

Reporting a problem like this only to Anet would be like discovering the assailant in a murder case and then telling the murderer you know he did it. The community should know, not necessarily just Anet.

It's really nice to get a mini early JUST to end up selling it for lots of gold.

I have to thank everyone who does that...

the guy that got the pet that was selling it in high end was not a dev.

yeah it's hardly almost. It's pretty blatant. People in ZoS get their pets in advance. They have a built-in free income service: get AP to customize an event item, sell it on high-end. They compete in cash money tournaments where the rules specifically state that employees may not compete, yet they do.

This is who we patronize.

These are valid concerns which deal with the integrity of the game. Out of principal, Anet management should take action on this (such improprieties in different professions often lead to termination, in my profession it results in federal prosecution).

Reminds me of the whole FoH debacle from WoW...

(There has only been one PvE -> PvP server transfer available in the history of WoW, and it was from the server Hyjal, where the guild FoH was playing, a guild famous for having a Blizzard employee)

Ya, Eve became really popular when devs were caught helping their corp to the detriment of others. [/sarcasm]

Really leaves a good taste in the mouths of the others.
