Early 3 yr mini release

@ekelon
I'm sure we'd see a lot more for sale if it were ALL beta's that got them.

I say kudos to White Wasabi for being smart enough to be in a guild with actual perks. We're all fools for being in useless guilds full of idiots. |

They didn't get the minipets early because of account age. Gaile has said before that everyone's account age was reset, and that they all started from the same date. So he couldn't have had an older account.

Just leave now, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Anyone that preordered had a "beta" account. For the beta weekends, I can't remember, but did that include a headstart like a couple other preorders have? I didn't buy the game until a month after it came out, but I preordered it and participated in most of the beta weekends. And my account says 35 months exactly like it should.

Keeping this on-topic would be much appreciated. I'm pretty interested in hearing the reasoning behind the whole early minipet deal from a ZoS member or Anet dev.

Okay, on subject since this should not be a personal flame war thread.
No I agree with Dome. It is not fair that some ZoS members got their presents a bit early. Sure they may not sell them till others get it, and it may have no affect at all. But this is just another show of ANet bending the rules like they did during the last MAT's since Andrew Patrick was in [rawr] to help with the Rawr Cup. It happens, it's not a big deal BUT it is not fair and should not be allowed. ANet should know better.

agree with DE. Whatever your take on this issue is, it warrants an explanation. I want to know if Anet condones early 3rd bday pets, and other exclusive income sources that are off-limits to us common folk. If they don't condone it, I would like to know how it happened.

I kind of skimmed through the topic, but here's a thought; what if they didn't get their minipets early though foul play, but it was just simply a fault in the GW system?
I don't know how the years are counted, but I got my current Guild Wars account (and thusly started my oldest character) on April 20th 2006. So it would follow that I would get my two year mini on April 20th, right? Well, imagine my surprise when I logged in as that character on April 18th this past weekend and discovered a two year B-day present in my characters inventory.
It might not be the devs playing favoritism, but just the GW computer system miscounting 1,096 days, counting this past February's leap day of course.

It's not a huge deal, but it was still clearly the wrong thing to do, and a-net should have known better.

I don't care, if some special beta testers created their characters before the official early access was opened and who now get their minis a day before everybody else. It's a little unfortunate, that they are allowed to sell them. (Are they?)
What i think is frightening... the spider seller wears FoW armor + chaos gloves + dread mask.

Please Anet, for GW2 get some other beta testers, who don't think that grind is good.

If this is the case then fine, but it would be nice if ANet would come in and explain themselves. Until then, all this is speculation. But that could be it as well, the GW system could miscount the days, it's a possibility. But some ANet confirmation would be nice.

even if the age system is/isn't fouled up, doesn't it still make sense that out of all of us, devs should have the oldest characters? right?
and yes, I know that wasabi isn't a dev. that is what i'm getting at.
/edit
I wonder if he's daring enough to post an pic with /age, un-Photoshopped.

Arena Net has ALWAYS favored employee based guilds.
The Spearmen were favored due to Linsey Murdock -> http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User:Linsey_Murdock
Zos is lead by Andrew Patrock, one of Jeff Strain's best friends, of course he is going to get special treatment.

Answer : what THEY want to....the latest weapons are no better than numerous others you can get, all the armour is the same.... so theres nothing "better" to spend the ectos etc on...
Oh and on topic, yes it is disgusting that certain players get the benefits like this, did they pay extra for the game? NO. It has also happened with new titles being leaked to certain people first, but of course, its swept under the carpet too. /disgust

info much appreciated.

Report it to NC-Soft ( NOT A-NET) and if possible submit names and Guild so they know what Dev's are involved in it.
It is well over due that something is done about the way some Dev's missuse the powers they have.

So the next question is... Did they get random ones? Or did they all get rare ones?

This is what is posted on the Guild Wars site when they announced the The Guild Wars Third Anniversary Celebration. I took this to mean that no matter when the char. was created (before the 28th) you waited until the 28th to receive it.
Monday, April 28
Starting at 12:01 AM Pacific, third year miniatures will become available. (Remember that birthday gifts are given all year round, so you will receive your gift on the personal birthday (creation date) of each character on your account.)

this has got to be some of the funniest shit ever.

Target person you want to give minipet or present to.
/createitem <minipet ID number or third year gift ID>
People are pretty naive if they do not believe GMs have commands on a live server.

Personally, I think it's the latter.
I don't understand why someone in a guild with Andrew Patrick would receive special perks like this. If Andrew himself had the mini pet, I'd understand. He's an ANet employee. But when a normal player like everyone on this forum gets a perk like this, it's just dumb. What makes him more special than anyone else? That's all I want to know. I could care less that he got an item before ANet stated they were to be released, I just want to know why he's more special than anyone else.
I'd also like Andre Patrick to answer the question, but I heard he doesn't want to address this issue. Meh, nothing new with that.
MMSDome
I was pm'd in game by a member of ZoS and i was told that the mini pet is Andrew Patricks and was given to White Wasabi to sell on guru

Oh geez. If this is some conspiracy like some of you are claiming it to be, if some GM is so willing to just poof up a minipet, why would a GM break the rules for something so trivial as just creating a minipet a couple of days earlier? Why risk the wrath of an angry crazed mob for something so small?
