You all know the rules of Guild Wars, you accepted all them with the EULA and when you break the rules, then LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES OF RECEIVING A PERMA BAN.

Imo Anet works still way too less against such retarded names, the word filter is way too outdated and doesn't get actualized, what is really pitiful.

Plus anet does nothign agaisnt all those idiotic Xxx blah bla Xxx names ect. and whatever people try to give characters for shit as name.

All those charas with xxx in names should get forced to rename charas too, if it would go after me XD at least for PvE Characters.
How people name their pvp charas is somewhat of regardless, but the filters for Pve chara names have to become imo much stronger, so that it will be really only possible to create names, that look and sound really like a fantasy name, without any hided insults in the name, countless of xxx's or other retarded crap that doesn't belong into a characters name.

I have been banned many times for having the moniker "Spazz". Aparently, this name "makes fun of retarded people" and is sometimes "reported for being offensive".

I have not been banned on Guild Wars yet for the name, though.

I got banned for a char named Bad Muthafaka, based on a fav movie, pulp fiction... whatever. Anyway, I know it's profane, but I've been playing for a while, and I'm always nice to everyone, and knew most people were cool and would appreciate it. I guess I forgot that most players and admins in gamerworld are either kindergarteners, or pompous, stuck-up jerks. Sure ban my account for 3 days, single me out for being myself, don't bother sending a courteous warning beforehand. It's an awesome game, but it's hard to respect their staff when they don't respect us.

It's called the EULA, it's a good read. And legal type documents don't generally use the word "please" when laying down the rules.

I thought that was a good name. because A persons Inner Ear is where their balance comes from and Since Paragons main highlight is their shouts, it sounded appropriate.

This thread is quite an amusing read. It seems about 90% of the names banned had little/no reason to do so. It seems too many prudes play this game, or are part of the administrative staff. Of course, I'm not ignoring the 10% that are simply bypassing the filter and do require bans. However, after reading this thread, some names simply make no sense.

How is the word Nihilist offensive? How is sadist, or masochist offensive? They are beliefs/ways to live life. A nihilist doesn't see an external reason/purpose to anything, sadists enjoy inflicting pain, while masochists enjoy feeling pain. Is this some sort of derrogatory term? Is it a racial slur? Is it a sexual reference? I consider myself a bit of a nihilist, and this is simply a load of bollocks.

Only people who are non-native English speakers can get exceptions to this.

After hearing about the Black Friday incident, I made "Trampled At Walmart." It was a temporary PvP char I used in AB which i already deleted. I wasn't banned. I did make some people laugh in local chat during the battles though.

I know it's tasteless but it's not like I trampled on some Walmart greeter on Black Friday.

I had "Ross The Intern" which is the name of that gay guy in the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, but I don't think anyone in the game recognized it. It was hardly ban worthy anyways. I haven't been banned for a name or any reason before.

I do enjoy some of the more funny non PC names.
Shouldn't these names be caught when you create them and not after you have been playing for awhile.
I have a problem with people who name themselves something stupid then decide they don't like it later and want to change their name.

During my most recent ban for multiple inappropriate names they made me change a couple character that definitely didn't need changing.

First my warrior named Go Red Engine
Then my monk named Master Itchy Palm

now i can understand banning for a name that is borderline inappropriate and cleverly hidden like my derv The Grimm Reapist or my Paragon Come Inner Ear or my ele Burnswen I Pee, but my warrior and my monk aren't even close to inappropriate and can not be even translated as such. The only one that MIGHT even come close is Go Red Engine. It could possibly offend a native American maybe.

Im curious what douchetard at ANet sits behind their screen and redflaggs names that are not harmful at all.
