I encountered a ranger with Mind Blast.

I proceeded to lock myself in my closet and cry the night away.

Someone should have intervened. I don't think it was a good idea for the rest of the team to stand idly by and watch...er...listen.

No I have never cried over a GAME due to sadness or anger. Laughter is another story.

It hit me deep when one of my founders that has been with me for 3 years straight, loyal as anything, really great friends, decided to leave my guild, so he could be in the leader of the allainces guild, the leader was female, and he chose her over friendship.News flash the guild leaders 56 married and has kids. he on the other hand is 18.

Im severly amused when i think whats happened. But a little Annoyed y'know.Yes, i did "cry" with laughter.

Funny, because I've had the exact opposite. I've been in groups with competitive leaders which failed miserably. The leader would yell and cause more problems in the group.

But when I joined a group of unranked players who were playing for fun and didn't care about wining we won, and held halls multiple times... We still play together to this day....

Hey, I agree. But what you are saying... it doesn't work that way. We all know it. There are "noble and polite" players out there doing PvP. I know many of them, but being in a situation that's competitive and you see someone drop the ball you are going to get frustrated. Take this example for anything competitive: soccer, football, hockey, basketball, gaming, or anything else that involves relying on fellow team mates.

You see cheap shots taken, you see intentional fouls, you see fights on the field, probably don't even want to know what goes on in the locker room (teammates can be extremely harsh, especially the coaches) ... while what you say is certainly encouraged... reality doesn't stack up to it either.

I made a girl cry once, but she was a genuine baby. If you're going into a tougher area, and want to come out of it alive, the bar has to be raised, and if you're going to run a stupid bar, you don't get to go. My rejection of her mending/healing breeze bar in a HM mission made her cry and leave the group.

Lol. I do feel that way a lot when I go on GWG.

Anyways, I don't generally cry. I didn't even cry at close family member's funerals. So... no, never cried on GW.

Sorry for the chick who got booted, this will teach her people in general suck and using vent is a bad idea. Who wants to hear the voices or nerd clones and high pitch kiddy talk. No thanks.

Personally I think it takes a very emotionally unstable person to break down over a video game. It also takes an emotionally unstable person to scream into a mic over a video game.

Raging over a game = failed at life.
Crying over a game = need a serious break from video games.

Shouting over the vent / team speaks is not going to make another player play better or make your team win.

In my experience, leader, the caller, the voice over the vent / team speaks if come out soothing , calmly, the group usually wins and vice versa.

lastly its not worth crying over if on the other end of vent is a dick shouting :P~

this is probably just me, but never never get too personal with people you meet online, lol, you never know who they turn out too be (but I am paranoid, so...)

Personally, I don't cry over anything that is internet related. If someone yells at me on vent, I'll either ignore it or yell back. If someone starts cussing at me in game, I'll just lol at them. People have attempted to attack my family and me personally, and it didn't affect me at all. After all, they're only idiots on the internet.

So no, no one has ever made me cry on Guild Wars. I'm going to have to agree with Fenix here, if you cry over a video game (including what morons say to you in the game), unless it's a very personal subject (someone close that recently died, a serious, life affecting drug addiction, etc.), you need to stop playing and go out.

Sadly, it's true. Every competitive game is going to have people who rage after losing. Getting raged at by others is just something that comes with competitive games. If you can't take people raging at you, you shouldn't be playing competitive games, because it's going to happen, and you can't stop it.

Did I make someone cry on on Guild Wars?
Could be, but not because I was yelling at them.
Never done that, I'm more the kind of person who asks 'please explain what went wrong and don't point fingers'. It's a team game, no individual failure.
Did others make me cry on Guild Wars? A couple of times.
Not because they yelled at me, I can handle that.
But I did and do have some very personal talks with (ex)guildies once in a while. Sometimes the situation they are in just hits me and makes me cry.
Same when I decided I would split my previous guild and I knew some members who I consider (online) friends would not be rejoining the new guild I made.
Guess that's just me being me, I would cry on those kind of things in 'real life'.

There are people that are saying that yelling doesn't do anything. The hell it doesn't. When someone rages, everyone better listen up, because that rage is happening for a reason. Again, disrespect is not constructive but rage can be.

Take it from someone who was severly addicted to this game and WoW about 2 years ago, it's time to take a break, when people start caring so much about a game that they "rage" and insult anyone whenever they feel bad (in your case, a gvg loss), then they are the real losers and it's time for them to take a break. Your friend might have cryed but he's the real one hurting in the picture.
