Are you going to move on to GW2?
II Lucky Charm II
With all the ridiculous and unreasonable actions Anet has done to Guild Wars 1(I'm sure there were a few good updates), I found myself uninterested in this game. Sometimes I wonder what is it that keeps the long-term pve players playing the same missions over and over. I'm positive that these players have their storage overstocked with ectoes, rare items, and mini pets and probably have over 1,000 platinum. But then again, they continue to farm and do missions. What's the point? Why do the same thing over and over? When I was doing Fast Faction Farm to get my survivor I observed these guilds that would gather together to do the same quest again and again just so they will get enough faction to buy a town. Enlighten me someone... What is the main goal for many long-term pve players out there? I know that these guys are probably doing this to get title but what will they do after they get "God Walking Amongst Mortal"? If they have everything they want in PvE, what else will they desire? 3 years of pve is... a little extreme. No offense to anyone.
So... just out of curiosity, are you going to buy Guild Wars 2? or are you going to move on?
History repeats itself,
I'm sure many of you have heard of this famous phrase. Such a cliche' phrase but it's so true if we look back in retrospect. If we all know that the same thing (For the players who have played this game for more than 4 years, you guys know what I am talking about when I mention "thing") will most likely to occur in Guild Wars 2, then why do you guys want to spend your money on it? Just curious!
Guild Wars 2 will be like Guild Wars 1, heck that's why they call it Guild Wars 2. You all will be playing the same game over again and you will have to deal with Anet over again. Sure there will be new game mechanics and other contents but 50% of the game will be like Guild Wars 1. You will end up doing missions over and over and have tons of money again. You will have to face skills nerf and other good stuffs that you have seen for the past 3 years from Guild Wars 1. The question is, then what after that?
Sometimes I wonder how long can a person stick to the same game.

Depends on how the GW2 beta goes.
Karate Jesus
I think I'll try the Beta of GW2 out and if i don't like it, I'll move on.
But to address your premise, I think that a lot of people continue to PvE because of the social interaction and enjoyment they get out of playing with friends. I'm more of a PvP player currently, but I still PvE when I want to play with friends or my guild.

Probably, didn't really like some of the other mmo's out their. And talking to friends and such is half the reason I still play.
komma
im already playing gw2
Elder III
it depends on how good GW2 is - if it bombs I'll stick with GW1
Magikarp
depends on the beta..
R.Shayne
Why do I pve, it is fun, relaxing, and I don't have to deal with people while doing it.
Wait and see on GW2.

Sarevok Thordin
I'll be there from Day 1 emerging from the HoM. With some PvP monuments

If they go with the way they did Prophecies through Nightfall then I will buy it and be happy. If they do it the way they did it in Eye of The North then I will buy it and not be happy. I'm going to move on no matter what because I been playing this game for so long. I'm interested in Diablo III now. Let's just hope they don't make the game how Eye of The North was made.
GWEXTREEMFAN
i'll check beta
and then i'll see
but really they're taking such a sh*tload of time to make it it must own<---*sighs*

Ill have to see how it is really, the new stargate game is really attractive to me so i might give that a try.

I will not move on to GW2 because of all the whiners this game has. I have never seen so many people cry over PVE skills. I mean do you actually NOT want to enjoy this game? Do you want it to be so hard it’s not enjoyable? I like playing THROUGH the game. If you think a skill is broken don’t use it. If you want the game to be a challenge, don’t use a certain skill, bring a different group, play in HM, etc....so NO I’m not moving on and I have pretty much stopped play GW because of the ridiculous nerfs.
Arduin
On your first question: I'm aiming for GWAMM, filling my HoM, playing with alliance. After that, I'll see what will take my interest.
On your second question: Yes, I'm planning to move over to GW2, though I don't care if this will happen in 2009 or 2011.

Move on to GW2? Absolutely, without question! (unless I die (IRL) first)

Simple question, simple answer.
Yes.
Yes.
Abedeus

On topic, I will buy or "move on" to GW2 if I enjoy the beta. If they don't let me into the beta.. I'll base my decision off forums, if I hear what I like I will buy it.
ScarletStormZee
Probably not since my computer's pretty slow..at a whopping 1.6 Ghz *insert sarcasm here*
Stolen Souls
I honestly don't know at this point. It all depends on:
-which looks more appealilng/comes out first, D3 or GW2
I will say this. I am not planning on buying GW2 immediately at release. I will wait a while and see what people say. if I don't think I'd like it, I'm going with D3 instead.

Yes.
Going to try out GW2. But if I don't like it, I might wait for an expansion and try again...
As long as the release doesn't contain as much bugs as Age of Conan...

Well, I said back when GW2 was announced, it could be a good way to upgrade the game world and options and such in the game. But I also said if they plan to do it while ignoring GW1, then screw them. So yeah, screw them.
ScarletStormZee
Does anyone have an idea on what the specs would be?

answer to first question: i sign in every now and then to say hi to friends and guildies, but if i stay on too long i start questioning why i even do that much.
answer to second question: ill get gw2, play it, if it ends up not being that great, then forget gw all together.
ScarletStormZee
Probably gonna ge bashed for this but.. If I don't like GW2 I'm moving on to WoW..

On topic, I'll probably buy it. The lack of a sub means I'm not losing a lot if it turns out I don't like it. Whether I play it for 3 years and play the forum game is another story.

Not "move on to," because I will likely still play GW1... but, yes, I will be playing GW2 as well.
Tender Wolf
I'm buying Guild Wars 2 regardless. I'm hoping to take part in the beta, but even if I don't I'll be buying the game. I'm getting bored of Guild Wars 1, and I hate HM so that leaves little to nothing for me to do except make videos and take screenshots for fun. Guild Wars 2 will be a fresh start, what with the new races and all. Not to mention the HOM will pay off. Maybe a lot of people are grinding their PVE for the HOM in Guild Wars 2. But regardless, I'm buying the game and am looking forward to it. Even if it means a higher level cap, at least it won't get boring staying at level 20 and doing the same things over and over. It will be a bigger change of pace since each race starts in its own area. Get tired of playing one character? Make a new race and it'll be a whole different ball game.
Lord Sojar
In short, yes. In a long drawn out answer, yes.
Dallcingi
I'll probably buy the game but i dunno, since ill probably play SC2 or something..
But i need a new computer first of course...

nope by 2012 I plan to have a good job and be doing something other than playing a failed online game.
Esan
No, I'll be busy playing Duke Nukem Forever by the time GW2's out.

I think I'll be over the whole guild wars experience by 2010. Lets be serious, Beta isn't even going to start till then most likely which leaves a much later release date... I don't think for a moment that there aren't going to be better games by then...
I've been a fan of guild wars for a long time (have played over 3 years) and I was excited for GW2 when it was first announced, but it's been way too long since said announcement that I'm just over it.

I've got more games to look forward to like Left 4 Dead and other Xbox 360 titles.

Well, FFFs are like the dumbest PvEers I've ever met. They are the very definition of grind players (who will sadly enough probablly enjoy doing the same thing in Guild Wars 2). They grind non stop... for what? A small discount on the merchants of their owned town so they can then turn a (very small) profit selling lockpicks.
People who think Kurzick/Luxon faction for guilds means something are either a) new to the game and think the number means experience or b) people who think big numbers = better (ie, people like sundering over vampiric because 20>3).
Please don't clump all PvEers together with... those people.
Anyways, I can't judge a game that is coming out roughly 3 years from now due to the decision that company makes today. It is a whole new product, probablly a lot of new employees too.
Oh, and to all you trolls, stop acting like Guild Wars is a "failure." It is one of the most successful new PC franchises in the past 5 years. Sure, it isn't making Halo or WoW money, but it is definately successful. This isn't... Area 51: Blacksite, Big Motha Truckers, or The Dukes of Hazards video game we are talking about here, this is GW, a very successful product.

I will be giving GW2 a good chance. Meaning I will play the beta and buy the game. Give it a shot and see how it goes. I am *hoping* it will go well. Will have to wait and see. If I dont like it I shall move back to GW1. At least I know there is a game I love so if GW2 is a flop I still am happy with GW1.
