Are you going to move on to GW2?

I created this thread, originally, to ask for other people's opinions and decisions on the next Guild Wars. Please respect others' opinions and decisions. There are no need to use that tone of voice in this thread! I just need a little statistics.

If you are reading this forum, you'll buy it, even if you don't think you will. It's not like anything big is going to change in GW1, and yet you're still here.
At that point cognitive dissonance will set in. "Well, I wasn't going to buy it because: they totally made it out to be a WoW clone/They totally said it was going to be all titles, gear and grind/Well I didn't know the skill balancer got a brain transplant, because this game is balanced better/No see they listened to my posts on guru and not all the PvE noobs/No see they listened to my posts on guru and not the PvP elitists/etc."

I'm most definitely going to get Guild Wars 2. In fact I'm getting very anxious with the wait. Guild Wars 1 is getting boring more and more every day, but Guild Wars 2 will be a fresh start. Personally I find the only thing ANet did wrong is the messed up XTH. I don't care about what they do to skills since I use roughly the same build on all characters. New content is always good and they seem to have done good with that with the menagerie. Overall I think ANet has done a good job with this game.
Guild Wars 2 will have a higher level cap if they even have one at all, you can play as something other than the predictable/boring human race, it'll be an open world...in fact I don't think it'll be identical to Guild Wars 1 at all other than the similar races and locations.
Oh, and not all PVErs have 100 million gold in the game; I'd die of happiness if that was the case but it's not. If someone gets GWAMM they could always work on another character even if it would be boring. At least it would pass the time if nothing else.
But yeah I've been looking forward to Guild Wars 2 since it was announced, so I'm buying it the day it comes out. I'll be lined up at the door at 6am for it. Now if they'd just hurry up and release it. hehe

I'm definitely going to play GW2.

I won't buy it until I read a review x2 and see ingame video of it or even try it beforehand. Just like any other game I buy, sequel or not.

at this Point Probably not A Net is Killing Guild wars as it (What hapend to The concept of this being a Platform for balanced Competitive PvP) is GW2 is going to be another Addled mes like Wold of Stupidcraft or any other the other "MMORPGs" that you have to spend 10 hours a day on to be competive

Most of the people saying they won't buy it are a damn liar.
When you see the box on the shelf you will buy it stop kidding yourselves there's too much of that in this world already. |

Means I am just looking for a filler.
GW1 went to shit. GW2 will most likely follow why waste the money when you pretty much know what will happen.
I will absolutely NOT be getting gw2.
I'm done with gw1 for that matter.

^^ Let's not turn this into another Guild Wars vs. WoW thread. If you want to play Blizzard games, no one is stopping you. Some of us prefer to play a game that doesn't make us fork out money every month just to access. And hopefully the Guild Wars 2 leveling will work like it does now - easy to gain levels, so that won't seem like a grind. WoW's leveling process = fail. But I won't get into that.

It's gonna take a miracle.... yes it's gonna take a miracle.

Over 6k hours here and I don't have a single ecto. I am hoarding plat though I don't know for what...there's absolutely nothing I want to buy. Will probably blow it all in one shot on zkeys or something equally pointless. Nowadays I spend most of the time in "low-end" pvp... FA/JQ/AB etc... the commentary from other players make for great comedy! GWAMM sounds dull and tedious on the other hand.
I might buy GW2, in the event that it comes out before 2050. I have my eye on D3, but after perusing the blizzard forums, I'm starting to have my doubts about the kind of crowd that game will attract....>< At least GW players can form coherent sentences...well some of them anyway.

Well before i choose if im gonna buy GW2, i have the wonderful task of choosing my title char (been trying to decide for 3 weeks). If i do though, im gonna grind the hell out of the pvp they have on it. Hopefully do high-end pvp if i get far enough, i can only try . But anyways!!! I plan to do so, i made such great friends and met kool people, including here on guru as well. I never played this kind of game with alot of people online, only used to xbox 360 kinda things. But im happy i did because as stated above, i met alot of great people

When you don't like a game you don't play it, you don't talk about it, you don't discuss it on the community board... simple as that
Unless you don't go to school, don't go to work, don't have friends and your favourite activity/hobby is trolling
Please do us a favour and leave the community

No.
GW1 was grind free. I quitted it when grind became the basis of this game.
GW2 is clearly announced as a grind game. There's enough free corean hack n slash grind games out there. Gw2 won't bring anything new to the table that hasn't been proposed yet.
I will test it of course with free testing keys or beta keys. If it turns out that
-it is a grindfest with useless farming titles and
-there is no level cap as announced, and
-its community will be constituted by a big transfer from the detestable 14-years old stupid leeroy community that invaded GW1 when skill stopped to matter but grind did,
Then I will continue my character on Dofus, the perfect grind game, or will go back to FPS and diablo II lan parties I still continue to play with friends.
GW2 won't see me.

I'm pre-ordering, I'd do it now if I could.
I'm putting 100% trust in Arena Net, even though they give me no reason other than their word to trust them.
They made a great first game, it had it's drawbacks, all
those drawbacks will be removed in GW2. In my opinion GW2 will be the perfect game. I like not grinding forever to get max level, instant travel, not losing items if I die...
With a persistent world, and world-events, and the world PvP(The PvP is ALL i care about really), freedom of movement, ALL the drawbacks will be removed, while not making the game a grind fest. (I miss any other drawbacks?).
I did get bored of the same missions and stuff over and over, I played wow for like months (Quit like 5 days ago), the game is too elitist/grindful. Anyways, GW2 WILL be perfect, I just know it, and I'm a pessimist, an extreme pessimist.

Of course I will buy GW2.
But who can tell how long I will enjoy and play it?
People usually dedicate themselves to one or two MMOs, usually due to the simple fact of not having unlimited time to play.
But I have lost quite some faith in ArenaNet and Guild Wars:
* GREAT ideas, SHITTY implementation
* Trying to please everyone, but in fact putting everyone off
* Their game design "vision" is so flexible and subject to change that it really put me off.
GW played so differently at start, its character changed considerably over time.
I also fear a focus on title farming as the driving force of GW2. Back to grind, in fact GW2 seems more like returning to the very basic and primitive MMO roots instead of going ahead.
This is a pity, as Guild Wars has so much potential. I often think even the designers have no idea what they could do with it. ^^

Definately! But I will still continue to play GWs 1 as well.

I don't know about that now... pug seems dead... and then the different difficult. It doesn't match reward at all. I am thinking playing MH for a moment... ^_^V

Ive noticed on the official wiki that anet is taking suggestions for GW2, from players. So I would like it if we had a ingaming mailing system, so if you are off line that you could still message someone - this would be great for trading. Well moving to GW2? well it depends - a lot of people are getting impatient with anet for taking their time in releasing it - come one we wanna beta test it already - but they are reasoning that they wanna get it perfect - is that so? Because some would say that they where putting all their effort into their other mmorpg AION in effect pushing GW2 to the back log of work. I would definitely move if the pc requirements dont suck my pockets dry.

Well, I have a hall full of minis/statutes/monuments/weapons/armor and I'm still not done with PVE and it's been 3 years. What brings me back is my guild and the friends I've collected while playing. That and I really want to see how collecting titles armor minis ect in GW1 will play out in GW2. Of course I'm going to get GW2 just based on that. As for playing GW1 until then, I've been thinking about giving Aion a good look until GW2 comes out.
Damian979
Aside from logging in every couple of weeks to chat with some friends that still play, I quit "playing" GW long ago. If I don't die of old age before GW2 comes out then sure I'll try it. I have long since lost my warm and fuzzies for Anet and GW so if I choose to continue playing it will be only if it's an innovative and interesting game, not because "omg it's GW part 2!"
Solas
Buying GW2 on day of release, be playing in beta if I can

I'm really having a hard time keeping interest in GW1 at the moment... i've played about 4 yrs now of GWS and I've done so much... my achievements moving over to GW2 may be the only HUGE incentive to play gw2.. otherwise.. my interests are moving more to AION, which seems like an amazing game, NCSOFT is a much better communicator to the community as well. I've really disliked how Anet is so freakin secretive on the highest level.. not even ideas of "maybes" or possibilities... Aion for right now... maybe gw2.. i dunno anymore.
Zebideedee
tyrian vanq's (4 dolyack unfun areas in particular, Left 4 Dead should thank areas like that) and Luxon/Kurz tit grinds are putting me off Gw's 1! If any of that carries over, then, sigh!
I want the titles but every time I log on with "I'm gonna do them today!" in my head, as soon as I remember whats required, I shoot the sh!t for a bit then go play something else. So hopefully no titles in GW2

I'll be playing GW1 and 2, I love 1 (mostly for all the amazing pvp) and I'm sure I'll love GW2
I've played tons of mmo's but GW is the one I always go back to...

I had really wanted to but the lack of information is discouraging. Also, if it runs out until 2011 or 2012 I doubt I'll have any interest left.
There's other games I'm playing now. EQ2 with a new expansion 02/10 regular game updates etc. Also, Freerealms it's not just for kids lol
So no, unless something changes drastically and/or there is some kind of concrete information soon.

^^^ Yeah a lot of people's interest is peaked right now, but the longer it takes for the game to be released, the less interested people will be. Now hopefully when it hits the shelves people will see it and their interest will return, but it would be nice to at least have some information...

GW1 has been a great game to play. Having nearly 7000 hours over 41 months and across 3 accounts (23 characters), I have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of it.
The main reason I log on anymore is for my guild mates, and most of them have not played in over a month.
When GW2 hits the shelves, I will look at the box to see the system requirements. If I am borderline or below them, I will place the box back on the shelf. My computer just barely met the requirements for this one, but a few dollars fixed that.
Unless things change considerably in the next year or so, I will continue as I do now, making mini siege maps for one of my older games.

I'll most definitely move on to GW2. Actually, I can't wait for the beta to finally come out!

I read something about "jump" in the game... if players can jump... i out...

I'm not sure if I replied already, but yea, I'm most definitely going to get gw2, I'll even pre-order collectors edition if there is one o.-

super strokey
Given how late they expect it to come out... im gonna say probably not. SOmething else will have caught my eye by then. Like the new xbox or a new ps4 or something. I can wait a while but the amount of time they are asking it just too much. Im usually very supportive of anet but waiting till 2011? 2 more years and the amount of time we have already waited just isnt worth it to me.
That being said watch me see a few vids and read the books and get locked back in lol.
