Are you going to move on to GW2?
pamelf
i personally have already lost interest. There had better be some new info on it soon; waiting for that info is the only reason i'm still even hanging around things to do with GW1. The waiting won't last much longer.

With all the ridiculous and unreasonable actions Anet has done to Guild Wars 1(I'm sure there were a few good updates), I found myself uninterested in this game. Sometimes I wonder what is it that keeps the long-term pve players playing the same missions over and over. I'm positive that these players have their storage overstocked with ectoes, rare items, and mini pets and probably have over 1,000 platinum.

Stil almost onn every evening.
Yes I may say that I am one of those long-term PvE players.
BUT... stacks of ecto's over 1000 K.... O men not by long...
guess it is around 50 K atm
How come ??? Wel ... as it says, I'm a PvE player.
I love to roam with hero's with self made builds (without Discord).
But really random builds using cons en stones in HM. And besides that It is
still nice to go with allaince members to a Urgozh, Doa , etc etc.
I must say... after a hard day of work. than come home spend time with the kids. and than when they are to bed. I find it very relaxing playing a few hours
or sometimes shorter GuildWars.
So that is what keeps me goin.
And I am sure that GuildWars 2 is gonna give me the same satisfaction.
So yes I will move on to Guild Wars 2
pumpkin pie
back to undecided or depends if my hands don't become crippled from playing too much game before the gw2 is out.

indeed I will be.

I don't see how having to wait for a game would cause someone not to play. Makes no sense. How about finding something else to do in the mean time and not stressing it so much.
Release a game quickly that isn't completely done so we have to buy online additions causing the game to cost even more or wait until its finished? Complain about it taking to long or complain about it not being finished apon release. Find a reason to complain or make one up. Hate the game for this reason or that reason.
Many gamers really are crybabies. Want some cheese to go with that whine?
Here's a suggestion that might help you all pass the time until your next installment of life comes out. Try dating. You'd be amazed at how fun it can be, you might even like it as much as gaming. But you might not like it since dating sometimes includes grinding and we all know how gw players hate that. THis applies to married people too. Turn off the pc and go spend time with the person you are trying to escape.

Depends wether I like Aion or not. Also depends how far I get in with PvP in that, already got a guild organized as they know I have PvP MMO experience
hunter
Pre formed guilds before a game is even out tend to fail 99% of the time unless said guild existed and had most of its members from a previous game
Ghost Omel
Isnt he is saying exactly the same thing.. that you just refrased?.. Usually guilds fail because of wrong chemistry between the members.. but because the guild he stated is already in existance whenever thats not a problem.. the onl;y way theu can fail if that they dont get into PvP in Aion.. that about it.

2,045 hours of playing GW say yes, yes I will be playing GW2. I'll be splitting my time between GW2 and Star Wars: The Old Republic though
GhostKairi
I will play it, and thank god for Golden Sun DS and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, and MAYBE Aion, i dont think i could last to 2011 without them (L)

I heard Guild Wars 2 will be more WoW-ish in that most content won't be instanced. If that ends up being the case, I'm not bothering with that game.
Peace.
P.S.: Though I'm fairly new to this game so I haven't exhausted all missions and quests yet.

I have no interest in GW 2 now after they have destroyed all the good builds. There are far better games out there that are free.

Marketing will decide the initial fate of the game. Whether the game will survive up to the hype depends entirely on the content offered and how it is managed.
If they market well, I will buy. If the content sux, I will leave.

Yes, I'm a sucker for sequels... as my gaming history proves.
I've been pleasantly surprised with a lot of game sequels, if a company can recapture the thrill and the love of the game for me, but keep some old themes... it just makes me all warm and comfortable inside. Corny. But it's like greeting an old friend.
*must stop... before... tears... come*
So I'm anxiously awaiting Guild Wars 2. And any and all TIDBITS/RUMORS/INTERVIEWS/ARTICLES/DEV STALKING/LEAKS/SLIPS/and more I can get my hands on. Send them my way.

Hey Inde, I heard that GW2 is going to include destroyable terrain and a new build system that changes the way skills interact with each other.
Just a rumour.

I don't know if you're somehow being sarcastic or not though.

Well, to be fair, Red Faction did it pretty well, and Red Faction 2 even more so. So much fun shooting rocket after rocket at rock walls and making my very own cave.

most likely i won't be playing gw2. however, it has nothing to do with anet. i just haven't bought a new game of any kind for a couple years now.

GW2? No I don't think so.
Guildwars evolved into Grindwars over the years and that only tells me GW2 will be more of the same. I can waste my life grinding in any of the more sophisticated free to play games.
I play mmo for fun not to waste my life.

If you'd asked me a couple years ago (maybe even a year), I'd have said hell yeah, GW2, I'm there! Now? I'm really not sure.
So much seems to be fubar with Anet and NCSoft right now, skill balances seem to be more unbalanced, Support becoming even more of a joke than it was before (although perhaps there's some glimmer of hope for that).........
Just don't know. If a company puts so much effort into a new product but to the overwhelming expense of its in-place product, I'm not sure I want to continue purchasing its goods.

Despite all the shi**y changes that has happend throughout the game, I'm still buying GW2 the day it comes out. There is no other game for me, and the story that GW2 will seem to have is one that greatly interests me.
felinette
The deciding factor for me will be whether I can solo my way through most of the content. If the answer is yes, I'll check it out. If the answer is no, I won't bother. I'm not interested in games that require me to waste my precious gaming time forming groups. I don't mind grouping, but if that's the only way to play through the storyline, I'm not interested.

And World of Warcraft might be a great game, I have no idea. Never played it. But its nothing original and some of us older games see warcraft as a clone of warhammer. But thats an offtopic discussion.

I am an older gamer, too, and also an MMO veteran. I would rather compare WoW to EverQuest, your comparisons really made me cringe...

I will if they make it a lot like PWI and learn from them.I want Flying.PWE is cominng out with it 3rd edition to the PWE chain as it is already in beta.

Longasc, he means that originally Warcraft was meant to be an RTS based on Warhammer fantasy, but as Games Workshop laughed at Blizzard and wouldn't agree to the rights, they changednames and a little artisic style and called it Warcraft

I will play GW2 if my friends come back.
GW1, unfortunately, became boring for all of us. I sign on and get bored in 2.2 seconds because I have no one to play with anymore. :\

I have left GW several times and try out other mmo(warhammer, cabal), and i always come back a month or two.
I feel relax in the lvl20 system, not like the other games which I have to play it everyday [do the required quests, grind 30 mobs, get 5 items, repeat], all those grinding just for climbing to the top level at the current state of game.
I like farming, but not grinding. I think this is what keeps me playing GW.
anyway, it is way too early to talk about this before the beta.

I'll definitely try it out. If it sucks, I'll stop. If it doesn't suck, I won't stop. I have faith in A-net though. They've never disappointed me in gameplay/storyline. It's just that after you're done all the campaigns you get bored of trying out all the other stuff. I only finished EotN a month or so ago and have been picking at HM titles & stuff, but it's not really as fun as it used to be.
Hyper.nl
Yes, I will. Guild Wars (1) was one of the most intense games I ever played, and I expect Guild Wars 2 to be at least a good game as well.
nkuvu
Definitely. I've enjoyed playing Guild Wars for the past four years, so it's likely that I'll enjoy GW2 as well. And in terms of money spent for entertainment given, it's a lot better than other games I've played.
Buster
What are you insane ? Ofcourse I'll be playing Guild Wars 2.

I always come back to GW.
Guild Wars 2 is the game I'm most looking forward too, over Bioshock 2 and StarCraft 2.

Two awesome titles that I will be purchasing as well along with Left4Dead 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and Mass Effect 2.

Starcraft 2 should be out by Christmas, and even though I didn't play SC1, and am not planning to get that into it, hopefully a buddy and I can co-op through the campaign (which we did for Dawn of War 2 campaign -- really fun to play through with a friend actually).
In the nearer term, nothing; not at all excited about Aion, played it a bunch, and graphics aside it is an uninspiring mediocre game.

the game is totally playable without the pve skills, fancy armor or w/e...

hehe, I don't really play Starcraft. But, if I were to play starcraft, the multiplayer aspect of it will offer a more dynamic gameplay and more competition. No matches in starcraft will be the same, you will always face new challenges from different players who posses different styles of gameplay. For guild wars, however, the PvP aspect is different since many players play only meta builds and you get bored from playing against the same build over and over. The same thing goes for PvE, you only play against computers who have already being pre-design to perform skills and attack you when you aggro them. The enemies will almost always appear in the same spots so you always expect groups popping out to attack you. What's the fun in that? ^_^

Most of the people saying they won't buy it are a damn liar.
When you see the box on the shelf you will buy it stop kidding yourselves there's too much of that in this world already.
