I think the same thing applies for Canthan faces, actually. If you make the faces too pale they look really sickly, especially if you use black hair - because that makes them look even paler. They're not really supposed to go with extremely light skin tones - usually the medium ones work better.

Male monks.

No one has a male monk. I have met about 15 of them in my life time.

They are like female dwarves in WoW.

Hehe I get why most folks don't like Paras in our current culture. But being something of a Roman historian I can see were the inspiration comes from. Seriously take a look at some of the ancient centurion or hoplite armors. Anyhow there are a few armor combos for them that I like such as this one. As for chars that I dont like... meh most necros and eles are pretty awful, with a few exceptions

Ya' know... if they had the helms that the romans had, I'd agree with you but since they don't... I went and made a female para instead.

Oh... and my vote goes for male Necros. They're meant to be ugly, that's why even their obsidian armor is! xD

The thing about the paragon armor is that it doesn't seem to fit into the feel of nightfall which is supposed to be African/Middle Eastern Themed, and paragons seem to fit into the African aspect. Yet their armor resembles more of Greek/Roman style.

Ahh yes but you see, Rome did occupy Africa for some time.

I said that most Nightfall characters are ugly because people don't realize that the faces go with the darker skin colors. They just pick the faces with a pale skin color and blonde hair, which is absolutely hideous.

Yes they did, but they made the Africans wear their armor?

Anyhow, I still wish that they designed the paragon's armor to fit more along the lines of African clothing/armor.

I really don't get why so many hate the Nightfall designs. To me, they're some of the best ones in the game. Factions is where the fugly ones are.

And as for some people not liking female rangers, well I agree with one poster who said they have some of the best faces in the game, and hairs to match. One of the few professions that actually lets the character have long hair down instead of up in a weird bun. But then again, it's all about opinions here.

I forgot something to add - I can't stand the Prophecies male mesmer faces. I go through them for characters for my newspaper and I'm thinking blech.

Anet got lazy with NF styles in my opinion, some of the faces and hairstyles look so outrageously weird that it looks like a bunch of 5 year olds came up with the idea.

By the way, don't worry about female rit faces, the mask is like a bag for their head. =]

As much as I love my Assassin, most everyone is correct about the skinny/underweight thing and the face thing. However, I think Assassin's bad inherent appearance is countered by a number of really great looking armor sets.

Female Assassins on the contrary are just the opposite. I think they have some very "Assassin" looks but a lot of crap skimpy armors.

My Male Dervish is one of my best looking characters in my opinion, my girlfriend's female not so much.

Male Necros *can* look okay but have to be themed to do so, like if you're going for the really dark, necrotic look you have to have a face to go with it.

I like everything. Especially my male monks hair. He has the best hair available. Cause no one can beat strap on dreadlocks.

Well, not only did rome conquer north africa, greece conquered most of the middle east for a while. So there should be some greco-roman influences in NF.

Not really since there is no such thing as magic and creatures that lie in the world of Guild Wars.

Nightfall is just based on the Africa and The Middle East.
