A thread to discuss the most horrific/unappealing profession. This goes both ways, male and female professions. Not only facial appearance, but armor counts as well. My vote goes toward both male and female assassins. The male assassins have a horrible choice selection of faces. The females have a horrible selection of faces too, not to mention they look anorexic. Anorexia FTL! |

Ill give you the mez isnt as homo as he is metro.

I'll submit Male Warriors on account of their bulk; I find it unattractive (I like a lot of their armour, though).
Although, when I put on Gladiator armour, the most common reaction from party members (yes, I occasionally fire up the friends list and get some people to form up a party) is, "Holy s***, it's Conan!"

Yeah, I'm serious. I'm not a teenage chick though. I'm a 23-year-old gay man. But wait before you judge me on this one, despite my characters I'm far from being stereotyped. I hate pop music so GG Backstreet Boys (bad memories of my sister's all-girl parties coming back) and I'm really, really not into pretty boys.

Paragons have skirts because they're inspired from ancient Rome army generals; centurions, decurions, etc etc. Mind you, skirts were regarded as normal wear back then. Same thing for dervishes, who AFAIK they seem inspired by soufi (other sp. souffi, suffi, sufi) dancers. And what these (generally) male dancers wear? Skirts.
North-America and Europe had different clothes, thus have a different way of treating them. A skirt here was mostly made for a girl (exceptions like the kilt) while men wore pants. We associate men who wear skirts to homosexuality (lmfao) while it's a completely different, highly cultural context...

A lot of people use "gay" and "homo" as a term for "lame" or "stupid", or in a quite negative way, which tends to piss me off and I'm not afraid to say so. Other times I'll pretty much use it myself, often as a joke (when the gay guy finds it too gay, there's a design problem, I say that a lot about paragon's underwear... too frilly for my own tastes).

I think NF characters are some of the best looking and i think mine are all pretty, but i'm sure, being it's only opinion that some people wont think so.

Female Assassins aren't that bad, they look atheletic (seen the female runners recently) rather than aneorexic (however that damn thing's spelt). Then again it's all opinion, I like red hair on females and try to get it where I can. Some people think that ginger/red hair is horrific and ugly.

In my opinion only eles and mez can pull off the glasses, maybe monks
The only person that doesnt like chaos gloves is a person that cant afford them. I think chaos gloves look best on mez.

I think elementalists look bad in all campaigns with maybe a tiny few exceptions. Assassins don't have much going for them either. Most prophecies and a decent amount of Nightfall characters are ugly to me. I think factions has the best looking characters. In general I think all male characters are ugly except male mesmers in NF.

While I don't really like male mesmers, I can't really find a good female mesmer face/hair combination. I've only found one I truly enjoy which is found off Factions. It doesn't look quite asian, and has a nice hair style. The Nightfall ones look too...Barbie. The prophecies ones look too..old. Factions looks asian, except that one. Ugh, WTB MOAR FACES.
