Change GUILD WARS 2 name to....
Craywulf
I don't care for the subtitle Guild Wars '2'. I think its bad marketing and doesn't sound inviting to a new gamer. Lets assume Guild Wars '2' is merely a 'working subtitle', I've come up with 3 different subtitles that I think would be so much better than just '2'.
Guild Wars: Revelations
Revelations is basically another word for Prophecies. I figured it would be a ideal name because Guild Wars 2 is basically a do over for ArenaNet and the subtitle pertains to the storyline.
Guild Wars: New Age
New Age is kinda bland but it speaks the truth, this is indeed going to be a whole new generation of people and creatures. Its certainly better than just having '2' as a subtitle.
Guild Wars: Primordus
Anyone who gotten far in the current game or knows the lore, knows who Primordus is. I can only assume the next chapter in the game would be about Primordus. I also find it fitting that Primordus is variation of the word prime, which would be a suitable subtitle if they plan to add expansion campaigns.
If you got a better subtitle please share. Also I'm not looking for negative comments regarding the Guild Wars name itself. Yeah, we've heard it all before.

Operative 14
Those are nice, but they don't sound like a sequel. They sound like a new chapter to GW1 (I'd love any of those as a new chapter name to be honest). But you're right, the 2 just tacked on to the name just doesn't look right, especially in a fantasy setting. I'd say something like Guild Wars II. Numbers are bad, but you can't go wrong with Roman numerals.
Signed, Operative XIV
P.S. Guild Wars: The Next Generation would also suit me.

Maybe Guild Wars 2:subtitle. And Guild Wars 2 will probably have a subtitle, but we don't know jack yet, unfortunately. Just like the original Guild Wars was Prophecies. But i'd imagine it being something along the lines of how Prophecies was, and not just simple "Guild Wars 2".
RavenGT
'2' isn't a subtitle.
Subtitles usually compliment the idea behind the game. In example, Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall are all very self explanatory. But something like 'New Age' sounds awfully vague.

Without the 2 it simply sounds like it's another expansion, or another campaign, whereas it's a whole new game.
I think they should keep GW2 and then add a sublitle.

As long as the game doesn't suck ass, I'm fine if the name is "Guild Wars: Super Happy Fun Land with Marshmallows."
FlamingMetroid
Guild Wars 2: Electric Boogaloo would be pretty pro imo
I would totally buy that, no matter how bad it was

I feel wanting to change the name of a game which has not yet been released is not really a "game suggestion".
Given this is a "discussion" rather than a "suggestion" I'm moving to Riverside.

Revelations would be pretty cool, but I think it's important that we all move on to the aspect that it's 2, i.e. a totally new game, rather than an expansion.
If anything, I want Guild Wars 1.5: Alesia's Story :P. ADD HER TO THE BMP NOW.

I just think pinning a sequel on it would make it unappealing to new gamers. I understand the need for ArenaNet to separate the original game to new one because of compatibility issues, but I don't think they should sweep the original series under the proverbial rug as if it was a failure. I think they should embrace the lore.

I think we should let the name to developers, i mean, what do we really know about the game, maybe they already have a name for it and GW 2 is just a project name.
to Koudelka: i also want to know more about Alesia, maybe make her an hero, i miss her in now prophecies gameplay ;P

How about Guild Wars: I wonder if we can get any more similar to WoW without paying monthly. Lol.
But honestly I have no objection to it just being Guild Wars 2.

jus get rid of the Guild and call it Barbie Wars or Vanity Wars... seems more appropriate... XD

I'd bet a donut (with sprinkles) that A-Net already has a subtitle all lined up for GW2. They are a pretty creative group of people, don't cha know?

Guild Wars 2: boobs and violence
That way the game will get free advertisements in the news (if journalists pick up on it) because it's all controversial, and lots of people will buy it because of it.
Also it would be more tongue in cheek and the game wouldn't take itself too seriously. I somewhat disliked how the story in guildwars (factions and especially nightfall) pretends to be epic when it's clumsy and predictable at best. In fact the subtitles they decided to add are just as pretentious as well 'prophecies' ohhhh how insightfull -_-
Guildwars's stengths (besides graphics and subscription fee) are that it's accessible to new players, and it has a strong competitive element. The story and the lore is not one of them, entertaining as it may be in it's own right because of it's cheesyness. That's why they shouldn't advertise the game like a sort of 'epic' game with some sort of pseudo philosophic subtitle name. Anet shouldn't want to get ahead of themselves like that.

GaaaaaH
you guys all suck, go try to be funny somewhere else.
"lol teh developerz will nevar do itz!!!" isn't an excuse, this can just be taken as a suggestion thread (if it's good maye they will use it).
Ontopic:
I don't really know if we can name it now because all of the previous subtitles were linked to the story of their respective games (Flameseeker Prophesies, Luxon vs Kurzicks, coming of Nightfall), but at this stage something to do with dragons seems to be a good bet.

Red Sonya
Guild Wars 2: A Grind and Back again. Or Or....Lord of the Grind....or or....Return of the Grind.
Monk Gsb
guild wars 2: the game that never made it to alpha

Keep in mind that ArenaNet only makes money when a game is purchased. A constant reminder that GW2 is a sequel has a purpose.
Gamers new to the Guild Wars world with GW2 will be more likely to buy the original GW series and vice versa.
More sales equal money to develop GW3.
Forgot my choice which is GW2: xx (depends on the storyline)

Artisan Archer
It should definetly say something bout the dragons. or something bout them waking up.
Guild Wars 2: Awakening
Guild Wars 2: Rise of the Dragons
Guild Wars 2: Awakening
Guild Wars 2: Rise of the Dragons
Pleikki
I got better name, its Guild wars TWO
Longasc
Guild Wars 2 is probably best left without a cheesy subtitle like "Rise of the Dragons" (not meant to criticize Artisan Arch, I just read that he had the same idea) or anything else related to Dragons or just another subtitle.
What do you guys think of World of Guildcraft?

Nature Loves Me
If anything they should add GW2 then a subtitle like someone said because this is WHOLE different game from Guild Wars. Adding something like Guild Wars: Primordus would give the unintentional allusion that it is part of the original Guild Wars.
Sjeng
have a better name:
Guild Wars II: Age of Legends, or GW2: Legacy.
as players get titles that start with "Legendary" when they max it, and they leave a legacy in the form of a HoM.
but super happy fun land is good too.

I'd like:
Nerf Wars 2: Izzy's Revenge
But seriously....what's wrong with just simple Guild Wars 2? Sure it's a little bland, but it beats the pants off of 95% of the cheesy subtitles that can be attached to it.
