Extremely confused... GTA IV, broke records in sales... I'm pretty sure IV stands for 4 but their were still a bunch of people who were new to the series when buying it. I see no problem with it just being called Guild Wars 2...if you want proof just look at the Call of Duty PC series, the only one that wasnt numbered was an expansion and I think there is no doubt that this is a successful series.

The name should make it clear for everyone that it's not just another Guild Wars game, but an entirely NEW game of new quality which is set in the Guild Wars universe.
I see the number 2 in the name as a must, it can't be just Guild Wars: Something, for the reason stated above.
And a simple "Guild Wars 2" should work perfectly fine as it's going to be The only one core game - further releases are going to be expansions, not standalone games as far as we know.

The last thing Guild Wars needs is to try to copy JRPG's and give their game an exotic subtitle. I like "2", it's short, simple, and to the point.
You'd have to convince me that there's something wrong with "2" before I said it needed changing. Like someone already said, there's Diablo 2, Lineage 2, EverQuest 2, etc. etc. They were all very successful and didn't have to try to be off-beat with their game names.

I don't even think Guild Wars should be in the title. Its not as if its about guild wars! That seemed like a pre-release idea that sort of got dropped. So unless they make guild wars central to the new game they should call it something else. Maybe just Tyria?
