GW servers getting worse by the day.

A quick google says DirectX, maybe. But it could also be the network. Anyway, only active remote desktop only if you actually use it, otherwise it's not so safe (not that it's a security problem by itself, but rather that it's good security practice to only activate what you need).

I don't know where you guys live, because i have no problems most of them. I haven't got DCed because of there severs. So mabey i'm just lucky
Cobalt
I never get DCed but the last few days I have gotten several; last night I was in Val Falls getting Azura quests and got Dced, logged back on and found myself in EotN.
So yes something is not right, I am betting its their ISP.

Really only get lag on the big PvE weekends that are popular, like on the double faction one or something like that. But otherwise, not much at all ever.
Rothan Celt
2 ppl lagged out in a opposite team in TA i soon followed and my m8 on vent said he went after i did...... not looking good GW servers : /
Gli
I haven't experienced any kind of serious connection problem in ages. Just 3 disconnects in 2 weeks of almost 24/7 deathlevelling charr, sounds like their servers are running pretty smooth.
Karate Jesus
Everyone in my alliance has had the same problem. Lag outs in TA and HA as well as PvE and GvG have really begun to be a problem for us. And it's not just us, a couple of days ago our whole group lagged out of GvG as did the opposing team. Just this morning both my team and the opposing team lagged out of TA entirely.
There may have been a time when this could be blamed on the players' computers, but that time has passed. This is too frequent and widespread. This is a server problem.
Fix it. The End

I have a wireless connection to my isp (as in I'm not plugged into a phone line or a cable line to use the internet) and I have trouble with the signal going in an out while I am surfing the net, I log into Guild Wars or any other online game (console or PC) and have no problems with speed. My ping with GW is around 130ms and a "lag spike" for me is 500-800ms ping. My point is just because GW is old and they want to reduce upkeep as much as they can since they aren't selling new copies as much as they used to doesn't mean that all lag problems are automatically their fault.
assassin shaun
i rarely get any lag when i play GW but when i do it is TERRIBLE!
Electric Friend
The lag spikes were so bad that I had to talk to my brother on the phone to coordinate a group effort. It was a pretty bad day for lag, maybe they should just take a few days and really take a look at their servers and say, "what can we do to make these things NOT run like @#$%? It might piss quite a few players off temporarily but they might actually fix their little problem.

Looks like we reached something. Game server maintenance 28th of oktobre
Productivity
And the servers have gotten so bad now that I can't even connect... Thanks Anet, another festival, another week where I can't play. I feel sorry for those who are in the MAT, best bet is to take your four guys with the best connection and 4 hench.
gmonster2
start of event good , now, huge lag spikes not playable
xDusT II
Same problem here. I can't even connect to Guild Wars, and whenever I do I just lag out straight away.
Issac
You would think with less people it wouldn't be this bad lol.
ozfallwind
the lag is getting worse even after the server maintenance... geez..
keli
i dont feel any lagg
tipiak
Well, always between 150-500ms ping. Got 007'd last night, first time since ages. But a lot of people are raging because of lag in my alliance the last few weeks. I'm in Europe btw.
Unreal Havoc
I'm a euro server player, in 2 years of playing Guild Wars I have only ever experienced a Server wide disconnect twice. At least 6 months of that time I was playing from an ISP in China. These so called team-lag spikes I have only experienced once. In 2 years!
What would be more helpful would be the people who do experience these sort of problems should note down theur timezones and what times these issues are normally happening. Localizing their incidents and comparing them properly with others to see if there's a pattern. I mean has anyone even come to the conclusion of whether these incidents are happening at certain peak times of a specific timezone or all the time across all timezones? Because as it stands there isn't much that makes sense, nothing really constructive from people (bar the odd one or two) that helps anyone identify what they HAVE done to remedy their issue. Just a load of QQ from a minority. Out of 2 million+ players there isn't really that many here complaining about it.
Maybe it is Anet, maybe it's your PC, maybe it's your ISP. Why don't you make sure it ISN'T anything you can do something about before complaining. It doesn't hurt to check, takes up only a little of your time, and you could be thouroughly surprised. There may indeed be issues server end, but not everyone is experiencing it.

Whilst I had a couple of err7 DC's the afternoon after the maintenance, I've had no problems since.
It'll be interesting to see how the event finale goes, though.

I know it cannot be because of my computer. First it cannot be a spyware thing, because it happens on Linux too (and spywares do not work on Linux). Second, the same thing happens on 2 different computers. One of them has a quad care processor at 3 Ghz, 2 radeon HD3870x2 cards, 4Gb of Ram at 1333Ghz, and GW (and the OS) is on SAS hard disk drives (in case you don't you, they're twice as fast as regular SATA disks). And of course, everything is defragmented when I'm on Windows. So yes, the problem comes from ANET's servers.

With my ISP being in North America, playing on Euro servers after this maintenance have been dreadful. Little jitters happen, it almost seems like packet loss, or it's just between the min ping and the max difference being so high, as you can see here.
Max ping in Germany is 289, that's horrid. The kicker is that the end server, Anet's servers are still based in Texas. Therefor because the playerbase is European dominated, I have to be looped around another continent and back. I'm not talking about playing in PVE either because if I was I have control over which server I play on. In PvP it is decided on the total amount of players in that instance and where they are from that decides the server you get.
