How many people want a-net to ban yeti sounds?

I had two yetis last night in LA spamming away. It's funny how almost everyone surrounding them two started to tell them to leave LA or try and trick them to logout.

Good thing my sound setting was off.. (was listening to my Ipod Touch) so I didn't hear how crazy it gets.

I think a simple sound change for the yeti is all that necessary.

I have not had the pleasure yet but are they really that bad sounding? I just loaded up and went looking for a yeti but no joy

Since the sound is attached to the emote, I wouldn't be opposed to a-net disabling the sounds when your emotes are unchecked in the chat box. This way anyone who doesn't want to hear it unchecks emotes, and those who want to hear it still can, and the tonic users can still play with emotes to their hearts content.

Having said that though, I'm not entirely sure how much coding that solution would take.

Lol, a certain person whose certain name starts with a certain letter "m" seems to be getting to people.
I personally find it hilarious at how pissed off people get about this.
GW music has like what, two different songs that just repeat?
The battle music, and then the not really doing anything music.
...
I should go make an "Add more music to the game" thread.

Yetti sounds are irritating and NO we should not have to go to international districts because people yeti spam. Tonics were a horrible idea to begin with, but now we are stuck with it. I would rather have an option to turn them off all together.

Nice going though, we all know you're a genius once you start calling everyone names.

The point is: Show me anyone who likes the sound of yeti spam, who listens to it at full volume (meaning doesn't turn it off) for at least several minutes.

Also, playing without sound effects seriously hinders your effectiveness, whenever you like it or not.

Oh goodness. Are people so bored with Guild Wars that they have taken up *****ing about the smallest details instead of playing the game? If you really are that bored, go ahead and quit the game.

I dream of a future where games had a special menu (a setting menu if you will) where people can adjust sounds and what not.

Nobody, in the entire thread (except for you) mentioned the MUSIC.
First two sentences were about the yeti tonic.
Other two sentences were about the lack of music in the game.
The point was, with the lack of music, there's no reason to even keep it on.
I wasn't referring to just the music bar, I meant the entire options panel in general.
Just keep it off and quit bitching.

Every time you enter a town, change your audio setting and then put it back when you're actually playing, try it yourself first.

Skeletonics are borderline, but the Yetis are just...beyond. Sounds should either be removed completely, or we should have an option to disable tonic sounds.

So you want more sounds and more everlasting tonics? Because if it were truly reverse psychology you would have said make more sounds and make more everlasting tonics.

As for the sounds, that is why I have music or some ambient noise so I don't have to listen to GW sounds.

Like I said Pwnd, I usually have my sound setting off. Most of the time while playing GW, I'll be on vent or listening to music on my Ipod.

Still the sounds can get on your nerves. I made one mistake before, had the volumes on high while a yeti was spaming away. Let's just say, I will never put my volume on high again when I see a yeti!

Anyhow, for all people that don't agree with removal of yeti sound (option or just plain removal): I want you to turn on your sound and ask a Yeti owner to spam sounds for you. Listen to it for at least 5 minutes and see if you haven't gone mad yet.

Virtually no one (cause there are still screwed up people) actually likes to listen to "yeti orgy" spam. Turning off the sound/leaving doesn't justify it because you're forcing 99% of GW population to do it.

LoL...

Well, I was on a district where two yetis were spamming... And It didn't bother me (and yes, I had the sound turned on). I found it rather funny lol.

I guess you're special then. Try it again, see if you still find it hilarious for, say, another 10 minutes.

Even a good song gets annoying after a while... and that's nowhere close to being "good".

I'm someone that needs really more than that to get annoyed.

Add to the Yeti sound : insults, name calling and whisper harrassment and then I will get mad. Otherwise, they're having fun, so I let them have.

And if I really get annoyed, I'll just change district or turn off my sound. It's as simple as that.

PS : I was on the disctrict for at least 20 minutes, chatting around

Ps2 : And yes, I have a special psychology, I don't deny it.

So you are suggesting that we have to FLEE from the spammers then and get rid of our speaker sound when they show up? Let me guess, are you the sort of people that are afraid of confrontations?

I mean rather than fixing the problem, you prefer to stick your head in the ground and hopes it goes away?

I'm not the sort of people afraid of confrontations, be sure of that. But this thread isn't about me, or what I think or what I do.

I said that in this case, it didn't bother me, end of the line.

Now, an intelligent solution would be to allow to turn On/Off the tonic sound. That way, they could still have fun with their sound and people wouldn't be "forced" (let's word it that way, since nobody is forced to do anything) to turn off their sound completely.

Well you certainly sounded like you were afraid to confront the issue. Simply suggesting the rest of us to flee the district and running away from our problems is not a good long term solution because sooner or later, you would face the same problem again since you are only postponing it.

I rather confront the problem and fix this issue head on, so that people can still experience the ambient sounds in town without being forced to turn off their PC sound effects. The game provides sound effects in town and the people have a right to their sound effects without being annoyed by someone else.

My only regret is that the Yeti Tonic wasnt around during Halloween.
That way we could cause all the puckered butt holes in GW to QQ at the same time.

GAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLL take that mad king.

Somebody call the Waaaaambulance. I believe that Yeti just sat on the mad king.

But for real. The only place i ever saw yeti spamming /sit was in Urgoz. and i stood next to them and /cheered them on. I thought it was funny.

Maybe ill try walking around with a clenched corn hole for a day. That way i might be able to relate to the people who QQ about stuff like this.

*tightens rectum*
ooh its working.
QQ I hate the sound of Yetis
QQ I dont wanna turn down my sound
QQ I dont wanna ignore it
QQ I dont wanna change discticts
QQ It's not fair *stomps feet*

I can now relate to this thread. Touche

Some of you guys have what seems to be a Yeti fetish. You should organise Yeti evenings where you can turn eachother on with those zexy sounds.

To the loosers who just enjoy annoying others: Go see a therapist or GTFO. That sort of behaviour doesn't do the GW community any good. No matter what excuse you bring in, just no.

EDIT: the problem is they stand in populated places like Kamadan, better know as spamadan because of the trade going on. If three of those fruitcakes are just there to annoy people, we loose 3 spots of possible buyers/sellers.

lol awesome Well put.

I would like to gather up all the losers who enjoy annoying others. We can start a Guild called Losers Enjoy Annoying Others [LEAO]

Our goal is to find all the people who get annoyed easily and annoy the crap out of them until they /ragequit GW. That way you can run around and have fun without having to worry about tripping over a stick that is protruding from someones hind quarters.

Me personally, I've never had an everlasting tonic, but if someone will provide me with the most annoying one I will support [LEAO]

But unless GW will stop being such Srz Bznz, i regretfully doubt this will ever happen.

You'll have to come up with something better than that to make me /ragequit.

It's not about serious business, it's about the fun factor and a somewhat more enjoyable community. Because you know, lots of people play this game to have fun without annoying others or getting annoyed by others. I'm talking Chinese now right?

It's just not cool, not funny.
