Wasn't particularly in need for extra storage, so I'm happy to see some more new stuff is going to be implemented. Zaishen Quests sounds interesting (with proper rewards), and the Zaishen Manegerie sounds promising too.

On a seperate note, when I first read that they were charging for storage tabs I was surprised and a little taken aback, but I think these things about it:
* Optional extras you don't >have< to buy are way better than a monthly fee, the company still has a stream of money, but players can choose of their own free will if they want to pay.
* As some other people pointed out, the 'junk' we store will just expand to fill the available space so you could just try living without it and spend no money.
* The main thing I was hoping for was the ability to store several different types of armour and also weapons - and we all get that for every character for free - woot

The price per pane just seems ridiculous compared to buying a new character or account for that matter, especially when you take into account these new gear bags. It should be $5 to even approach the same benefit of buying a character slot.
What would be really awesome- if these gear bags can take the same spot of regular bags and give more slots (15-20). Then you'd have a ton of new inventory space if you sort it right. Either way this is awesome for those of us carrying around tons of PvP equipment swaps. New requested feature: when weapon swapping, equipment should try to go to this bag if there is room. That would make organizing so much easier...

Like I can get a dire phoenix on one character, add it to the menagerie, and then any other character can take it out for a spin... including pvp chars? A very welcome addition then. Now all I need is a space for lvl 5 wolf for IWAY.

I'm concerned about the 'promotional' nature of the free storage tab. We here in Oz tend to miss out on promotional stuff as we aren't America, we aren't Europe and we aren't Asia (I'm looking at you collectors ed of Prophecies!!!

Well finally the promised update is here. I expected to pay some money for the extra features, but not $9.99. Compared to a new character slot, my money would be best invested in one of those.
As far as the promotion, if its going to be like the bonus missions that supposedly where available for a short time and then made available later... well we'll see.
I have to say, thank you anet at least for the space given to store my armor. I do believe $9.99 for a tab is way too expensive. I think $5.00 would have been a better "fair" prize. I'll just go with the extra slot. That would get me a free mini and I can play with that one too.

Or you could be playing Smedley's new model of RMT for SOE that makes some of the best items ingame only available by purchasing packs of virtual cards for an entirely separate game.
Seriously, ANet is the least corporate greed driven company I've played.

I guess I was under the impression that our storage was going to be significantly increased as part of the 'free' April Update content. Giving us 1 equipment pack per character (realistically, the max size equipment pack cannot be that large) and one extra Xunlai Storage tab, that is apparently not the case. I won't be overpaying for extra Xunlai tabs. The hell with $40 for 4 tabs. I just spent $30 on 4 tabs, 8 mules, a materials tab, and XTH monthly points on an extra GW Trilogy account about two months ago. I'll hold out for another similar deal, most likely.
The rest of what's been noted sounds pretty interesting. Hopefully these Zaishen bounties actually require more skill to accomplish than simple, basic requests to do the same thing over and over. (ie. Don't ask me to just go and do Sanctum Cay again. Ask me to do Sanctum Cay with added mission modifiers, such as Healing Prayers skills disabled and our party getting hit for 3x the elemental damage. Stuff like that.)

"Mission quests send you to replay storyline missions from each campaign." - This would be cool if it gives experienced players an incentive to go and redo missions, because new players sometimes find it hard to find a group to do a mission. For sure lots of people re-doing these missions won't care for PUG'ing with people playing through the game but some will. More people re-playing existing PvE content is a good thing for the health of the game.

Well, as the GW model is not pay-per-month (like others that shall remain nameless) I guess they have to make their money somewhere. Micro transactions are it unfortunately. I personally won't be paying more than $10 bucks for extra storage - don't forget that we here in Oz can only pay in british pounds and *that* exchange rate sucks. I'd rather have the option to pay in USD even though that rate sucks too.
Mind you, I'm still sore about the GotY edition with the "free" igneous summoning stone. I own the GotY edition, I've bought motza stuff thru the in-game store, how DARE you try to charge me an extra $5 bucks because i apparently don't qualify for it! Grrr...

well seeing that we are getting another equipment pack for weapons and armor for our characters, i would imagine its 20 slots like the backpack in the game. As for the Zunlai Chest tabs being made purchasable and at $10 a pop, it does kinda suck, but we cant complain too much cuz, like i said we are getting another backpack, and they DID mention that there will be a limited offer for a free tab for the Zunlai Chest during the 4th anniversary celebrations. So if im reading it right we can have up to 9 tabs for account based storage which means 180 total spots open for storage. Thats plenty of room for $40.
As for the "Zoo" i think this might tie in with our rumored HoM update that we have been hearing about as well. It has been noted that only one pet can be displayed in the HoM monument, this might allow us to display more than one, say Black Moa, White Moa, Rainbow Phoenix, Tiger, and Iguana all at the same time. Be kinda neat.
So lets just sit back and enjoy the Easter festivities that are going on right now, and look forward to cupcakes and the crowding of dist 1-3 of Kamadan as people sell their 4 year minipets to the rest of us

The Menagerie is basically a pet unlock station that will allow you to re-charm pets you've previously unlocked with it (and also lets PvP characters charm those pets you've unlocked). You don't lose your pet when you unlock it. There are different tiers that can be unlocked for each pet:
Tier 1: Level 1 - 11
Tier 2: Level 12 - 14 (unevolved or Elder)
Tier 3: Level 12 - 14 (Aggressive or Playful)
Tier 4: Level 15 - 19 (unevolved or Elder)
Tier 5: Level 15 - 19 (evolved)
Tier 6: Level 20 (Elder)
Tier 7: Level 20 (Dire or Hearty)
The rewards for Zaishen quests include Zaishen coins, XP, Gold, Faction or Titlepoints. All have Zaishen coins, the other rewards vary. The titlepoints relate to the mission involved. For instance, a Norn mission quest will give Norn title points.
ZCoins can be used to:
- Unlock pet tiers in the Menagerie
- Buy various things from collectors (vague)
- You can purchase ZKeys, for instance.
They are not tradable outside of your account.

I don't know what you people are complaining about. For me, having an extra storage space for armor on my main gives me a "free new tab" in storage. Having an extra storage space on my Monk gives him a clean inventory and holding space for all his armor, making him entirely more efficient. Well over half of my characters have additional armors and/or weapon sets that are taking up major space in inventory. If we get a 10 slot bag, ANet has given me a free $50 worth of their new storage tabs for doing nothing. On top of it, I imagine the promotional offer will be quite simple, bringing the free value up to $60.
So what they're offering you, by their price guide, is (if you have 10 characters):
-$60 in free extra storage

-Refreshing old content to make some areas worth doing again

The more I think about it the more out of this world I see the price per xunlai tab. Absuridiculous. 4 tabs = full price of a full campagin, just compare, wtf. I'm not even getting into uber discount full campagins we can find in some stores, but just compare to a simple character slot - 1 full character is a huge lot more data to be stored than just 20 items and it costs the same.
This is a clear example of what I call The Curse of Microtransations: the smaller the thing you get, the more you have to overpay for it.
Hope GW2 is as far from this model as possible, with only BIG content packages (expansions) sold and maybe minor extra optional services like character name change.

I always wondered why they didnt have some type of kennel or peting zoo for your animals and why you have to give them up to get a new one. I always figured they would, in time put something in the HoM or the GH to fix this but this is good enough. I hope it's like I'm figuring.
