I don't want to look through 12 pages of stuff, so I'm just gonna ask here.
When I tried to link my GW account to NCSoft's site, the password I use for my GW account is one character longer than what NCSoft's site allows to be put in!
I contacted support and they sent me the usual "give us your access keys and birthday, dad's name, mom's name, your twice removed cousin's mother's ex husband's cat's name, etc..." even though I told them what my problem was exactly.
How can this be solved? I'm not about to change my GW password just because of this.

EDIT: I hope Anet extends the promotional pane thing time wise, since it would suck not getting it just because NCSoft's site is messed up.

you don't need to change your game password

Well, how else can I make the password fit into that space?

wellyou said in your post that the password you usually use is one letter to long forthe box, so just use it one letter short

mmm.... GW allows 15 characters for passwords, NCSoft allows 14 in the "link my GW acc to NCSoft" section.
I tried writing my GW password in as far as it would go, but then it tells me the GW acc info is not correct and it won't link the accounts.

not only that, but why are you using the same username/password for your NC Soft Master account anyway?

I'm not using the same master account login as I use for GW!
It's the LINK YOUR GW ACCOUNT TO YOUR NCSOFT ACCOUNT page where I have the problem!
I cannot LINK because where you have to put in your GW info to link the accounts, NCSoft's site doesn't allow as long of a password to put in as my GW password is!

Minami,

I had the exact same problem, my GW account passwords were too long for the link page on NCSoft (stupid idiot web design, to say the least). It will take 12 characters, but not 14. So I had no choice but to reset my GW account passwords. Totally sucks, but that solved the problem so I could link the game account to the NCSoft account. Really low quality programmers, they should hire professionals (like me!)

I mean, come on, checking to make sure password size is compatible when setting this up should have been one of the top items on their check list. Such a basic mistake makes you wonder about security measures and so forth. Scary.

Minako,

Thanks for your reply ^_^
Yes, when I realized what was going on the first thing I thought of was "if I need to change my GW password to "fit" this site's space thing, would I even DARE to do that?"...
I am still not sure if I will do it, haha.

I was also thinking, like you said, if the make such a dumb mistake as this, how secure is everything? Little holes in the programming and BAM!

Anyways, thanks again.

If it helps any, regarding the 'guildwars password too long to link to NCSoft master account' issue, there is a workaround if you're using Firefox that doesn't involve changing your password at all.

Get the addon 'Web Developer' and install it. On the page where you need to enter your guildwars account info to link it to your master account; do the following:

-Go to 'tools' at the top
-Select 'Web Developer' -> Forms -> Select 'Remove Maximum Lengths'

You can now use your 'too long' password and link your guildwars account to your NCSoft master account. Worked just fine for me just now so it's just a form length issue and not a 'REAL' limitation with NCSoft game linking.

I'd like to mention something else related to account concerns. Why is it so easy to reset a password, its find someones email addy, apply it to GW login, and reset that accounts password. Surely you figure they would add a second step in order to do such a task. Giving anyone the right to hammer away at a password reset just isn't right.

The first time you enter the guildwars online store (in game) it asks you to make an NCSoft account, Thats the account you wanna get the free storage on. A while back I had the same problem till i figured out what account was linked to my GW account.

I'm in the same boat as you guys. Not only can I not remember my ncsoft account, I can't remember if I ever actually made one (I'm not sure if I ever bought anything from the store).

I don't care about the storage upgrade but I REALLY hope I won't need this information to tie my gw1 account to gw2
