From my knowledge, I don't remember ever making a NCSoft account yet when I tried to get the free storage tab and link my guild wars account, it told me that the game account is already linked to an existing NCSoft account.
The only thing I can think of where I may have made an NCSoft account is through the in-game online store. Am I right? Is it possible that is where I could have done it? I don't ever remember making an account even through the in-game store though.

You could do a retrieve forgot password? thing. but im not sure if they will give you your master account username. so that could be another thing.
For me I almost forgot I did, but i checked my email and I emailed support a long time ago about something and I remembered that, that was through my master account.
check I guess through retrieve.

Yeah that doesn't work from my knowledge since they ask you to enter in your NCSoft account name.
It's killing me because I don't remember ever making one. Can anyone verify if you have to make one when you buy stuff in the in-game online store?

Yes and after the investigation page has failed to load a certain number of times you get this message:
"We are sorry. You have exceeded the number of allowed attempts to change your password. Please try again later."

I think by the way your new account name is the first part of your email address.

not really, if i remember correctly those nc soft acc names were 7-13 spaces long and needed a combination of numbers and letters.
it was 3 years ago when i made it, and got no email wich says wich acc name i made so it's next to impossible for me to track down.
Tough i do have some guesses at what it can be, but the site is down so that doesn't matter at all

When the Ingame Store for Guild Wars was implemented everyone had to make an account for it, which now is your NC Soft account. (Good luck remembering what you had, I only remembered mine by pure luck after trying for months to log into NC Soft.)

Yeah, I do not remember my information. Another scheme by NCsoft to cause in-game griefing. Because they have those "If and only if" little fixes for getting the good stuff.
^ How about where they direct you to http://help.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin and only that, and you get 403 forbidden. Epic failure from NCsoft? I shall let you all be the judge.

The NCSoft store is too restrictive. Please make the promo also available in the In-Game store as well!
I can't get access to the store because I'm in the wrong region of the World (China) and therefore I'm blocked from buying anything from it.
The other problem is: do I still remember my NCSoft account password?

i think i made account once to get bmp but when i saw i missed the dateline i never bothered with site again and that was months after it came out. i cant get the site to check if i did make one to open. and i tried to make a account but every name i thought up the page wouldnt accept it.
and all my perchases where from a retail store or given to me by a friend. so does this mean im otta luck getting the pane? and is the access key tiny slip in the boxes the numbers the support page talks about?

Haha yea, well the problem is that potentiallty, not positive though, you can still have an account thats listed by an email address. I had to switch mine when i beta'd Tabula Rasa and played Exteel.
But i hadn't used the acct name in like over a yea, so i had no recollection till i remember i played Exteel. I downloaded and tried every username and password combination i think i've used in the past 4 years, till i logged in. For some reason, i had the hunch that my exteel acct name was the same as my ncsoft username, and it was. only took like 4 hours to figure out. haha.
But yea, its a pain in the ass to get the free pain, all because the website is slow. I don't really know why they made us use the plaync store instead of the in-game store though....

I must have made one at some point, because I've got similar issues with not being able to track what account my game is tied to. I'll probably have to get in touch with support a number of times to get it sorted out.

Yea i'm not sure they ever sent a confirmation email of your acct. Hell I have a support ticket from '07 and a several guru registrations that date back further still stuffed away on my one email account, but no account information.
And unforunately that support ticket was pre-account names back when ncsoft used email address still. That really pissed me off when i found that ticket and was like YES i got my acct name. WRONG. Was such a slap in the face. haha

I will never buy any additional content from the ncsoft store because of this. and the site never working? what did they expect? there are 6 million guild wars users, you would think they would expect those users to try and get on the site and get this free pane. again if something is going to be free why not just activate it on everyones accounts? it is after all free for all users right?

I have the same....I never use it so completely forgot my account details...already contacted support who said they'd get back in 24 hours...don't think that's gonna happen because that time is pretty much up.

I'm in the same boat. I have no recollection of ever creating an NCsoft account. I did manage to get a ticket started and have already received a promising answer by a real person, asking me for more information. I started my ticket almost a full day before the free storage was revealed though, for other reasons than to get free storage. I hope I'll stay ahead of the pack. 
One thing thing that might hugely impact players with this issue, I suspect that down the line, when GW2 arrives, we'll need access to our NCsoft master accounts to connect GW2 with our GW accounts. If some players can't, there will be hell to pay, and the magnitude of messageboard anger will be unprecedented.

See, I remember making a PlayNC account, but...I remember my account name being my email address.
However, going through my emails, I can find no record of it whatsoever. And obviously I can't log in using my email address as it's longer than the username box.
Sigh.
Edit: And of course, once I finally do remember what my username was, the site stops loading again. *facedesks*

whats funny is I got the ncsoft site to send me my password one way and it gave my username and password and showed my login username as my email address even though it won't let me log in that way. thats helpful. so apparently its impossible to log into my account now because they changed the way you log in or something?

I finally remembered my username (well I think it's my username because the secret questions look familiar), but cant remember my password...When I can *finally* get the 'Forgot Password?' screen up, I think I know my secret question answers but then it asks you to type in the number/letters that the image shows...but no image shows ><

When you purchase something from the In Game Store for the first time is when you create your PlayNc account, you just dont know it, I wrote them about that some years ago and they just gave me the info I needed to log in.
