Same for me!! linked to another account, will not email me account information. Did a support ticket and it told me that it would be done in the order received the next business day. So who knows. wait till monday and and see what happens i guess. You would think that they our have had this worked out a little better then this. they knew there would be a flood of people for this.

You guys got room on that boat for me? I think I even know the email address I probably made the ncsoft account with (which I can't really remember doing), but because I can't remember the "Account Name" there's no option to simply send my login info to that email address. If they had that simple option, like many other websites do, I think a lot of us wouldn't be having such a hard time.

Can someone confirm the rumors I keep hearing that this mess is the result of people using the in-game store without making an NCsoft account by themselves beforehand, having one automatically made for them?
It fits my own memory of what went down when I first used the in-game store. I'd heard I needed to make an NCsoft account first, but I interpreted that as "or you won't be able to use the store" not as "or you'll regret not doing so." So, I didn't make an account, I just used the in-game store and expected to be prompted to make one at some point during the check-out. I never was.
Has ANet commented yet, this being a weekend notwithstanding?

what I did, was send an email to support and told them my email and access keys, they reset my account password and sent an email with my login name as well, only took about a day to get resolved.

I have the same problem, i only made one ncsoft account and i get the message my gw account is linked to another account...

I dont recall ever making one. Now it tells me that I have already linked my account with a PlayNC account. Asked for lost password, they reset it for me.. no problem there, and I was able to log on and (once again)reset password as required, and Im still getting the crap of account being linked....I have tried to hit the support button for more help and all I get is back to square 1. Would have been so much less frustration for us AND them if they would have just implemented the storage with the update. I do believe...there are going to be a few thousand of us out there that can not get the storage im sad to say....

Hello all, I have the same problem too, i have never purchased anything via the online store but reading the recent posts makes me believe i know where the problem lies.
I think its those free drm music that came with the collector's edition of guildwars factions and for a bit was offered to all GW users, i remember i had the music on my system before removing it, while technically it wasnt a purchase i dimly remember you had to sign up, beats me what i used to sign up to activate those drm'd songs but that was 3 years, several reinstalls of XP and two computers ago.
So i am guessing thats where the linking happened.

Count me in as another person on the boat. I never made a NCsoft account for GW and never bought anything from the store. I have the original emails from my old account welcoming me to GW and even the emails confirming I changed my email address still no luck. I sent a request to support on the 23rd and still no response.

Add me to the ark, too. I've never so much as bought from the in-game store, yet it appears that I had an account automatically created. I possibly vaguely recall a prompt when the in-game store was first introduced - and I decided to check it out - with something about account information, but that's it. Obviously I did end up creating an account, since I have an email from PlayNC in my inbox from a couple years ago, but not so much as a notification that I created an account.
This was such a bad decision on Anet's part. First with automatically creating an account for people, with no notification whatsoever, and then tying our GW account to it. Then, of course, it appears they have changed the account system between then and now. Again, without so much as an email to previously existing accounts that such changes were made, and to do X,Y, and Z to update your account to the new system.
Whether or not they knew of the problem beforehand, or if the free storage upgrade brought to light the issue, I do not know. But I don't see any reason why we have to go through the NCsoft store for the free storage; it would have been a lot easier had we just needed to talk to an NPC in-game.
They could have issued some sort of statement, as well. Considering this has gone on for 3 days now, they would have to know about it, and all the problems it's causing. But, for the time being, they have their head in the sand. As long as they don't say anything, they are most definitely not aware of the trainwreck of a promotion [/sarcasm]

I was unsuccessful logging in after multiple attempts so I used the password reset feature. Turns out the new site does not accept symbols for passwords, which made logging in impossible to do. My original password contained symbols as well as alpha-numeric characters. The old password hint Q & A also allowed you to choose your own question as well as the answer, but the new site has the generic general questions. More than half of the answers could be easily determined with an identity search if someone knew your real name and if you answer them correctly. I chose answers with no relation to the questions. I was able to reset my account without assistance, but the error was on NCSoft's part.
Overall, account security has decreased again with the new NCSoft site.

I just discovered a friend has just been perma-banned. What was his offense, you ask? Anet says he committed fraud - by buying two storage panes for his account through NCSoft. Considering what I know about his background and his integrity, I would guess that either he mis-typed something or their system is that fubar. Although I'd think that if there was a mis-type, the system would have notified him he'd erred rather than Support getting their stickies on it.
So, give Anet money, you run the risk of a perma-ban. I suppose he should be grateful they deigned to give him any sort of reason since they may not at their discretion.

I dont know if Arena Net made a deal with NCSoft to attract people to their new site with the free promotion, but the only thing they're currently getting is bad publicity. Why can't we just get it from In-Game store.

Same problem here. I was all excited because the NCsoft sight was finally working today, only to discover that my game account was already linked to another account... that I don't recall making. If I'm reading this correctly, one was created for me when I pre-ordered GWEN from the in-game store. Which I only did to get the BMP.
So, apparently participating in their last promotion screwed me for this one. Awesome sauce.
It would have been really great if they'd sent us a registration email from NCsoft when they took the liberty of making accounts for us, since I save them all. But since they haven't I guess I'd better hope I can find my nearly four year old Prophecies key so I have it when Support get's around to emailing me back. At this point I'm about ready to tell them to stick it in their eye. I'd really hate to be on the NCsoft support staff right about now.

I was one of those ppl whose account name was my email address, which of course doesn't fit any more. I sent the ticket on Friday night, got my response Sunday evening. They did ask for all my keys, and amazingly I found them all. Once I sent that in, it was resolved within the hour. Interestingly they treated it as a lost pw, when in fact I knew that but needed to know what my acct name was, however that was listed with the new pw.
Here's some advice: my new acct name was my gw account name minus spaces to 12 chars. For example, if my account name was Corvette Stingray, my NCSoft acct name would be CorvetteStin

It worked exactly like that for one of my guildies. Unfortunately, my GW account doesn't start with a letter and that's what NCsoft names need to start with. Good advice, but I can't apply it to my situation.

I guess I am a lucky one. I had the original emails saved from NCsoft for my accounts. Was able to remember the pwords and the site ran pretty smooth last night. Got the free panes on both accts.

I'm in the same boat myself. It keeps saying my account has been linked to another plaync account. It won't let you use the same email address for two accounts and I only use the one email address for these things so I know for sure I have only made one plaync account.
Like many others I have sent a ticket to support but with the volume of issues I doubt I'll get a swift response.

What a miserable failure the free storage promo is...everyone should get it pushed to their account automatically. Whoever thought this up should be FIRED! The ncsoft website is terribly contrived and there shuld be no excuse for these technical glitches....

Because of all the promotions and activity going on at the NCsoft website over the past week (City of Heroes, GW, Steam), support's experiencing a big increase in the amount of tickets. It seems that a significant number of GW players are trying to retrieve lost or forgotten NCsoft Master Account info or have other account concerns. The support team is working on the queue of tickets as fast as they can. We apologize for the delay. Support will take care of each individual's ticket as soon as they are able to do so.

Huge thanks for the fast response and reset of the password. I put my ticket in the morning after the update and got my reset email this evening. It puts my mind at ease to have my master account login info. I wish everyone else here best of luck and speedy replies. Thanks again!

I just hope Anet keeps the promotion going long enough to give everybody who's having account issues to participate. I'm still dealing with support.
