It's funny, there are lots of unranked players for unranked players to play with, and unranked players don't play with unranked players, because they think they'll lose, which ironically, is why unranked don't want to play with unranked players, but unranked players complain about discrimination and elitism.

Stop looking for shortcuts in areas that by design demand you take the long and hard road. If you don't want to take it, then don't. But don't blame the people who decided they were willing to withstand the road. Blame yourself for not wanting to do it.

I would agree to this in that most of the unranked's don't even show up anymore(outside of zquest day), if you get lucky you might find one unranked team that gets farmed by all the better teams and disbands pretty quick. Also there are unranked's that generally know what to do and are competent and those that can't even do the basics no matter how much you tell them.

Of course there is no way of telling the difference, so (understandably) there is elitism. Despite being a good monk, I have only played HA on and off and thus have a lowly rank 5, which made it really hard to get into teams. I managed to solve the problem by persuading some of my guildies to HA during off-peak GvG hours however that doesn't really help anyone else.

Unlike back when the game was new it is almost impossible for unranked's to get any sort of rank without decent contacts. So whilst I don't think the good players should have to help/carry unranked's just to make them happy, I think all the "we've done all the hard work, let them suffer now" is ridiculous.

"He's a bot. Report him!!!" or something along that line.

I love playing mind games w/ people. When I'm working on something, I just sit in town all day and repeat the same message over and over that I know will annoy people. After about 30min..people begin to think I'm a bot. To add to the humor and make them think I'm really a bot, I say something like Bot v0.1 and then people respond "TOLD U HE WAS A BOT!!!" and I laugh

LOL!!!!

Player X: WTS Darkwing Defender q8/Ar 13, gold, 150e.

Me: Are you sure its Ar 13, not 16? ( I thought he/she might type wrong in the AD, just wanna remind him/her.)

Player X: I'm sure its not 16, do u think I'm stupid?

Me: Well, ok, but selling a req8/Armor 13 shield for 150e is way more stupid!

I had a similar one. A guy was spamming non-stop in local Kamadan that he was looking for a Droknar's Curses Focus. I pm'd him and told him that unless he really wanted that particular skin, he could get a nice 20/20 collector's focus in exchange for 5 Warden Horns. I even offered to GIVE HIM 5 Warden Horns for free. He was rather rude to me saying that "collector's weapons are worthless". Yeah because the green Droknar's focus is THAT much better.... :eyeroll:

While reading through these anecdotes, I've recalled an incident that happened sometime after the release of Factions in the golden age of Guild Wars. As our low-level party made its way through the Northern Shiverpeaks, a party member asked me what staff I was wielding. I pinged it: it was an Insightful Spiritbinder, a bonus item. He didn't believe me, he thought that I had deliberately typed that line just to deceive him, because to his knowledge only Canthan characters could own that staff. Needless to say, he flamed me extensively for not telling him where I "really" got my staff from.

Funny, the memories that can burden one's mind for years.

In fairness, he could have been a Green collector. It wouldn't excuse the rudeness though.

Earlier today, pugging the zquest, got a gold drop...

In most cities when people decide to have a 'tonic' war and start giving out tonics to random people to join in on their 'tonic' war I see people mooching tonics off people who gives it away, all and all, you're asking for it, but some gives this really corny line, something like this.

"Losing connection, entering a dark tunnel, connection loss at 20%, etc" and then either exit or zones to another place or just sticks around.

What's up with that?

Other than that, mostly everything said in any part of Guild Wars, but say what everyone wants. People trolling and being silly in the game is what keeps the towns interesting.

I've been trying to find a guild that teaches HA on and off all week in various places and I havn't found a single one. If you'd like to inform me where I can start this hard path would be great, otherwise saying that rank isn't keeping new people from joining in HA is complete BS. and RA is crap, don't tell me to start there.

Yeah lol agree. We would be glad to take the long road, if there was one. The second you flash anything below rank 6 in there, youre out. Heck even rank 3's dont want to party with a no ranker.

There is basically no way to do it without getting into a high rank guild from a friend. Or unless u can find enough low rank players that will spend time playing it, which probably wont happen

Considering the amount of people bitching about not being able to get into HA, there's plenty of people to play with. stop expecting ranked players to want to play with you if you won't even play with other unranked.

You realize you can start your own groups right? Or as I said above, stop being picky and just play with other unranked players, or randomway. I don't see how you all expect ranked players to want to play with you when you won't even play with other unranked players. Getting started is a bit of a pain, yes, but not nearly as much as the usual whiny, no initiative populace complain about it being.

Thats bullshit, of course we can start our own groups. Most of the time we get ignorant assholes and people that dont give a shit about the game.

Of course i know why ranked players dont want to play with unranked players, but you cant sit there and say unranked players arnt trying.

Lets see you get to rank 6 in randomway groups. It pretty much is not possible without ranked friends anymore.

you don't need to get to r6 in randomway. you just need to not play like a retard, and you either a: slowly accrue fame and get a bambi, which in turn, helps you get into one of the less common r3+ teams, or find an HA guild with a low rank req, or b: meet other decent players to group with later, running better shit than randomway.

GW1 PvP community no longer welcomes PvE players because a learning curve exists, and bad sentiment (elitism) on part of PvP players dictates. What do you expect from newbies who are trying to be assholes like you?

Anyway, just forget about GW1 PvP and let it rot nicely. PvP ranks doesn't even mean shit in PvE anyway. OOh look, I have a tiger...my epeen is over the clouds! If you really want to do PvP, just wait for a few more months for GW2 PvP. It will be a blast for sure, everyone will be newbies and discriminations may not exist. Until then, go find a better game and enjoy if you are also done with PvE.

I see your point about randomways and I'll start trying that more often. Last randomway group I was in had a defy pain warrior.

But how am I supposed to start my own group when I have no idea what sort of classes I need? Why would anyone ranked want to group with me once they realize this?

No problem with elitist attituds putting novice PvP players off here then

I don't think that was elitism. I think that was an "I'm tired of hearing whining." reaction.
His point was valid. No one's going to run you through PvP like they do dungeons in PvE. You have to take some initiative, and the fact that many people don't is why whining about rank discrimination still exists.

You have to deal with a lot of BS, yes, but if you're any good at all, you'll be able to learn from it. The main thing is just sticking to it. also, if you decide to form your own teams, just look at great working HA builds on PvX. After a while you should get the hang of things.

So you think people should want to play with people who play like idiots? I didn't really say shit about rank, and it's not elitist. if someone doesn't even have the motivation to look into basic pvp tactics, etc, then they obviously don't care enough to get into pvp, nor should they be there. the ones who actually bother learning basic stuff, and playing around in RA or something to get at least the basics down are the people that should be pvping, not the people who just decide out of the blue that they're bored of pvp and want to go join an r6+ team with no rank or experience. that's not how shit works.

I seek out decent unranked players and can usually find a few, but its rare to find a team of unranked players that know what pvp is or even know what guildwars is. Most of the time its someone new that has never played before. Dont get me wrong, I have nothing against newbies but its just tough to try to teach them, and then find out after 2 hours of teaching that they dont "feel" like doing HA anymore. Its just extremely time constraining to even find a team that can win the Zaishen fight.

Also, If there is a single team/guild that would get anyone below a r5 that they dont know, id be surprised.

His point is still valid, no matter how he displayed it. Elitism aside, the fact is, with the inability for most players to get into r6 groups, they don't take the iniative to make their groups. Everyone has the ability to find what builds are used and how to use them. It takes an open mind and dedication which many people in this game have and had for a long time.

In a way I'm glad that someone else noticed this guy, I thought it was just me.

A long time ago I got in to a group with this monk in a 6-man area (aurora glade HM) and got raged at so hard for not tanking that he flipped out and left.
Sadly, I don't see how I was supposed to "tank" moss scarabs with vampiric touch skills - we didn't have Can't Touch This! on any of our bars.
