So What Are We Doing at the Moment?

I just posted this on my wiki blog:

Here’s a heads-up on some of the things we’re working on:

* Removing Heroes from GvG and HA. This is something that many players have been asking for for a long time. We still want people to be able to participate in the action even if they can’t field a full team, so we will replace Heroes with a bunch of new Henchmen. We are currently working on the details, so we can’t give you a concrete timeline, but we do know that we want you to be involved. We’re looking for suggestions on the skills you want to see for those Henchmen, so start thinking about those skill bars!

* Introducing a Guild Wars Live Test Krewe to help test upcoming updates and skill changes. We’re opening up the testing process to players, and if you are selected you will be able to access our test server and directly interact with our developers! We’ll put up an application form on our website once we finalize all the details. Two things in advance: due to legal reasons, you need to be at least 18 if you want to apply, and you need to speak and write English fluently.

That's all for now. I hope you like what we have in store!

Suggestion, it might be possible to tweak heroes AI so that they are going to be less efficient in pvp scenarios?
If not, wouldn't it be better (it is because it is actually done) to prevent heroes from using certain skills therefore hindering their total efficiency?

2 You're two updates too late.
Giving player feedback more credit would be even better.

Don't care about the PvP section. No offense, never have. Doubt I ever will.

Number two seems like a pretty good idea given some of the issues of the past two updates. I have to disagree with Kiera on it being too late. Late, certainly, but not too late unless this was the last update planned.
It'll increase the size of the testing base for free, and solidify relationships with players who might be feeling a bit let down. I like it.

(Yeah, I plan to apply when they go up. How did you guess?)

I was being sarcastic about A-net failing to notice two game breaking bugs in the past two updates and using us players as beta-testers instead.

I got both covered. I'm 22 and I also completed college with an English degree, so I can speak and write (and type) quite well too.

Both ideas are sound.

Test Krewe sounds too Asuran. I would rather vote for Ebon Bugguard.

Will there be a NDA on skill tests or other things that the testers experience on the test server?

I dunno. Too homophonic with "Ebon Buggered" which some of the carebears might find offensive, but could be wildly appropriate, considering the nature of software development. ^_^

Keira, while both decisions may be overdue, they are both also progress.

Good plans that the devs make the community aware of trump poor plans that do not see the light of day until they are added as updates.

Very interesting. I never expected either to happen, especially number 2. I never thought heros should have been allowed in HA or GvG to begin with.

It's good to see that they're making a conscientious effort to listen and now giving players more representation in update feedbacks. Unfortunately I will not be 18 until later this year, but I know that there will be alot of knowledgeable ppl applying so that my concerns are assuaged.

I don't know if I can bring myself to join something called a Krewe, but I guess I can try for this

Sounds good, having a Test Krewe would certainly help Guild Wars out. The removal of Heroes from GvG and HA would also be great.

Because Ultimately they know is that is the players that run the game.. they just gave us the template to run it on

I like that Regina is posting updates on what's being worked on. Those bits of information however small are greatly appreciated.
