Got one from him, but the mesmer and his buddy were the only hydras that i saw throughout the whole area. You may be thinking of Skyward reach? that has hundreds of hydras, but it's not overly suprising at the lack of claws I got from Prophets.

And some more.

I missed the actual vanquish shot, but if you check the top left hand corner, and on the more detailed pic below, in the chat log then you can see it's Vanquished.

Just Working my way through crystal desert So i thought i'd contribute this to the forum, being the generous person I am.

And the unadulerated image:

@ Xiao:
I'm not one for organisation. I was only going to kill a few things initially but i realised that the area seemed pretty easy so i had a go at Vanquishing it, and it worked.

All the same, glad to see someone appreciates it. Prophet's was a killer vanquish

Do you think it'll be possible to do this with Assassin primery?
I know there are better options for sins, but my main is sin and this looks FUN!
Maybe Dark Escape to help survive instead of bond? sins won't have energy for it anyway :P

I love this build, i currently use it for farming most of the underworld. Only part thats difficult is the chaos planes... its do able.. but very very challenging. You would have to have some other players with you to do so. I usually take a friend with me who has a ele that just does Savannah heat.

I gotta try my necro. He has higher ranking in everything.

Me and bro cleared a fair chunk of the UW last night, I was using this build (as a R/Rit) and he was trapping (also a Ranger).

We cleared the Labyrinth, Forgotten Vale, Ice Wastes, and Mountains without any problems.
Only stopped because it was getting late

I didn't time it but it was less than 2 hours to do this.

I was thinking Bodhalz Fury staff, but does anyone have any better suggestions?

Thanks for any and all suggestions

Whatever, as long as it's got +20 energy. The majority of the bar is summoning rituals, so HSR/HCT ain't gonna do you no good.

I use a flatbow for pulling, +5e. Switch to +20 staff should you need it, and hiding the 15 energy is useful in some circumstances, eg Tombs.

I managed the build pretty well, but I couldn't beat the second group of Smites. There were five of them in the group and they killed stuff fast while healing a lot. Any help? Ive seen on the youtube that others are having a similar problem.

I'm using a N/RT build with 10 resto, 10 channel, 8 communing and 8 Soul reaping. I'm also using Painful bond, which I realize is useless vs the Smites but its handy elsewhere.

The thing I found is with large groups you need to hope that your spirits will all target the same one. It takes forever solo for them to do it. And it takes a lot of new placed spirits to finally kill one off and reduce the group to a more manage size. Pain inverter would be nice if they did not spam hex removal like they do unfortunately. So that leaves 1 option... bring a hero helper. Trappers help in all areas but get in the way after the initial trap set. Another option is a spirit pooper I have brought a rit that specializes in Communing and blasts them with more spirits. Keep in mind I keep shadowsong on me it is too important not to. I lay my line flag the hero behind me force her to lay a couple spirits (the ones with longer life spans. Then agro with bow. Once in combat she will place spirits on her own. I am sure a ROJ monk would help with dispatching them but you would carefully have to manage the flags to keep out of harms way.

I've been doing this build with my mate for fun. He uses a W/RT and I use a N/RT and we both go and do different areas. I'm wondering though if there is a build that would support this spirit one? I can only think of things like brining Painful Bond and Agony and Wanderlust while the other person uses the orginal build, but I don't think its overly helpful or useful. Anyone got some ideas/tried to do this?

I tried duo with a friend when spun first posted this. We split the build, one doing the communing half, the other channelling. This then gives you the ability to add a few more skills each (rez), use higher attributes and a couple more spirits. The run was pretty quick and easy.

I put this build together on my monk to beat the Glacial Griffon.
Because I didn't have the damage output with pretty much anything else I tried.
Griffon went down in 4 volleys from the spirits. :]
I'll probably never use the build again on my monk, but it was fun. :3

Tried this with a friend (Rit spirit spammer using exact SoS build, except for Vampirism), with me being a ranger trapper. Killed almost all stuff in hm. Smites were the most troublesome, so we avoided them in later runs. Mend condition and smite hex were nemesis for our builds. If anyone has any suggestions about accompanying ranger trapper, please post. Here`s what i use [Vampirism][Spike Trap][Tripwire][Flame Trap][Dust Trap][Edge Of Extinction][Storm Chaser][Flesh Of My Flesh] Wilderness Survival 16, Expertise 13 Sunspear rank 6.

We both have rez, couse you can expect anything down there, so i use Vampirism and don`t have to relocate att points, and SoS spammer has a free slot for a rez, just in case S**t happens. And it did happen, so i would recommend both players to have rez with themselves, if anything else, you`ll feel much more relaxed.

Aggro all the smites on you and ball them up with Whirling so they don't hit you (as often). Pull them back on top of your traps and in range of your spirits. Don't bother using Painful Bond on the Smites.

Spike Trap and Tripwire are redundant. Tripwire knocks down crippled foes, but Spike does cripple and knockdown.

You'll be able to lay more traps with Trapper's Speed.

I would suggest using Edge of Extinction as bait. Have your friend put the Binding Rituals in attack range of EoE. Trap on top of EoE, and then lure smites to EoE with Whirling. Smites will switch from you to the EoE spirit, and then they'll be hit by the spirits and your traps at the same time.

I use Spirit Siphon for energy management, and I run this on my Ritualist. Try that skill and you should be fine for energy, especially as Dervishes have caster energy regeneration.
