July Skill Balance predictions

Mine are a couple more rit and para buffs for pve, and perhaps a dervish rework or buff to be better at scythe than even those silly PARAGONS, some dart board nerfs, and useless buffs to useless skills.

There seems to be more expectations for large scale balance updates recently rather than the usual small reactive nerfage.
Also lol at the expectation that the next big update will target pvp. They haven't officially stated what (if anything) it will be yet, who knows it could just be removing heroes from ha/gvg (5 minute job).

A bug fix for Signet of Spirits.

I doubt there will be any changes made, as they are still having issues with Xunlai. However, if it were to happen, or at least when it happens in August (hoping), I would expect a few things based on what I have seen/heard.
1) MINOR nerf to Shadow Form, Glyph of Swiftness, and or Deadly Paradox. Perma will probably get hit, but not killed.
2) Mind Blast and/or Distortion, as I hear lots of people complain about it.
3) Signet of Spirits - this would be a bug fix though
4) Change on scythe targeting so you hit ONE target, plus 1 more target for every 5 ranks in Mysticism (yep, that would increase its power if using a Major/Superior rune)
5) Wells have been discussed for changes, I expect we will see a preview of the changes before they roll them all out

I am hoping and pretty much sure scythes wont be affected at alll. SoS agreed fix is a must. SF not sure.

Scythes themselves are good.
It's the fact Mysticism, Earth Prayers, and Wind Prayers suck and the lack of a reasonable IAS.
If even the PARAGON and RANGER uses the scythes better, it's a problem with primary dervish themselves.

I actually have faith that ANet will get it in on time. I predict SF going back to how it was when only eles could use it to solo farm greens, nerf to Mind Blast or Distortion, hopefully Mind Blast. And some buffs to some warrior skills, not PR type buffs or anything, just nice buffs, if ANet can manage that I will hug them.

I agree with this part.
No matter what anet does someone will complain. You can't please everyone all the time, so there's no point in trying really. Just a waste of effort to cater to everyone.
I appreciate the attempt. Even if I don't always like the way skills are changed. Just make the game more interesting for me.

Apart from Mind Blast, why would they nerf it?
They nerfed SH last balance now if they nerf MB they are pushing Fire eles out of pvp, and MB makes a different Meta, if we didnt have this all we would see is Me/N and Hexes....

Hmmmm, I agree that the update will be AT LEAST a week late, it won't do anything to SF, Mind Blast, Dervs/Scythes, or anything that would have any significant effect on the game. Anet's response to the QQ?

Painful bond will get nerfed or functionality changed. It's a bit over-powered right now. I'm pretty sure that rits have all the damage they need from just spirits (especially if they debug SoS). Hopefully they'll change it to something useful like damage to one-two adjacent foes (rather than to the target).

So i was thinking the other day...if they DO nerf Shadow Form, it wont really fix anything right? Like if they make it longer recharge, assassin speed clears or whatever are done untill people find another way to do it without SF. And it wont really fix the game economy because the prices of "elite" weapons such as ambraces, froggy scepters, BDS, and things like that will still be the same price and the only people that will be able to afford them will be the people that did SF farming and have stacks of ectos. Is this kinda true or am i missing something?

I'd like to see something done with Dervishes. When was the last time we got an update? Some sort of buff would be nice.

I have never run a Scythe on any class but my Dervish. However, I hear many people complain about the fact that Dervish uses the scythe less effectively than Warrior, Assassin, Ranger, and Paragon. I also didn't say it was something I WANTED, but I see that kind of a change fitting into the way Anet 'balances' things.

Ya'll complain about things that aren't a real problem sometimes (i.e.: Scythes).
I tend to think that it's rather brilliant that players are able to use secondary weapons/attributes more effectively than the primary profession to an extent. Same thing applies to swords, axes and hammers; the strength attribute need not always apply for a build to work effectively when used by other secondary professions.
Conclusion: It's called innovation. Anyone against this and/or for cutting them off are simply asking Anet to continue taking away from a nearly empty and desolate game. Is this what ya'll want for this game? If you ask me, I think people complain because they're too unskilled to deal with it appropriately.

the list below I'd like to get NERF for reasonable reason
1. Shadow form (pve)
reason: over farming and sc runs. even with the old update for the drops and party size looting system it is still over farmed by the sins. Most pve guilds that hold the most farming members are now controling the ecto prices.
2. Brutal weapon (pvp)
reason: It does way too much damange. And why is it down side with the strength and honor not the brutal weapon? think about it... brutal weapon cost down side with no enchant but strength and honor down side with -1 energy regeneration. Since Strength and honor only add not even over 5 damange in pvp I recommand arena put the damange cap for brutal weapon down as well to make it fair.
The list below I'd like to get UnNerf/buff for reasonable reason
1. Savannah Heat (pvp)
reason: complain was never a good thing but.... SH does really well combination to put with many meta teams. Now in meta is hard to run Sh without a glyph. It is another direct nerf to the rogort invocation so people cant use it to cast without spend alots energy. Now many Hero Asent people do not bring elementalist to their team. For those who are lowly ranked people never get a team together and can not play because of the discrimation.
2. Order of Undeath (pvp) (pve)
reason: MM is fun to play with but they are being less resourceful when there are no dead bodies. After the new functionality for the aura of the lich, other mm skills like order of undeath, jagged, and golems are becoming less and less effective.
The list below please DO NOT TOUCH
1. Removing heroes from HA/GVG
reason: If you ever go to HA on international district. It is compeletly dead after certain hour. It is sometimes extremely hard to find a team or even to pug a team. For those who are new to pvp they are extremely desperate to find a group to play with. If A-net remove heroes from the HA it would be difficult or almost impossible for those low ranked members to play. In addition for those who complained about the heroes are those who got beat by them. I mean seriously, if someone would ever complain about something is either they got beaten by them or got frustrated by them. If you can beat people using heroes than why are you still complaining that people using them?

what?
I agree brutal needs to be toned down a bit but... the downside is pretty big. It has no effect while your enchanted, and enchantments are used on quite a lot of builds. SoH could be used with other damage enchancing buffs, such as Conjures, with no downsides, which is why it was nerfed

I predict a rebalance of some spirits. Some buff for dervishes as everyone is whining about getting it. A sudden shift in Dervish line that makes scythes 100% useless for any other profession. A nerf of some kind to assassins or elementalists. And maybe some random buffs/ nerfs to skills that nobody uses and will remain unused.
I hope for imba buff to tactics though. Something in the line of shouts lasting 100% longer for every point to make imbagons and godmode warriors parties epic for a few days. But tactics buff is highly needed.

I can comfortably play a SH bar with Rodgorts and Met Shower with only attune for energy, and hell, we even ran a bar without attune, but with GoLE. Clearly you're the problem, not the bar.

Shadow Form: reduced recharge time to 30 seconds. Functionality changed to: "For 4...9 seconds, all hostile spells that target you fail and all attacks against you miss, but you deal 33% less damage. When Shadow Form ends, lose all but 5...41 Health. Shadow Form refreshes every time you land a critical hit. This skill is disabled for 30 seconds."

OuD *pve* : its the best MM elite you can run on a PLAYER in pve.

Heroes from GVG/HA : remove them! and give some better skilled henchies to fill gaps if needed! NOT as first choice replacements for real players!
Oh and Discord : increase the cast time and recharge. that will wind up a large % of people for more QQ
