by all means nerf it, but theres no point in smiters booning it when theres allready tons of elites out there that dont get used. I quite like my guildys suggestion: "For 2...6..7 seconds all spells targeting you fail and all attacks against you miss. Renewal: everytime you land a critical hit. End effect, you lose all but 10...60..80 health"
There, perma-based SCs killed but still a good usable elite for a balanced team. you'd need to invest plenty into crit strikes and dagg mastery in order to maintain it.

There is NOTHING wrong, I repeat, NOTHING, with Shadow Form. There is, however, something wrong with PERMA. All they need to do is make it impossible to keep SF up 100% of the time. With a major health drop when it ends, having it end with a 10 second or so down time will mean major changes have to be made to farm with it, and many of the running builds will be obsolete. I actually liked farming with Shadow Form when it couldn't last all the time, and you used Shadow of Haste to shadowstep to saftey before it ended.
Changing it to a skill will make it unremovable (Signet of Disenchant, Well of the Profane, etc.), but would also make it not last longer with +20% enchantments weapon mods and Glyph of Swiftness. I don't care HOW they do it, but I'd love to see them make it work the same (maybe remove the damage reduction) but ensure it can't be maintained permanently.

personally i can care less if they nerf shadowform. i dont use it when i play my sin and i still have plenty to do in the game before GW2 hits so i dont have time to farm. i make plenty of gold for my needs just playing the game. just like every farm build in the past, kill off this one and something else will come along. has it affected the game? sure is has, its made FoW armor cheeper to get for those wanting it. but seriously there is more important things in the game that should be addressed then killing off another farm build. titles cost money and for some, UWSC is their way to fund their title chasing.

My money is on a monk skill getting so obscenely overbuffed to be able to take SF's place.
Although this also gives us the perfect opportunity to solve the mesmer problem! Symbols Of Inspiration could use some invincibility added to the skill description!

Yes people saying "GW will die because of X" all these years are exagerrating, but their claims are not far from the truth. What they should be saying is "GW will die over time because of things such as X Y and Z".
Over the years Anet has continually done things to the game that have contributed to players leaving, only to fix these issues far too late when the players have already left. The problem here, and this is key, is that most of the people still left playing the game are people who either no longer care about X or they use X. Most of the people who really cared probably left. So in reality, while the addition of problems is a bad thing, the fact that Anet takes SOOO long to realize and fix the problems is perhaps their biggest flaw of all.
Fixing a farming build in a game that has become mostly about farming is pretty much pointless nowadays. Yes I think it should be deleted from the game, but it is still nearly pointless. They should have never even conceived the idea...and if they did they should have fixed the shit on contact.
Instead, the addition of X Y and Z changed what the game was about, and because it takes so long to fix X Y and Z, nobody really cares anymore because whoever is left playing the game probably likes the shit it has become anyways.

Change recharge time to disabled duration instead. Neither the /E nor the /Me version would be able to be maintained indefinitely, and the change is minute and does not affect the intended use of the skill.
Also, Terra Tanks will return, and the run will be slower, but still possible. Also, people will work towards innovative methods for a little while to try and increase speed before settling on a set PUG version. Try using a 55/600 Monk for Mountains, it's quicker with Pain Inverter than the current meta =P

For areas like DoA, it's already been done with an obby flesh tank, and extremely quickly too! Iirc, frenchies got a 55 minute run with an obby flesh sliver tank! Shit like fow probably wont be affected, although the terra roles require a lot of running, so they might be *slightly* slower. The only places that will really be affected will be Urgoz(because of recall pulls, and even then a good team can finish in <26), VSF(which shouldnt exist anyways), and dungeon running(which is lolbroken anyways).
Now, if SF is nerfed to the point of it being unmaintainable(even when using arcane echo), then uw will be affected until someone can come up with a way to do Unwanted Guests solo. I really cbf to look at the skills and work it out, but i would imagine that it wouldnt be very difficult to devise a way to do it

At this point even Wasterl's Collapse is more useful than SF in normal play and that should tell AN something.

As for the skill/area debate: It really is the skill. It's most prominent in speedclears, but it really is an easymode in pretty much all of the game. And it's easier to just kill the build than to rework half of the game's zones to incorporate permasin counters.
