Because Guild Wars is AWESOME!
Even though it hjas some issues like Shadow Form wich does not favors teamwork/teamplay/everything that guild wars stands for wich is playing with other people/roles, it still rocks.
To me we can see what the game was supposed to be at the Zaishen Quests (specially bounty/mission) wich propitiates union among players seeking a common objective. At these missions/bounties i have seen many different builds that arent necessarliy "OP" but are still good and useful at those situations, wich is what Guild Wars all about... this VARIETY!
But yea... PVE became something very different indeed, but the concept still remains, even if a little, but this little makes Guild Wars much better than many games out there, even the Xbox/Ps3 ones.
The fact that there is no (other) decent MMO on the market right now. Plan on playing mortal online at release - if not it's a long wait for earthrise/GW2/D3. And as others said, I also took a year out and find it's nice to play again. When you play PvP zerging shit in WAR or LOTRO you come to appreciate how good GW actually is.
I would be playing CoD but my xbox live sub has expired
Funny thing. A few months ago I would have said HoM, but I completed my primary char (title wise) in the past few months, and surprisingly enough, instead of getting boring, GW is actually free from the pressure and much more fun now.
Mostly I've split my time between completing all the campaigns with my remaining characters, competitive missions, and stuff /w the guild.
I haven't played in a few weeks, actually. I'm busy with other things.
But, I keep playing because I love the GW's world, all of it, the music, the lore, its stories, the quests, the missions (most of them, except the tormented missions in NF.. I really dislike those). I've only been playing for less than two years, so there's still some things I haven't done. I want to finish getting my moa bird, max the cartographer title on the first character I ever made. It'd be nice to get a Silverwing bow, although that'll never happen it's nice to think about it. I still have a lot of places to vanquish. I haven't learned to be as good at PvP as I'd like. I've never been to Heros Ascent. Still haven't got the end chest after all the quests in FoW although I've been close.
So much still to do.
That all being said, I preordered Aion and it's sitting at the game shop for me, but I haven't picked it up yet. I kinda wish I didn't get it and I don't see how it could be better than GW.
the reason I'm still playing is I just enjoy the game, I played all games throughout on every single one of my characters. GW being my first MMORPG is probably the biggest reason, it also will be my last. I decided MMORPG's can get really addictive and it comsumed alot of my free time so no more for me after/if GW dies.
First of all i play GW to fill the time. I got many friends that i chat also, and i do some titles, farming and PvP for fun Simple reason, i enjoy the game.
