According to Gaile, and later Regina, HB/TA will be removed this week.

Likewise for any concerns about a game mechanic that you believe may be abused now or in the future. Your thoughts in advance of the finalization of design could be very helpful. HB and TA are being removed...I wonder if that means Sealed Deck is being brought in with this update as well?

I do think it's funny that they claimed it to be match manipulation and then don't even care that people were doing it. Not really surprised or upset or anything, just funny.

Gaile addressed it on her page because she was responding to support concerns about it. We had a meeting last week to discuss whether we could confirm this with the community early in the week, and Linsey agreed that it would be okay.

SD will arrive once it's ready.

I still wish they'd just leave the arenas in. I don't like taking away options. I enjoyed HB when I was bored, didn't require a team and was just all about me knowing what to do. I don't understand why they couldn't just leave the arenas in and continue to neglect it as they have done for it's entire duration. Better than totally removing it I think.

One thing I'm worried about is whether or not they will put it on the log-in page. Very few people in-game seem to know about this at all.

You can't just expect the wiki'ers and forum users to tell everyone else.

Couldn't they leave HB in and implement dishonor for resigning/leaving twice within one hour like in AB or RA.

Was surprised to discover this wasn't already the case

Then increase Combat Bounty required number of wins to 3 and RR day will never come back.

Yes. And this week is AFTER the last monthly. They said "after the monthly it will be removed," not "right after the monthly, it will be removed."

I'm sorry, but I'm disapointed in you Regina. I don't know how things are behind the scenes at Anet and it may not even be your fault at all, but this should have come straight from you from the moment you had the green light. Gaile/support singlehandedly gave out more info about this hot iron than the complete CR team that was most likely lurking around. Seems like the CR team wets their pants when to face this community and rather say nothing at all to play safe and this is not the first time. My apoligies if I'm wrong but I needed to get this off my chest.

I would guess that we'll see all kinds of problems from this.

One of them, if they don't put it up on the log-in screen, will be thousands of players going, "Hey! WTF happened to TA and HB?!"

HB/RR day has been a bigger CR failure than the XTH, Speed Clears, and Shadow Form combined. And that's saying A LOT.

Here are two valid reasons for removing HB:
1) It's a gigantic shithole (as are many other things in Guild Wars, but one less of them is good in my book)
2) Very few people actually care about it as a competitive format

These apply to TA as well, just delete 'gigantic'.
