PvP Henchmen

PvP Henchmen have been added to guild halls and Heroes' Ascent.

Heroes will no longer be available in guild halls or Heroes' Ascent.

Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug that caused Devona to have "Charge!" instead of Enraged Smash in Raisu Palace and Imperial Sanctum.

Fixed a bug that allowed Healing Ribbon to target spirits.

Miscellaneous

NPCs in Fort Aspenwood, Jade Quarry, and Alliance Battles now use the appropriate PvP versions of their skills.

Holy Crap. Heroes are gone. I was using them just a few hours ago. Goodbye taint heroes, the only ones I ever bothered with!



Edit: I truly am jealous of the winners now. Not only do I love the look of some of the new henchmen (Reaping Henchmen woamg *drool*) but it really makes you realize that these people are stapled into Guild Wars history

My Review:

Good call on the heroes. They were OP in PvP. However, I do not like the no-hero thing in Guild Hall. This is a terrible thing. One thing, my GH offers all the services I need if I am customizing Heroes. Now if I want to edit heroes, I gotta zone out of GH or go to a huge city. I think the next update should allow you to edit heroes in GH, but as soon as you zone to HA, the heroes will be automatically removed. In a way the henchman thing in Guilds, is okay. It does crowd the location. For those who FA, I guess the FA update was a good thing.

Yeah, a few of the henchmen look pretty cool. Mainly the hench I saw in HA with a tormented scythe.
I wonder if the winners have gotten their tonics yet.

Do the devs realize the GH is a base for PvE players too? More PvE groups form in the GH than PvP groups, purely from volume.

Hopefully that'll be fixed. What should have happened is instead of auto kicking heroes out of the Guild Hall, they should have done the same thing they did with MOX when it came to hero battles. Good update either way.

They'll look whether it is technically possible, but to their knowledge, this is unfortunately a hard-coded limitation. So, they'll see if it's possible, but no promises, since they need to look at the code.

If they can make it so you can't enter mission WITHOUT certain heros, why can't they make it you you can't enter GvG WITH heros? O.o (since people seem to be taking this wrong....not flame just a curiosity)

However still not a horrible update...at first I thought there was something up with the fire ele henchies attributes...but it might be that the guild I skrimmed didn't have max armor which seems more likely...he forgets things sometimes...

I understand henchman for rated PvP, but what is with all the hate against heroes in other aspects of the game.
Can't even have fun hero scrims with my guildies anymore making up weird team builds and just fooling around.
Thank you Regina, for the quick response with the issue of heroes 100% disabled in the guild hall.
It's the little things that make this game great and this issue makes traveling to the guild hall an annoyance while doing PvE.

This is totally unexpected. I'm quite frustrated, as many others have expressed, with not being able to take heroes into GH.

As far as I can see, in relation to not being able to add heroes in the Guildhall, there is theoretically, a simple solution:

You Make it Possible to add heroes in the Guildhall. But you enforce a system a little like the "At least Half of your party must be members of your Guild." when you try to enter a GvG

So if you tried to enter a guild battle with Heroes a message would come up with something like "You may not take heroes into Guild Battles/PvP"

Obviously I know nothing about coding in guild wars or indeed anything to do with coding at all! But surely a solution such as that would work?

Following your logic, in their next update why dont they screw over PvE'ers even more by removing Guild Halls for Non PvP Guilds? I mean its not like they can be used for anything PvE based anymore.

Thank you for replying back fast, Regina. I hope the Tech's can code GW to allow Heroes in GH. How about making it where if you hit the GvG button, it will say "No heroes allowed." That would be one awesome update. If the Tech's do not pull it off, no sweat I will still play GW and be happy.

No heroes in Guild Hall = major inconvenience. I visit the GH between most missions and quests to sell dyes, runes, materials, scrolls, merchant fodder, etc. and equip and swap around heroes for the next outing.

Please, please, please fix.
