What do you miss most from the earlier years of Guild Wars?

I really miss Yak's Bend's arena. I used to play that with my invincible wammo build 4yrs ago.. TA QQ..
germanturkey
i sort of miss HFFF. it was an easy way to pass time and make money.
Ayuhmii Shanbwa
the times that people actually enjoyed helping others (not just guildies, allies and friends)
the times that builds didnt really matter(same with heroes), but we made the best of it
the times i got help to get through the game
the times where people wanted to join others, even though they didnt need that quest, mission or other activity (again, not just friends, allies and guildies)
the times where we didnt need a title rank to join teams (not just pvp)
guess thats enough for now, and half the reasons i dont join GW2
there are people left who have these points, but they are rare nowadays

joemoe
the time when it wasn't a mostly a single player game, and there was more then 5 people, half of which are AFK in any given mission outpost
Raven Wing
I just decided I wanted cartographer on my new rit (new compared to my gwamm necro), as part of that i did surmia mission. But it brought up memories of a time when you were 4 lvl10-12 newbs who actually had to struggle to complete it. Standing on that plateau defendign rurik against the attacking charr while he cast ritual to open the door leading to the magic gate to the academy and being nervous we couldnt manage it. Now I stood there waiting for rurik to finish and no charr came rushing, i had cleared the place when mapping...
Or when you could actually stand in yaks bend and sell a half decent purple item for 1 plat and that made you feel rich. Everybody were passing by yaks, also because of the quests there, and there were actually pugs for these quests. And lots of people didnt have any good weapon , they would be happy if they could get a max wep with any kind of bonus for 1k.

Missed the time when the object of the game was to have fun.
Coast
*better attitudes in general(willingness to improve, respect) /
*championships instead of mats/
*more depth in actions of players during matches/
*frequent updates without manipulation of players like what is going on with the tk now/
*vod (although this wasn't perfect neither)/
Thats about all I can think of atm.

I have been reading through all this and wow. i started playing this game in january 2007 the game was so confusing. All these Skills, my first character was Warrior as most are, i remember finding the skill FireStorm and thinkin THIS IS IT! RUINS OF SURMIA IM GOING TO BURN U TO THE GROUND. The game has changed in so many ways, everyone misses a certain aspect of the past. who cares if GW is "dead" i still have fun getting to 30 maxed titles, GW is the best game i ever played honestly and i would not change it.

this is easy for me..... by far forming a group(you know before the heroes came around) that was half the fun playing through the game with real people

What I miss is the sense of adventure when playing a campaign for the first time and seeing all the sights. I like how the game progresses and at the end you have to fight the evil boss. You really have a sense of fullfillment when completing a campaign, unlike so many other mmorpg's where there is absolutely no closure.
But I have done it all to many times now and with all things it slowly loses its shine.
What I dont miss are the countless nostalgia threads that I have seen popping up over the last 2 years lol
Can we make this the final one?
Chocobo1
I miss being able to check my email without seeing 3 emails claiming Anet requires me to re enter my login details to them.
Rocky Raccoon
I miss the freshness of a new game, the constant updating and the "new build available".
tonini
the experience of playing the game with ppl i knew n the new experience of playin the game for the first time

i just miss those days when all the places were filled with players and finding a party was cake...I checked my Guild player list and many have not logged in for 3 years... I, myself, have not logged in for 2 years. Just recently logged back in again..
very sad and disappointed, but nothing lasts forever..

this game would be totally awesome, if it had random dungeon/map generator with different enemies in different locations everytime like Diablo.
Tunn Tavern
I miss the newness, the wow factor. I remember the first time I unknowingly triggered the pre to post searing element, and how shocked I was at the difference.
broncomania
missing the times when my healer was getting paid =) j/k
Really missing the times when i had to use my brain AND someone else's (not hero's) to finish most of mish's. Was hard but kinda liked when i had chance to socialize =)

The original Prophecies, when even pre-sear kept your eyes open.
I don't miss PUGs, though. They were just madness. I think at some point in the desert I decided to learn to solo with the hench, and do exotic things like farm and do runs.
Heroes were necessary because PUGs were a failure.

I started to play Guild Wars in 2008, so nothing changed for me lol :P I like the game it is now
Not Listing it Here
The slow totem comment made me laugh. The game was a lot more fun before titles and cons.
The Scorpion Knight
The times when everyone was new, and no one knew what they were doing. Everyone worked together to get through missions and quests and were friendly.
Now a days when you ask someone if they want to do a mission or quest they think somethings wrong with you.

Oni-Claire

and when you finally finished that mission with human player everybody are spamming around " great" "we did it".

The greatest hit for me was the nerf of chestrun and the disappearance of Ascalon id1. GW has never been the same since then.
Also, the lack of people. Many friends quitt the game, and thats the main reason that made me stop playing.
I could write tons of other stuff, enjoyable farms (yes, those times when ectos were actually dropping in UW, I was doing UW farm even though I had enough money from trading), real battles in HA and HoH, PuGing (not quite sure about this one tho )

The time when everyone was a noob.
The time when you didn't have to flash your e-peen to get into a HA party.
The time that there were no titles.
The time when trapping was fun.
The time when a warrior was the tank.
The time when a monk was a healer.
The time when a monk wasn't a damage dealer.
The time... when stuff wasn't this boring.
