I'm back all! After a wonderful week in Russia, I now roam in these forums again Couldn't wait to put the tablet down again.

Did some scrables in the flight back, will upload those tomorrow, nothing big though, just some doodles based on some photo's in one of those magazines from the airplane.

@Charlie. Hadn't really figured how I wanted the polearm to be held, need to put some more attention to it. Was just a very rought scetch
@Thistle. What Frost says Whats better then some great sparring?
@Raven. I already have taken a few screenshots from the movie, but they aren't very sharp, so I must need to figure a better way to get some screenies. You'll get them soon enough

Oh I missed the part where you said you were going to Russia. :P

Brought back any guns? ;3

But with the arm placement of the Scythe, pick up a broom, and try to figure out yourself how you would hold it like that to swing it much easier. Her left hand should go over and the right hand should go from under it.

Very nice and classic look. Kind of reminded me a bit of some Charlie's study sketches.

Quick doodling in some colors to give myself a general idea of the setting. Now I'm gonna see how those hands should be and paint over this

I like the clashing orange and blue colors, very nice. Automatically creates a lot of contrast and brings your eyes right where you want them. And I like Farai's armor you're designing there, kind of Balthazar-ish.

(even though she's a Lyssa Dervish )

A bit more progress.

I'm most likely going to do a painting of a Mesmer soon, have an idea in mind I want to live out. So feel free to post yours. Also, the mesmer is going to be interacting with a foe, probably a warden, but if you have a foe of preference, feel free to name it, and it might change my mind Oh and Mesmers with not too much big draper dress have some advantage And no hurry, first I want to finish some other things, so plenty of time to collect screenies!

Mesmers? I have a few

(though Sophia is my perma-Pre so I don't think she'd ever face off against a Warden...)

Changed the armor a bit of Verene, wanted some more skin to show, specially at the arms. Still subject of change though. Quickly tried to scetch something down.

I feel like doing some traditional scetches so first 3 posters get a quick traditional scetch of their character (wether its guildwars or not)!

that was fast - I love sketchy sketches :}

the motion in Alacrity's pose is terrific~!
impressive anatomy details even in such a quick piece, yay
esp the athletic shape of her arms + legs, that's something even top artists forget/omit

and such a sweet casual take on Mina :}

Lol I had no idea where to go with Kimi's armor or what so ever, so I went for a strange Magikninjafrommetalgearsolidsamurai hybrid.

That was it for the quick scetches, probably will do some faces/expressions of Ala later today/this week. Enjoy your day!

Spend the weekend on fixing my laptop (was using ubuntu and wanted to change to Tiny7, but that made my whole computer crash ). Reason was that I wanted to try out Corel Painter 11. And man I love it, so now I want it on my Mac! Sadly, can't find one. Anyone here found a working *cough* free version by any coincedence?

EDIT: Whiiee, got it. But on Mac it runs A LOT slower then Ps CS5, so that sucks Still lovely brushes though

Finally got to trying Corel Painter out a bit, quite a fun program, gonna use it more often, in combination with CS5 (still easier to use). Just wish they had Painters brushes in Photoshop

Anyway, here is a small wippie on coloring my previous scetch, trying out Painter. More will follow.

The way she's standing looks very uncomfortable, especially the head. The muscles looks pretty well done though.

Admitted the head was a bit out of its place The rest doesn't look that uncomfortable. And I think 90% of moving/action poses look uncomfortable I like it.

Finito! Finally something again, got so much to finish, really been in a start but not finish era lately.

Anyway here is Ala. Hope I captured her right a bit, at least the hair is closer then my previous one I think

am very flattered (again) Tommy, thank you~!

I love how you've enhanced the sense of motion, particularly her legs and the backdrop around them.

Yes, her head looks more balanced now, and her hair too (wouldn't quite be that much motion in a quick turn, as in your initial sketch, unless it was a really windy day)

your first foray with Corel is a success :}

Mina has filled the mesmer spot First little scetchy to give myself a bit of an idea of the scene.

Not sure yet what to have her wear, some obsi inspired armor, or something more towards the OC version. If I pick the last, how close would you want me to stick to it Mina? (asuming you'll read this ) Any preferences?

The other dude is going to be a Warden btw. Hypnotised and all.

For me, it is. At least till now. The brushes are really cool, haven't even had time to try them all out, leave alone the features the program might have. Still need to learn a lot about the program.

But for this one back to PS. Still in the I'm not finishing anything mood, started something new again I should never had scetched it down, now I must work on it..

Lesson of today: making monsters = fun.

whoaaa epic. You improve with every new pic.

Did you use grunge textures on the background or is that brushes only? (I've never used painter, no idea what its like.)
