I'm in the US, on the east coast, and I usually see updates go live at night. Like after 6 PM EST, but don't hold me to that. I'm not expecting this to go live for a good while yet.

Updates happen when they are done. The time of day varies. Afternoon local time, ~3 PM + or - 2 hours, seems to be common. I'm in the same time zone as ANet. Farmageddon approaches.

I find it really difficult to see that their value would rise... not to mention the excess consumables people are already going to have post-update = surge in supply + low demand...

Farmaggeddon's supposed to start today, amirite? *Looks at the sky and sees a giant nerf meteor labelled "February Update" Yep! It's on the move. Farming will no longer exist soon, and all the affected farming outposts will become as desolate as ever; almost as if an actual meteor hit them. I hope that Anet actually decides to re-design all famous farming outposts to look like they've actually been struck by a meteor because once this update lands I have a feeling it'll wipe out the populous. The only ones left will be the haters, and their H/H who will need to be ready to go on the hunt with them... because nobody else will. Finally, those henchmen will get some love and attention again. I hope ya'll have guilds with.. y' know.. "active" members because otherwise you'll need to be looking for the ones standing in ranks throughout the town/outpost in green text.

The lack of ANet's view on invulnerability in general was mildly annoying in this announcement. ANet introduced permanent easy invulnerability(Yes, I know it's not complete invulnerability.) in the first place, left it in the game for months (more than a year), but have chosen(maybe? They didn't say...) to change that. Calling this a preliminary skill update without defining what mechanics they find acceptable in that respect sort of removes the preliminary part. I would have liked to see their general views on the subject, but I suppose they will address that after the fact for whatever reason.
