Could be new craftable weapons like Tormented and Destroyer weapons that we can use to put in our Hall of Monuments. That might be what we use the Medals for.

Or maybe a Quartermaster that will takes so many of those for the weapons.

Considering Anet's lack of originality one can guess the MoH's are for either new weapons or armor. Whatever it turns out to be I doubt many people will be surprised.

PS - Would love to be proven wrong.

I'm all for new armour. But I don't think it will be that, just after the costumes....if it's new weapon I'm not getting them, if it's the rest let's see what. Or maybe they're going to work like zcoins? Very improbable but a nice option.

That wouldn't make a lot of sense. I've already gotten 4 medals from gifts. That would make any more than 1 pointless since you can't trade them.

I thought anet was against farming??? Have to farm nicholas in pre and post searing and now this too. I am confused farming continues to be nerfed only to be replaced with "anet approved" farming.

Just bumping this to say that while I enjoy doing the bounties and participating in the WIK stuff, having so much of the loot table for gifts consist of junk items I can buy off a merchant for 500 gold or less sucks the fun out of it. I'm talking scrolls, ID kits, and expert salvage kits.

The grails, essences, armor of salvation, powerstone, those are okay (those are at least somewhat valuable and useful), but everything else should be exclusive to this gift type, like most of the items in gift of the traveller are exclusive to it.

I don't mind opening a gift and getting brandy or lokum, because it's at least unique to this gift.

started out hoping for a mini. out of the 40+ ive opened my best has been 3 of those silver medals that have no use so far and a summon. so it took 600 supplies to get 75 supplies worth...
i had especially amazing luck on last 5 gifts i opened.. scroll of adventurers, expert salvage, expert salvage, krytan lokum, expert salvage. worst 5 in history of gifts i bet.

Ironically prices can justifiably rise now since the Falken nerf. You can never tell though, I don't blame you for selling I did as well.

I kinda wonder if anyone still does Falken, with rewards cut by 3/4 (unless you do HM which is cut by 1/2, but hard mode with all those chain resses just seems like it'd take too long to be worth it. It was worth it before because it was fast.)

I think the MPBs are a myth after all of wintersday/wintersday2 this year doing nothing but trying to get one

But I did get a gwen doll from the 4th or 5th nic gift I opened after coming back to GWs so it could have been sick luck for him.

I'm a skeptic too though.

People are trying to trade 1 royal gifts for an ecto, but even at 5k it's probably better to sell em and just buy whatever you want from the proceeds.
Salma is cheap comparted to Nicolas. And the worst one's are unstackable. Not like you usually have 8 expert salvage kits sitting around or 5 perfect kits etc.

I've gotten 7 Medals of Honor so far, so it's been a good return for me out of the 27 presents I've opened. I've also received nearly two full consets, and some of those nifty Shining Blade War Horns. Granted, I also got some crappy scrolls, but overall, I've been pretty happy with the results... okay... I didn't get a Confessor Issiah, but oh well... I've never been lucky.

iv got consets, blue scrolls, Lockpicks, Medals of Honor from opening 60 gifts. Lockpicks did come in handy for chest opening awhile doing missions in Proph.

Confessor Isaiah is a random drop from White Mantle Fanatics. Wouldn't make much sense to get him from a Royal Gift, does it?

Either way, I am a very unlucky person in Guild Wars when it comes to drops. I think I've only had 2 items that have ever dropped for me that I have sold for more than 100k.

I've never gotten a drop that sold for more than 50k, much less 100k.. I suppose the emerald blade I got to drop for me would fetch a good sum but I can't bring myself to part with it for the moment.

I've opened 50~ gifts so far, and have got nothing worth mentioning. Hoping that whatever the medals of honor will be used for will make up for the disappointing drops so far

In my opinion , they should change the kind of items you get in royal gifts ( or change the percentages ) , since it's now quite hard to get with all the 3+1 rewards bounties , and the very low drop level of confessor orders . It'snot being really fun when after few days , you finally got 2 gifts and you get identification kit , or 1 krytan loukoum ( upon about 60 gifts , i had over 20 id kits , about 20 scrolls aswell ( blue or gold ) and rest is most likely 1 cognac or loukoum , best drop being 2 lockpicks )

The reward from courier was too high , but now , rewards for everything are too low imo . I know it's all about luck , but i still think that the kind of drops should change ( remove ID/salvage kits in my opinion , and making 5 cognacs/loukoums instead of 1-2 would be nice for example )

agree... i would like to know who is the guy who "decide" the drop rate of stuff... clearly he never played the game to look how much can be frustrating and boring kill stuff for hours and get NO REWARD.
