I bumped into Tradermojo in game. He was kind enough to let me take a screenshot of his prenerf r7 max focus.

EDIT - One of the golems in the MOX quest leg that happens in ToA (NM) just dropped this. I doubt it's anywhere near max, but it's the best we have so far.

Sorry if I missed something;
The hammer dropped in UW a few days ago, and the staff dropped on Friday while I was glacial farming. Im fairly certain the hammer beats what you already have on the master list, and the staff...I dunno if the staff is useful XD. The sword I am including because I didnt see a confirmed pic on the master list of an r8 inscribable. Note that I do have screens of both the staff and hammer still on the ground and assigned to me

Thanks for the upload! I have a couple questions still, before I list this ...

1) Are you SURE that crenellated was inscribable? As I understand it, the only sources of insc. Crenellated Swords are things like zChest, FoW chest, etc. Those don't drop non-max blues. I could be mistaken about where they drop, though.

2) That shortbow - do you remember if it dropped in Proph/Factions or NF/EotN? On whites with core skins, I can't tell the source from the item name (like I can from the Cockatrice Staffs, for example.)

I guess I should've posted a pic. I'm just so lazy though! I wish I'd screenshotted the older req 8 11-21 Scrying Glass Staff I got from Vaettir since I *think* it was HSR 20%, but like you said End, sometimes people make mistakes. Here's an attachment with the 18/10/11-21 Inscribed though.

Nothing odd about it, whites/blues can drop as low as req.7 in Hard Mode no matter how high the level of monster dropping it is. And it's the huge piles of white trash drops that nobody picks up that we should all watch in order to find best possible req.7 and req.8 stats.

End, I assumed those two you posted above came from a recent Vaettir run - let us know if not.

As for low req drops in HM, I know I've seen a max (16 ar) white r8 shield drop in HM. I was out after some WiK bounty once, and had one drop from that Warrior WiK boss (Carnak the Angry or something) in the Black Curtain on my way to Kessex Peak. I wouldn't have been out on a bounty in NM to begin with, but I remember it because I'd thought there were no max r8 drops in HM anymore, too.

ANet should change /help from linking to the wiki ... it should simply link us to whispering Yawgmoth instead.

got req 8 gold 19-35 15>50 war hammer from trolls(lol) about 3 weeks ago - so these certainly still drop
cant speak for caster weps besides focii which clearly drop r8 12e regularly
i assumed all martial weps still dropped as max r8s (in tyria/cantha)
did they make some update i missed?

Since Nightfall release only req8 drops possible (inherent and inscrp!) should be offhands, swords and shields. Any recent (2007 or later) req8 Hammer, Axe or Bow drop would be quite surprising tbh.

Yes there hasnt been single proof about em dropping since, but one reliable screenshot would change it all.. Im sure if it was possible more ppl would try get em and there would be some popping up

I agree, a screenshot showing a max r8 hammer dropped post-NF release would be an awesome find!

Like most folks here, I was under the same impression - max r8 hammers no longer drop.

Please don't take offense, but until we get the screenshot proof I'm not planning on listing this as a claim in the OP. It's not personal at all! It's simply that I fear such a claim without supporting evidence would be far too controversial and/or far too misleading to people who don't read the fine print.

If it's any consolation, I'm rooting for you! Got my fingers crossed that you can show us proof ... I suspect Pleikki's right about the surge of interest that would create. Surges of interest are always interesting and usually fun, too!

Yeah, I think so, too. Your pic is r6 insc. 16/9/10-17, and we've found an r6 insc. 16/9/10-18 already. So I didn't list it. But staffs are tricky, with four values that might show new max. I'm fine with posting things one isn't sure about - better safe than sorry!

Placeholders are great, thanks! Given that most everything you show there appears to come from inscribable gear source areas, I assumed the white Ram's Hammer did, too. Please let us know if that one actually dropped somewhere in that produces inherent gear, not insc. (Proph or Factions.)

That r6 scythe is particularly nice, given that we already have an r6 scythe with a narrower damage range but min. damage of 10. It's good to get an example in there of a min. damage 9 one with a higher max.
