Ok, well the doubleaxe Sickle was a white or blue, not nearly as good as the purple one(s) posted earlier. I don't think I saved a SS.
It was a teammate who got the Tribal Axe. His was gold, but he picked it up faster than I could snap a picture. I don't want to mention his name without his permission (but I know he's been watching this thread, so maybe he'll post.) I think it wasn't max, but I can't remember for sure. I didn't get a picture of it, though. And no hard feelings! I don't take offense at "screenshot or it didn't happen." EDIT - Oh, but to my understanding, there were never any triple-mod axes ... that was limited to Shields, Wands and Foci only. I'm interested to see if they let us keep our inherent mod versions of things which are normally only ever inscribable now. |

I already custo'd the Q9 Hooked Scythe 14^enchanted. Waiting to see what happens, I dont wanna mod it up jusy to have it a normal scythe .
Thats really the only thing I felt worth keeping for me. I did 8-13 runs, and merched the other stuff. Besides whats the harm in letting un-insc weapons stay in the game? They let uncond, and double modded Inherent shields in the game (-2,-3 type of shields).

There are no recorded max gold inherent double bladed sickles or tribal axes, hence the intrest, not how rare it is over the games, just if a max one finally dropped of either that has an inherent mod, not an insc.

Thanks to the mighty animal fighter for posting the screenshot I forgot to take! Grats again on the drop!
So it was max damage with non-max inherent. Sorry for my bad memory. We were busy fighting bony animals at the time.

Congrats thats one awesome axe!

Wow, animal fighter, that's a nice axe. Shame about the one off max inherent, but it's still impressive.
To those in the know regarding skin rarity, what are the chances that that axe is one-of-a-kind - meaning the only gold uninsc Tribal?

Well I would say 50/50 chance. The thing is we know it came from this quest and alot of people were farming there. The fact that 85% of the people farming it were blinded by the thought that triple modded weapons were what they should be looking for so if they did have one of these or a tyrian sickle it may have been merched. Also there may be some that people are waiting on to see what happens. People have gotten way to uppity over all of this and its a shame. All the worries and concerns over items that dont mean jack didly to balance as they claim. The truth is that this brought life to the game for many. Alot of people were truly excited about Guild Wars again. It was like a Easter egg hunt knowing most of the eggs were going to be nasty hard boiled eggs but maybe just one of them would be a plastic egg with a prize in it. This game offers so much in many different ways. Collectors and Guild Wars Historians came out in force to share in this experience. Many of us were never fond of the inscription method to weapons and think its pretty neat to be able to own inherent versions of Nightfall & EotN skins. Do your inventory probes if you must, discover there is no threat and lets things be.
jimbo32
I've gotta agree with Cleavage. It was exciting looking for perfect 15^50 or +5en scythes and spears, and wondering what the mods would be on every gold that dropped in there. I think there's likely a lot of fairly unique items that came from this quest, and it'd be a crying shame if they were all switched to inscribable - or if ANet came up with some other equally silly "solution" to a make-believe problem.
More than that, I think it would've been worthwhile to leave the mausoleum available in-game, rather than removing it and it's associated quest - or at least some form of it. Not going to happen obviously, and it's too bad.

There will be NO rollback. I have been farming here for sometime and did NOT want to post screens of the stuff i have gotten yet till after the event. Party poopers you guys are for showing what you got
The items will stay in the game as is. ill bet you my account. |
Personally, it doesn't matter to me if the triple-modded stuff stays or goes. I never thought it would stay, but it wouldn't break my game if it did. I can understand the argument against overpowered items getting into PvP. As I don't play serious PvP, I don't care. Seeing anyone get in trouble over something like "exploiting a glitch" for farming the area or using the drops would piss me off.
I am in the camp of those excited about the inherent versions of stuff like spears, scythes, and various other inscription-only skins. I'm also keen on the idea of Para shields with 10vUndead and other inherent-system-only mods. I'm hoping ...
- The drops folks got like that get to stay even if they have to remove some third mods, and ...
- We'll see more things like this with limited chances to get stuff never before seen. For example, an inherent gold 15^50 scythe isn't any threat to the functionality of inscribable scythes. All it does is give those of us who like to collect odd things something new to play with and hunt for! I don't see the harm there.

I don't know how they can leave this stuff in game but even I wouldn't want to see the bitchfest that will happen over a 5 or so day rollback.
Maybe they have another way? I remember them changing that quest reward but that was just targeting one offending item, this is so random I don't see how they could fix them without a rollback. I Don't care so much about losing these laughtastic items as long as I get to keep my screenies. Pity I Never use Tactics but Koss should like this, ohhh wait, I never use him either. |

did anyone else get a tyrian serpent axe, sickle or tribal axe with decent mods?

Someone in game just offered to sell this to me for 100k+15e. I declined, but I took a picture to add to our growing list here.
EDIT - for the record, I DO NOT think 100k+15e is a valid PC for that! Please don't misunderstand. Personally, I'm not keen on trading any of the mauso-drops for more than a few plat until we have a better idea what ANet intends to do about them.

Here's something that Luny and animal fighter (and other other "vs creature" shield nuts) might like:
I also got a gold Tall Shield on the same run - req13, -2^stance, +27 (fortitude handle). Those obviously already drop uninsc, so I won't bother posting a pic.
@Luny - +15e for that focus makes me cringe

That would go so well with my 15stance spear - I could be a FrenzyImba in SoO!

Anyone know if this update affects triples at all?
LicensedLuny
I just loaded the update. I had no triples, but my shield and wand with a single inherent mod and a suffix mod are still there.
And my inherent staffs from jimbo, along with my inherent spear and scythes, are still there, too.
EDIT - Oops! Sorry for the confusion. I just noticed how my statement could be misinterpreted. What I mean is that I had no triple-mods in storage to begin with to check if they're different! All the stuff I had still looks the same.

awww yeah i checked notes also that it didnt say anything about em, but i sold all my triples otherday so wasnt able check that

atleast sold the triple mods weapons. easy profit for you cause people don't read and think of what they are buying before they buy it.
when did CaMC on my rit got 4 golds. 3 were crap but found r13 channeling Shamanic Wand: +5^50% Havles recharge 20% on Channeling. Was nice wand but got rid of it wasnt worth it.

Artaban
triple mods still there, at least on the items i dropped

Wierdness indeed! The day that quest was available i went in and did the mausoleum for the first time and scored a nice q9 tactics tall shield with max armor, +10 armor vs undead and +30 health. It was not inscribable yet the shield handle was removable which i took off to put on a shield for my ritualit. Later i decided to search my mules and discovered i had several shield handles, so i put thought i'd replace the shield handle on the tall shield. This was lastnight and i was unable to put the shield handle on it I was very disapointed at this and would have liked anet to not mess with things. Could have been fun scoring wierd yet cool items from the mausoleum since this game lacks in interesting item mods, they are all the same old boring crap. But whatever its iron ore now =P thanks anet
jimbo32
Nah, ANet didn't do anything to your shield, beaztor. All of the drops were like that right from the time the update was pushed which changed the drops to oldschool. The first night (or maybe two, can't recall) the quest was available, the drops were inscribable.
Any of the uninsc items that came out of there behave exactly like your tall shield - if you remove the grip/wrap/whatever, it isn't possible to put another one on.

I still have my triple modded wand, it hasn't been nerfed or changed in any way. Im wondering if they will be allowed to stay or not.

Hi, everyone. I have an update from the Live Team about those bugged items. Those bugged items will not remain in the game. They're currently in the testing process for this fix. You may want to salvage the mods on those weapons before this fix goes in. Thanks.

By bugged weapons: Are you saying that the inherent spears/scythes will be removed too? Or just triples. Because the inherent spears/scythes really dont affect anything in the game at all and are just fun items to have...
Yawgmoth
@Regina: This is terribly disappointing. The Mausleum drops were the single coolest and most exciting thing that has happened to GW item system since April 2005. It really seemed like really good design, not something unintended. Especially given that such an amazing variety of entirely new possibilities came with such a minimal impact on the game's balance - a huge majority, like 98%+ of the triple modded drops aren't any overpowered, they're mostly just worse or only extremelly situationally better than current optimal choices and even some of those which are better are only marginally better. Only some theoretically possible extreme rare triple-drops could have been really nerf-worthy but none have come close and almost all existing ones you want to nerf are completely innocent and incapable of providing even a marginal advantage.
The best part of it is that great variety of viable possibilities and no simple easy instant perfection - there were lots of possible decent, good, great and amazing drops without even being perfect! Hunting for and collecting items like those could provide something to do in the game for a long long time - exactly because there was no way to just build your dream perfect imba triple mod item - they weren't moddable.
This is all quite the opposite of what has been plaguing the game for ages -the "more of the same" problem. This is also what makes most of new content unrewarding - more of the same is rarely a worthwhile reward. It's also one of major reasons why many many people have quit the game.
This case should be a clue on how to design rewards for future content to make them interesting and increase longeivity of the game. Just put some safeguards to ensure no *strictly* better items that current standards can appear. They should be different instead of just better.

Agree completely with Yawgmoth. Although I haven't been a GW player for nearly as long as some folks around here (I'm post-EotN o: ), I still found that the items dropped from the Mausoleum added a lot of excitement to the game. At least for the gear nuts.
I'm very disappointed as well. It seems like overkill to remove all of them, even if some *were* overpowered or potentially provided an advantage (and I'm not sure at all that that's the case).

But other things that have been bugged for years are ok?
Some novelty/bugged items being here forever and others being removed isn't all that consistent and seems like an odd policy.
As Yawg said, these will hardly destroy GWs but do add some interest for collectors who have been ground into dust since the dumbass inscription system was added.
