So the new hero is...
A11Eur0
I think I'll start using him more as a replacement for my ranger heroes...with soldier's fury and a few shouts, add that on to volley and some interrupts and it's a win combo, and he doesn't look like a retard using the bow.
domaspiragas
I wonder if they're keep adding new heroes until there are 3 of each. Like let's say the Canthan GW:B provides a new Rit or Sin?
Boogz
any paraway team worth running? I think para players will be very happy with improved racway, otherwise keiran won't be useful for me :P
now, to all of us be happy, give us an extra mesmer and rit (you can kill zenmai and anton in the process, we won't miss them)

another paragon.. maybe 3 paragons will be useful when the paragon update comes in 2012

I was surprised it was Keiran after all, and will not read anymore content speculation. It's such a buzz-kill, especially when I think some of it is leaked.
AngelWJedi
didnt someone say that it wasnt going to be keiran or miku? o0

The Text from "The Wedding" Quest also says

So pretty much the reward for that excruciating wedding catering quest is 1k and Thakeray?
Not really worth it.
I was hoping to at least get two more medals for an even 10 in the quest line.

Don't really like the new hero. And not fond of him changing to a paragon either. I went through tons of battles and participated in every major event in GW. So because I'm not a paragon, I can't be a leader? Why can't a ranger be a leader?
And as an aside, I was hoping for a quetzal, tengu or avicara hero. oh well...

Well, there was a team build that involved Paras spamming party wide burn inflicts. Only reason it didn't work at the time was just one, or two paras instead of three. I wonder how that will fair now that we have a third.

You don't need to be a paragon to be a leader, but being a paragon makes you one. That's how it is.

Gewn and Keiran telling her mom the good news:
Zodiac Meteor
He went from 20 expertise to 6 leadership... why?!!!
I love that the mom says, "you never visit enough."
I'm not sure if she is saying go die please or go die fast please.

I fear that in Guild Wars 2 Gwen and Thackeray are going to be considered (lore-wise) greater heroes than those depicted at the Hall of Monuments.
FoxBat
That's a given and has nothing to do with how GW1 story has played out. The HoM hero is different for everyone and undefined; gwen/thackery are fixed characters you can actually tell stories about.
Lanier
well... I for one am extremely happy with another para hero. I already ran my own version of racway anyway (Lanierway ) and having another paragon will be awesome. While I may not run 3 para teams right now, it'll be nice having another paragon with different runes/a build to switch out with the other para heroes depending on the area ill be in... plus, when 8 hero teams come out, ill be running around with all 3 paragons all the time.
Im not really surprised at the negative feedback... since the new hero isn't a rit or a necro and I figured that people would bitch and whine if it weren't one of these two profs.

The fact that the HoM isn't fixed doesn't actually imply that stories can't be told about each different hero. If you click the monument of honor in the HoM the story of your hero will be displayed, and that can have future involvement in GW2 (at least in the personal story), if it doesn't then the Hall is nothing more than a bunch of items and a title for your characters in GW2.
Then again I'm curious on how is it that Anet is going to fit the GW 1 HoM story with the GW2 story (and I personally trust Anet in those terms, but I really dislike the fact that we actually join Thackeray's party and not the other way around).

A new para hero? What is this, I don't even......
Oh well I never really liked Hayda anyway.
On a serious note, I feel the 3rd paragon hero will be more useful when 7 hero parties are released.

As far as GW2 is concerned the GW1 hero is an unknown. It's different for every player and those differences are unlikely to be significantly imported into GW2. That leaves defined NPCs with a much larger share of the story.

The couple of people that think paragons are actually decent may add them after the update, but I won't. There will have to be a major paragon update before I will even think of adding one.
NerfHerder
So now we only need a Rt, Mesmer, and Sin to have 3 of each hero. I just hope they are added in that order.
OT, like others have said, a third Paragon doesnt help much. But, it is nice to have Thackery as a hero. Four Rangers would have been overkill. It also adds, imo, more lore and character developement to Kieran Thackery. I cant wait to see the fire this puts under the Logan Thackery = BML theory in GW2Guru. And after the Paragon skill update(I dont even want to guess when) 3 Paragons may be useful in a full hero party(but most likely only if your an Imbagon).

And that is my point, whatever species you choose in GW2 there is a way you inherit whatever is inside the HoM of your GW1 account, therefore there might be some kind of involvement in each character's personal story. And it doesn't necessarily alter Guild Wars canon or gameplay.
As a side note, the accomplishments you read in the inscription of the Monument of Honor are related to the character who is using the hall, not the whole account, so even if it's displaying account wide accomplishments, if that character hasn't defeated Shiro, it won't say: "Let it be known, near and far, that Cantha's legends pay tribute to...".

And I'm putting another vote in the "not using another paragon hero" category, at least not unless I'm running some useless just-for-fun builds or need Keiran's character for a screenshot-spree. XD There's just a lot of other options already available that are much more useful. I'll agree with a few other people and say that it might have potential when 7 heroes rolls around...but we'll see.
Rites
In any game out there, the player characters are basically "allies" of the main characters in the storyline. Doesn't matter that it was actually you doing the deeds, being the ally of the main story's hero means that the main hero will always be the one that gets the props.
HoM....... yeah as someone pointed out, its just a points tally that will give you rewards in GW2 (probably similar to /bonus).
Although I must admit I haven't done WiK or the wedding stuff yet, I was looking forward to doing them. Gaining another paragon hero..... not sure what to think since at this time I have yet to use the 2 I have. Although I am open to possibilities..... I'm still trying to figure a good team combo for Anton and Zenmai. (yes I have read the many negative posts about the assassins as heroes, but I am determined to keep trying). Considering that I run either full ranger heroes or Olias/Xandra/Livia combos all the time with my ranger, I wouldn't mind a change of pace.

I must admit I actually had to go to the wiki and read all the articles before I could believe they really did this...
They took the greatest ranger ever seen in GW... and made him a paragon? Baseline paragon? And then they still give him a bow?
I dunno what to think or do. Does anyone even have a P/R build that works really well?

The bow is the most perplexing to me. Paragon... with a bow!?!?!? I would rather have the first skin. Not to mention a Longbow(pull says "Hi!") would have been more useful to most professions.
P/R(Bow)build? LOL!!! Have you seen the energy reqs on the good bow/ranger skills?
R/P(Spear)build? Now we can talk. Sad aint it?

It was interesting watching Gwen cast Flesh of My Flesh on him when he died.
Although I will note I was running him in place of Xandra (who had a hybrid spirits and restoration build) and he was running a motivation build in addition to Alesia and I found the party had a decent amount of difficulty completing content where Xandra in his place would have allowed us to stomp things (and not die due to her healing).
I will still use him after the hero cap is removed next year, but I don't like the current state of paragon skills.
