You're going to hate me. Also 8 characters, done in groups of 3, 3 and 2, just doing the quests ...

First group got 1 dragon.

Second group got 0 dragons.

Third group (i.e. smallest number of fortunes) got 2 dragons, within 5 lunar fortunes of each other - overlapping celestial dragons in the sky!!!

I should have taken a screenshot on an account that wasn't affected by Spiritual Possession ... but it was so unexpected I didn't even think of it.

So each of the 3 accounts has the dragon they wanted.

I don't know if I want to go through the trouble, I remember doing that one year, around 200 lunar fortunes and no celestial minis at all, that pretty much sealed the deal in me buying my pets during the event for years to come.

Does anyone have any tips, or ways to NOT get your ass runned over at the start of most matches? People get massacred at the beggining, and I was wondering if you've tried any different methods to avoid getting knocked down.

Use ram+shield immediatly at the gate and dash like 3 sec after ram ended.

should be the safest way but not as fast as keeping ram for uphill.

The problem for me this year is especially servor ping.. I had no problem last years but this time i'm getting kded from nowhere like everytime while i'm doing exactly the same thing( especially when i'm not blue or red)... I keep having some joke stucks, easy rubberbands, etc...

Plus i noticed Martin Alvito was in fact right about fast players in top100 this year: i just noticed most are just playing all the day and not playing if they're not blue/red or not having echo super on first boxes.... kinda pathetic and lame but well...I'm not really going to bother this year as 481 will probably not be enough at the end

Pay attention to what's happening around you, and remember what happened before.

Players that use Ram to grief are overwhelmingly likely to continue to do so. Learn who they are, and their patterns, so that you can use Shell before they Ram. Similarly, players that use Ram for speed will use it in the same spots over and over again. Learn where those spots are.

As you play more, you'll start to get a feel for when a mass of players will trigger a griefer's use of Ram, and use Shell accordingly. Keep in mind that a premature usage of Shell is almost always better than a late usage, so don't be afraid to use it.

Finally, notice that Ram has a specific animation, and that it can be dodged via strafing if you're far enough away when it triggers. That can save you if you've already spent Shell or know you'll need to save it for a few seconds later.

It seems I am quite lucky with the dragon. I think I got it near the 40th Fortune (out of 75 opened in total). Well, less time needed to farm and more time to stand on the Rings.

Paying attention to the racers around you is always a good idea.

Even better than that though is to realize that it's not the end of the world if you get rammed at the start. If you're going for a record, yeah, you're probably boned. If you just want to win though, you're safe with eating the two seconds of time or so and saving your Shell for a later time. There have been all kinds of times where I've been knocked twice before the first checkpoint and ended up in first by the second checkpoint, because the Shell I started with saved me from someone's Ram that they punched as soon as they crossed the first checkpoint.

If you know how to keep your speed up, getting knocked at the start is pretty negligible.

I agree that it's pretty lame that people multiaccount this arena so much, but I haven't thought up a solution to that yet, so I've got none to offer.

When I recently posted my 483.2k, I had someone in that race PM me later asking me if I wanted to race on his other accounts, so that I could win more beetles. I turned him down, for obvious reasons.

The list last year was cut off just above 482k. That's not hard to achieve, given all of the information that's available, particularly of an entire run that gets 482.9k. People just have to learn how to execute it properly, as well as identify the obvious changes that have been made in the route since then.

Getting 482k on several accounts is still correlated with big luck ( having perfect start + echo super) and entering a lot.. The idea would have been to make the mini unsellable in my opinion, i guess it would still be a great reward for players... I did play a lot today and faced many guys from top50 ( this year) and i can pretty much say that 80% at least did stop if they weren't satisfied...

If they can't do anything against multi launch abuses, the most obvious solution however would be to make players not moving anymore in the arena get dishonor... Basically, what they do is enter and change account if they get fast kd or no super + echo, but that's quite as much as if they /resign on one account, thus they should get dishonor for that ..

side note : i was luckier on fortunes, got a dragon upon 16 fortunes

I think this would be a good start. It would slow down multiaccounting in the sense that you wouldn't really be able to run several races at once and play through only on the ones that the combo shows up on, and thus force people with multiple accounts to only go through them one at a time. It wouldn't prevent them from potentially getting high scores with all of those accounts, but it would make the process of getting there much slower.

have you ever gotten the message 'you are not standing in the rings' when you are afking standing on the rings (and have been--and have been having tickets taken/won etc)?....was very strange thing I saw today wish I had taken a screen shot of it---

I waited until the round was over...walked out of my ring and back in, and didnt get the message again....but it was weird as I had been standing there for hours already.

I only got 84 fortunes this year, which gave me 4 celestial mini's. My guildmate did the same and got none. It seems that either people are really lucky, or really unlucky.

Yes, it's pretty much a gamble. I open 6-700 each year and get none.

It would still fix the problem a bit.. Actually, i got surprised a bit earlier when i wondered if a guy was a bot, as he suddenly stopped moving when i was more or less abusing stucking him... So basically i was doing that quite often by then and 6 guys ( from top100) did stop moving anymore... quite strange though...

But well even by then, i was mostly trying to piss off players by using blast when they were far away and i rarely ever got a flame for it.. I don't really usually like calling everyone that seems better a cheater, but i am sure that roughly 20% of the ladder does bot the race.. I really still can't believe , due to in game pings, people using ram randomly, luck relying boxes , etc that it's again the same players in the top100... I can believe some play 24/7 and thus get luck, but it can't happen to all these...

That's gonna be an other year of people instantly going to kamadan selling their 10 zippys on abusive prices..

wooot found a lame district (yeah someone said they were hosting it---had no clue) and we FAILED!!
