Its sad that is something considered unordinary in GW though.

And there are no jerks in this game anyway, just stupid people and those who came from FPS's.

Ya, just about half an hour ago I was running around without any armor on in Ascalon City on my storage character (since a storage char doesn't need armor) and someone PMed offering to buy me some armor.

Those of us who play FPS's think the same about you, you should know.

I have met a few nice people. Most recently, when I was prowling the Tombs for the 3rd time in a row I didn't get any green drops from the Darknesses. I ofcoarse said it out load and suddenly the ranger next to me gave me Victo's Shield which had dropped in her name. Her reason: "I already got one last run". I thought that was very nice of her.

As for the naked storage character, mine is a orange/brown mesmer named Cid of Storage I made in PvP for instant storage access :]

well it happened to me a few time to switch stuff between 2 accs, and sometimes, need to move stuf a lot, u give/take stuff from the other char, sell to the merch, get back at the storage.. etc
looks like there are always ppl noticing yer moves and try to jump between yer 2 chars to be the one u d give stuff by mistake, not being 100% paying attention cauz u gotta switch game windows a lot

rlly noob stuff .. ofc u ll be called NOOB cauz u wont give the guy some items

Well I just made a PvP so I could snag a -20 hp item from presear and another -50 cesta from the cities of ascalon quest.

actually it wasnt that...my friend had almost the same name as this guy.
They were pretty close together, but o well...lol i still gave my friend 100k anyways...remember....gold is just numbers on a screen, just numbers on a screen....

I started in FPS's actually..since I got GW I haven't touched CS:S, BF2/SF, Halo, etc though. What I meant was how the behavior of people in this game mirror many who play FPS generally. I have never been in any server where someone isn't insulting someone else..or getting into an argument..general bitching, etc. (One reason I don't play FPS's anymore hardly)

And for another person that was nice to me, a guildie in a former guild who gave me 4k so I could get my Droks Glads armor on my first character. Back then that was an incredibly amount of money to me..

And on a similar note, a person I knew who had the game long before me gave me 25k for nothing. (still was a ridiculous amount of money) I don't feel good about that though, as I just pestered him until he gave me something. (I was expected maybe 5k)

Thats why I do mine at Guild Hall, we got to be careful and not let this switch to another jerk tread.

My guildie gave me Victo's Axe for free!

I was working on a 55 monk and saved up enough for a rune, so I go to Drok's to buy one off someone. Saw a guy's ad and bought one from him. He was trying to get me to buy some more, but I kept telling him I didn't have enough money. He ends up giving me about 5 sup runes (some doubles) and 5 black dyes. Made my day...

havent played this game in a LONG time and going to start over soon, im hoping to find some nice people to help me hehehe

Our PUG last night failed the first time in the Aurora Glade mission. Then one guy took charge by carefully spelling out a plan (that mission really needs it) that worked very successfully. As there was a lot of gold armor drops on the second run, I mentioned that I would buy any Superior Necromancer runes. The take-charge guy offered me 4k to buy them (I traded 4k back cuz I didn't need the money...just wanted to buy off players instead of a trader). And when we got to the Henge, he rushed over to the rune trader and bought me a complete set! He just wanted to make a friend .

Hm, I get to Amnoon the first thing I see is "Running to Everywhere in the desert, Invite Self!" I got in, then the guy ran the whole Desert for free , he claimed to be drunk at that time..don't know if he even knew he was running for free.. well, I was still a noob so I thought that was nice

Great to see so many nice threads for a change.

Sometimes it takes very little to be nice in GW and the appreciation is usually much more.

Here's my example.

Now I've had friends and guildies gives me countless very good greens and gold itmes (best would be the likes of Malinon's shield and Razorstone back in the days when they were going for 100k+). I have also given away countless items and gold (including 35 ectos for someone's FoW).

But the nicest thing that happened to me was this:

In my newb days my 1st char was a mesmer. I played through most of pre-sear and was lvl10 or so going into the 1st mission. Now at that time I didn't know how to craft armor and when I found out I had very little gold (at some point I paid all my gold to buy a white 10-19 dmg or something like that staff with no mods because I couldn't find a high dmg weapon). Anyway I was doing this mission with a low level Ele and I kept dying over and over again with my crappy starter armor and we failed the mission. Noticing this, he asked me what armor I had and weapons. He then proceeded to buy me the armor from Ascalon, gave me a nice gold staff with some good mods, and helped me adjust my attributes to be able to use the staff (this took about half an hour because I had no idea what runes were at the time) as well as answer lots of my newb questions.

All this prolly cost about 1k (which is trivial compared to what I'd been given since) but that was by far the nicest thing anyone ever did for me. Oh and we went back and finished the mission too

I'm yet to see nice people in GW yet.

It's always been me who is the good guy, it's always been me helping other people out and it's always been me giving free stuff.

As for meeting nice people, the nicest thing that anyone has said to me in the game was "STFU n00b".

When i just started playing GW some 6 months ago i was a in piken spamming for a group to do some quests (even though you can do them with henchies -.-) and a lvl 20 warrior invites me to his group. He helps me finish all my quests while we chat and at the end he drops piles of each material (each containing 200 of that material) then he gives me a gold axe and proceeds to run me to Yaks Bend. I thanked him so much for his generousity but hes never on anymre =/

Hm, mine came recently....battling thru naphuli....I get a gold drop....(got 2 that run) and then a few minutes later another purple drops for me....well I hadnt had time to empty my char out so I was full of items...(and lagging as usual) I went to drop a cheap bow and instead dropped one of the gold items....the leader picked it up and tried to give it back to me 3 times (my lag wasnt allowing me to do much at that point)...finally a few minutes later I was able to drop the bow and then the leader comes up again and gives me back my gold item!! I was impressed and thanked him repeatedly (but probably not as much as I should have)
This was just last week or so....so if he is out there (was a warrior) thank you again!

In all my GW playing (since June last year) TO THIS DAY I have never seen more that 5k at any one moment in time. Back then, when I reached Droks, I thought I would keep going with my HoD armor and wait till I make more platinum to buy myself some max AL Droks armor. So I asked for a run to the next mission. The guy tried to run me, but failed twice. So to heal his ego, he showed me his two sets of FoW armor (Sweet Lord) dyed all black (obviously), and a 100k Shield. Then he just gave me 7k to by the armor with. So cool!

I've had a pretty much awesome GW experience. Never really suffered from someone doing something mean to me.

But I think the nicest thing is when someone just handed me 10k in ascalon city after I had just gotten my character post-sear. It was my first character .

I pretty much try to be as nice as possible, too. I'll lend my friends 6k no problem to help them afford droks armor, even if it's all I have. I actually paid for one of my friend's run to drok and complete drok armor set, materials and all. I don't mind being broke on GW because it gives me something to do with my time. If I have 25k sitting in my storage, why wouldn't I be more than willing to pay for everyone to get into FoW?

My guild has a socialist structure, whatever spare equipment everyone has, they hand on to others that need it. But then again nearly all of us know each other outside guild wars. We're not the richest people ever, but some of the things my guildies have done to help others has amazed me.
I once Pm'ed one of them to find he was running an assassin from LA back to ascalon city for free.
Another one of my mates found a warrior who was trying to buy a decent hammer (and he didnt have much money), so he bought victo's maul and gave it to the guy.

My long-time friend gave me a free run to Droks and Tanzit's Cleaver+Defender and 10 ectos for my last year's christmas present. That was sweet :P

In exchange I gave him Urgoz's longbow and a unid. req.8 shadow bow for his b'day this May (since he uses his ranger most of the time). That's the nicest thing I've done to someone and someone have done to me. Friendship goes a long way doesnt it...

I cant say ive had any really nice things happen to me, but i do like showing up at Yaks Bend, and iron Mines to do free runs when everyone else is yellin' running to Blah blah 2k...

quite much :P many free runs from unknown persons, free greens and other nice items that helped me out loads, a few 'very good job monk' D: ALWAYS very nice to hear. unfortunately not happening that often, they rather wait until they die, then blame and flame you..yikes. all the support from my guildies that basically throw stuff after you and force you to take things. always end up having a 2 hour conversation with them why not to take the things, and somehow end up doing a mission together and totally forget the item stuff.

but, this was probably one of the nicest ive seen.

was farming in SF, got 2 20/20 dragos flatbows at once (rofl the team was pissed, and it was the same day they 'came out' ), went to warcamp, one wanted to buy it for 80k. i trade him, he puts in 80g, i didnt notice. i map away, around 10 mins later he whispers me, saying he put 80g instead of 80k in our trade. thought i got scammed, but fortunately he told me to come back to warcamp and gave me my 80k. GW really needs those people

of course, im giving as well and not only taking stuff from people. :P

although, lately, with all those jerks im seeing...im slowly losing the nervs to stay polite :/

most likely it was during that huge price inflation a few months back, I was selling black dye for 20-something K. person comes along, and me being impatient, pulls the whole switch platnum for gold trick. Not noticing, i run over to my bank, and try to deposite my money, and notice that I am holding some change. Quickly pming the person, I demand my money, since I was a bit angry. The person plays innocent for a while, claiming that she had lost the 20k. She convinces me to try to log off then back on. I do. When I get back she tells me that she was lying and gave the dye back, saying that she only wanted to see if she could get the scam trick to work, not wanting to actually scam me.
other then that, nothing much...

Hmm, if this is the nicest thing that's happened to you, I shudder to think what's the worst thing that's happened to you.

I've got two, someone running me from ascalon to desert for free, twice. And someone giving me 20 something K, just to buy my monk runes.

My luck is in my PUG's.

During the Jungle missions, I found a really good PUG who got me through Bloodstone, Aurora and The Wilds, all the while complimenting on my monking. I think only 1 person died that entire mission, and it was while I was loading the map.

Another one is when I was Queen Farming. The group I got in had a Warrior, a Air Spiker and a Nuker. While we were doing it, I was still using my crappy 11-22 req 11 smite +27 health +7 armor vs elements, and the Kepkhets Refuge drops for a different person, that person, knowing my crappy weapon, gives it to me. I thanked them for about 1 whole minute, then they told me to stop spamming

Afterwords, they ran me to Elona, which they then did the mission with me. We had an assassin on our team and I was being a retard that mission (ran up to a mob with a bomb and dropped it, oops) Anyways, a Monsterous Claw dropped for someone, and that person gave it to me ^^

LOL and I do! Well, you know how you meet an extremely nice person in a random PUG, say "can add add u to friends?" and then kinda never seem to meet up again???? well I really love to say hi outta the blue and profess that I have a level 20 blah blah and if they ever need help to call on me well for fun I looked over my little friends list and i have crap drops but I must say my friends are GOLDen!

Sir Nut - Ran me everywhere in a day! Gave me an IDS, Victo's Axe,...just for starters lol...then became friends and he's run me everywhere and helped on a billion missions lol
Hunter - Ran me from ascalon to the desert- ya way all in one day for free, gave me awsoeme chaos axe, later a mini pet..that is just the highlights...lol
Beatrix - Gave me an awesome weapon and showed me how to farm the UW
Oswalia - Got our sorry teams butt thru THK lol
Sister - always helps heal if available and met her thru someone else
Sme - ran my noob butt all over the desert!
Gnuz - helped and saved the day on Villany of Galrath quest
Como - leant me awesome weaps and ran me to the desert free
Drizzit - ran my ranger several times to make it to droks for free
Nut... - ran my necro to kryta free
Bwian - sold me a green and gave me one free
Tien Mu- help me and a bunch of noobs thru tons of missions in a row, changed out chars to make it fast, i had never seen so many maxed out armored lvl 20's lol free of course
Renzafel- let my lvl 15 join the Iron mines mission and u know how picky people are there lol
Pointless - after a basic ALL shout question he actually replied in detail!
Feisty - accepted my low level necro on the Thirsty mission and showed me how to report a freeloader, lol and yes we successfully did the mission and got bonus!
Adora - gave me a gold earth wand and i had just met her in a fow team
Vahalla - just met me and loaned me an awesome bow when my ranger was a noob
I Love ... - stayed when all the other monks left a tombs team and he didn't get a green!
Neo - helped my noob monk do quests when NO one would answer for help in kryta
Cry - ran my monk to get my 15pt skill quest done
Petrol - did the entire Elona mission for the cost of tellin a joke lol
Lady - let me have a zodiac shield from the deep that was nice!
Pac - explained the whole faction confusion thing till i got it lol
Daqan - saw my sorry armor and gave me 65 amber ! then a sigil to finally get a hall! not to mention helped me look at all the armor, dye it and then look at all the guild halls and helped me pick it too!

I love people like this that offer good will and not scams when u play in GW...this list was my First Encounter with that person..many have become good gaming buddies so if u see ur name....I haven't forgotten all your generosity!

I am the leader of a pretty small, close-knit guild. Our Team Speak server is only 10 slots...recently, I had a pretty aweful thing happen to me when I lost my job (Dog Trainer)...soooo, the TS server went down, cause I couldn't afford to keep it up. A guildie of mine decided, meh, wtf? and opened it up again!

Not only that, but I also couldn't do the Factions thing, because between all my bills, 49 someodd $$ just wasn't in my budget...so guess what...He buys me Factions, even though I kept telling him not to. Needless to say, that is THE nicest thing anyone who plays the game has ever done for me.

when i first bought the game i had no clue how to make money, heck i even tryed to solo everything cause i didnt know henchies were at my disposle. Well anyway, i have been playing with a gaming clan for over a year know *M.M.S.* The Multiplayer Marshall Service and along the way we have people that join us if they are cool just let them throw on tags and what not. Anyhoo one of my clan members had the game and bought me my first armor ever in guild wars! Thats probably the nicest thing.

A guy did give me 50k once, which was nice but the first armor i think was a tad more "emotional"

The nicest thing anyone has done for me recently was this evening. I'd popped into Breaker Hollow again and asked why this was the only place I'd ever seen where no one talked. Seriously, no one ever says anything there. It's weird. Anyway, this very very nice person took time out to talk to me and answer my admittedly noob questions about what was going on there and made me feel not so alone in the game. Thank you.

The absolute nicest thing anyone's ever done for me was to give me 50k. I'll never forget that generosity and kindness and if he ever comes back to GW, I've got his 50k waiting for him. Thank you.

Took my Canthan Necro to Lions Arch and tried to get a run to Droks, but came up empty in English Districts (Except for the guys asking 25!!!k for the run)

Went over to German District 1 and tried again there. Got a run to Beacon Perch for 2k, but the guy wasn't realy good, and died several times. He apologized profusely and then offered to get me to Droks for another 1k. He tried, and got me to Camp Rankor but had to go. He told me "Vait here for a sek.." (complete with German accent ) and a few seconds later I was whispered and invited in by another wammo that said he came to finish the run. He got me to Droks eventually, even tho he died a few times too. At one point he had 60dp and I gave him a candy cane to finish the run.

When I got to Droks, I paid him the 1k and he left. I started to ask around, "LF run to Copperhammer Mine` because I wanted to buy some skills too. He whispered me back and asked "Want me to run you?"

I asked "How much?" and he replied " For free"

So I accepted. Ended up with him running me to Granite Citadel, Deldrimor Warcamp and Copperhammer Mines. Actually, he and 3 other wammo´s, taking turns... I gave him a 1k tip and a couple more candy canes.

a little give and take here, right after release I was bored with my pve char for a bit, so i went over to the hall of heros to pug a game, I was on my domination mesmer/shadow of weakness build, and advertised that I was looking for group and hat chat programs.

So I get picked up by these ClubG guys, and we end up holding the hall for two rounds. I get both sigils that dropped ( back when this actually ment somtehing. ) and ended up giving one of them to the guys just because I had no right to steal both, so I ended up getting a guild invite.

Great chaps, shame RL kicked my ass for a few months after release, never knew what happened to thim after they merged in with nO

Never give up on politeness... the jerks are why we have the Ignore option, and as we all know, there are lots of jerks just crying out to be ignored. The few polite folks that do exist need all the community support we can get!

My best friend in the game bought me 15k armor (crafting components and all) when I was still a n00b. I have wanted to delete the character because I hate the way I made him look, but the 15k armor is so sweet that there is no chance of me doing that as it would be very disrespectful.

We've been friends/guildies for over a year now.

got me my fow armor, took 7 hours it was after the book nerf btw, he was a very good tank

friend buying me 15k, buying tons of greens and then 1 guy on my 2nd day of Guildwars got me a Black Dye

and for a former guildie a monk gave him 20k
