Just a nice little event... once during Wintersday, a guy came up and said 'I'm giving away 1k to a person of each profession'. He gave my mesmer 1k out of the blue. Holiday spirit Minor thing, but public charity is pretty awesome.

I had been farming UW the whole night and i had about 8 ectos. I was tired so I decided to sell them. Someone made an offer, I said OK, opened up trade with him. He put in gold instead of plat. The trade went through and I was mad as hell. I announced that he was a scammer in chat, and he PMed me and asked what happened. I said "You traded me gold you bastard". He appologised and gave me back the ectos.
I dont know if he was actually trying to scam me however he gave them back. Was worth a lot of money considering i was broke at the time. Glad he was nice and gave it all back.

I had one guy give my monk caracter a staff because I stuck in it to the end when we kept having to do a mission over and over again. Because we kept dieing in it.

I was trying to buy a 10% furious sword hilt in pretty much every outpost:
Me: WTB 10% furious sword hilt 18k
Mr. Nice guy: Hi, they can be had for 15k at D1
Me: Thanks, I'll try there. So far I've only had koreans offer "40k ok?".
...district switch
Me: WTB 10% furious sword hilt
...the seller must have left, bugger. No luck at other outposts either.
...several minutes later:
Mr. Nice guy: Hey did you get the hilt yet? I found one for 14k
Me: wow o_o
He only wanted 14k, but I gave the guy 18k anyway. I mean, how often do you see unkwown people that are this helpful? Right before this incident I was in a fantastic FoW PUG. Makes me have faith in human race again.

I have started giving up the err worse chest drops from the nahpui chests, the items are mostly 11-13^50 with a non perfect mod on it or two but for a starting player the low req is nice. So i have been giving those away and i guess i had givent one away to someone who was desperate for a new weapon, well less then an hour later i was selling ecto in ascalon, when low and behold one of this guys guildy comes and gives me 2 ecto i tried to decline but he wouldnt let me. It kinda makes u feel good

When i first started this game i always hung around major towns (ascalon) and asked people question.. i tried to pick out people with nice armor since i figured they knew what they were doing and most of the time they would be really nice... 2 people ended up giving me osme pretty decent offhands for a lvl 10 necro but one person was over the top as far as helpfull for me.
I was in nolani academy and i was kinda discouraged because all the cool knights armor seemed so far away so i found a guy who had it and i asked him the usual nub questions like how do i get money and such and he took the time to show me armor crafters and showed me ways to get money and even put up with me all the way till i got to droks.. i mean he didnt buy me armor or anything but he gave me some guidance and really helped me out... even now from time to time i still talk to him and sometimes i give him advice now lol.
Also the first time i went through Tombs it took about 4 hours (my eyes hurt it was so long) and i ended up being the only person to not get anything so everyone ended up offering me items they got on the way to the end, some were nice weapons and then the monk even gave me a couple of green staffs and stuff which made me feel better.

Was doing a mission with 5 other guys. I was helping them out because i was level 20 and i was showing a member the ropes. There was another experienced player in the group who saved the mission several times, gave us candy canes to get rid of our dp's (strangers with candy can be nice sometimes... Sometimes....)
Afterwards, the dude knew i was looking for a better bow, and told me to talk to his other character. He was willing to trade the bow for free, and i felt too guilty for that and gave him all the gold i had in my pockets.
Sweet longbow, too.

The one nice person story I like to bring up is from a recent experience at Perdition rock. Someone was asking for like 30g or something, reason unknown. I was bored and gave the them the gold instead of being indifferent as we all usually are when people start askin for bits of gold while dealing with the merchants and so forth in town. The guy in exchange gave me a Mini Kirin pet. He didn't want it and gave it to me as a token of appreciation.
I love my lil' horsy guy....ahhhhh hugsssss.

Well, In fact I am quite glad i have such nive guildmates. One of them got a sup absorption rune, while they were liek 70k. He knew i needed one badly and he dropped it for me. Nice thing. I did a lot of duo farming tombs with him, and he gave me a lot of his ectos to help me out get my first obsidian armor. I really respect him. :] And I got another guildie, who would always give me any item i need if he has it, since i helped him get his first droknar armor. I really enjoy playing with such guys. And I wish I could give away things like that, but these guys are quite older than me, not so caring about the game itself, but simply enjoying it. They are the men...

Oh hell where to start.
-summarizes-
Guildies:
I've received to many green items to count.
Sup Runes. (Or any type of rune for that matter)
Help with missions/quests.
Free Mats for any type of armour.
Members have donated well over 400k overall to the guild.
Free Droks runs.
Free Desert runs.
Free runs period.
Someone tried to give me a mini-Hydra back on the 1st day mini pets were introduced, I said no though. My oldest character is only 5 months old. ^_^
Of course random pointless conversations, which I personally love and don't get enough of. (Huh? Why is this nice? It's nice cause I'm a monk main and they don't spam me with "Help me with 'x' mission/quest" and continue the pointless conversation. For me its nice can ~chill~ in game. ^_^ )
And A LOT of little things.
Random People:
Free complete desert run + Elona Mission & Bonus.
Someone gave me 1 ecto and 1 ruby (Back when ruby's were worth 6k).
Received random dyes.
Someone gave me a key in FoW, ended up getting a very nice bow for my ranger.
Anyone who ever answered a question I had in game chat and not called me a "noob".
Anyone with a complement.
The person who gave me the link to Guru back when I first started playing. XD
Both these list would be much bigger if I go out of just GW. Which also includes someone in my guild buying me the expansion pack (For 'x' game) and mailing it to me when I couldn't afford it.

I did alot of runs with my Elementalist through the Underworld when Tombs first changed. During one of my runs we got to the end with the bosses and defeated one of them. One of the greens was Victo's Blade and belonged to someone who was dead. She replied that someone rez her so she could get it but time had passed and it became up for grabs, so I grabbed it. She screamed at me that I had stolen it but I told her I was going to hold it for her until she got rezzed. She came back to life and I gave it back to her. She said she didn't think anyone would do that.

I had a neat thing happen to me today.
I am going for Tyrian Grandmaster Cartographer. So that obviously means that I eventually have to suck it in and visit.. you guessed it, the drok run. I spent probably an hour in both beacons and rankor trying to find a group to fight one way or the other, henchies are boring (and difficult) and the Beacon's ones are useless anyway.
After a few -_- groups, I find a group of three wammo's, fighting north to War Camp, just saying "Come with us! We'll have fun." I figured hey- at least I could map up to that point.
So we set off- me as an SS, three wammos and two healer henchies. Now I'm no fool but with all the wammos of this day and age I figured that at least one of them would be anti-whatever. And it blew my socks off how well we did, being an unusual mix. Not only that, I mentioned along the way that my aim was to map the entire route eventually- and I was shocked to hear all three wammos go, "sure, let's do it". Totally caught me off guard. I was like you sure? you sure? >_< I mean, this just *doesn't* happen anymore in today's GW society. So it was really cool to play with people that 1. knew what the heck they were doing and 2. just wanted to kill stuff for the sake of killing stuff and having fun.
So we got to warcamp and took a breather, tried for a few greens but to no avail, then one of the wammos had to leave. So the rest of us continue- just the 5(3) of us. and we not only finished snake dance, but got all of dreadnought's drift too, before they had to leave. I was astonished that people like this still existed- only playing for fun, helping others out just on a whim. I mean I do this too when I can, but it's just not common enough.
So a big thank you to the three of you that helped me out just for the heck of it today, you know who you are

Well, a few hours ago I was in Raisu Palace... with my assassin.
I don't think I need to say nobody would take me or accept me. -_-
I waited a full hour, being rejected.
And some guy said he was offering to solo the mission with hench with someone for 3k.
I went with him, and beated the mission quite easily in 24 minutes, with one death. He was a formiable ranger.
Even if he asked money, I was pleased that this mission was finally over.

Well...
Today doing lots of chest runs, I died early (gg) and stayed to wait for the next run..but the group leader runs across the entire map and res's me. Gettting resed rarely even happens in chest runs Ive been on.. (Note I am talking about Nahpui Quarter) but that guy went all out. I later resed him when he died to return the favor.

It was a while ago, when I think black dye was once 40k at trader and you could sell for 26. I was a newbie back then. ^^ Some cocky person was bragging about how he is so rich and stuff, I was like "you bully rich people!" in all chat. Then this random guy pms me, asks if I am wealthy. I laugh and say sure not. Then he says ok, invites me and opens trade with 25k in it. To me that was a lot back then! I tried to just shrug it off and not want it, he said it was just fine. So yep, got a free amount of 25k. ^.^ Wow that made my day! I just remembered his name.. I would love to pay him back, or at least say thanks again. Eh, I do good Karma type things though. Hanging out sometimes in ascalon/piken and give info/items to some new players.

well... i have a few things to add. For starters, when was on my first character back when he had just gotten to beacons perch, i saw all these people giving droks runs for 2k... being my cheap (and broke) self i looked for someone doing a free test run. after awhile, some one pmed me and gave me 2k as long as i spent it on a run. so i get into a group, only to realize she's in the same group with me. she tagged along with the run and gave me another 2k and the runner 2k for just letting her go along, even though she had already been to droks.
Second, my guild helped me get my low leveled warrior though ascension missions and gives all the materials i could ever need for free.
Finally, the grand finale, the nicest thing some one *is* going to do for me... my guildie has everything he wants... armor, weapons, so forth. so, being the rich guy he is, he bought another guildie 15K armor and is going to give me 100k to buy a kuunavang as soon ashe finishes helping another guildie.

Two nice players in one day - karma is nice
First was a player who was willing and trusting enough to do a double cash trade for an Urgoz bow (instead of cash + ecto). Found a quiet district, took screen shots, shook hands, went our merry way.
Second was a guy needing a bow mod. After starting discussion he went quiet and I thought "Ok, lost the deal, moving on". A few minutes later, he PM'd back to say he was having a problem with a silly player, thanked me for my patience, and gave me 2K more than the mod was worth for waiting and talking nicely to him! After that we had a chat about armour, weapons and guilds... and went on our merry way with a /bow!

my alliance member gave me a free pare of perfect daggers for free. We were faction farming and chest running at the same time, i was looking at my old daggers and hoping for some better ones in the chests and he just gave them to me because req 10 or more isnt really anything special, but they did to me because they had perfect mods. Me and him are real good friends now.

Today I was in droks and I was saying WTB Shiverpeak keys. Now someone PMed me and said:
Him:May I ask you a question?
Me:Sure
Him:Your buying keys, so im guessing your going on chest runs, right?
Me:Yes
Him:Wheres a good place around here to chest run?
Me:I do it in witmans folly, usually 3 chests, 1 gold.
Him:Thank you
After that, he came to me and gave me 1k for the info. Pretty nice if you ask me.

Over my playing time in gw i have given away over 700k to friends, guildes and new players. not counting backpacks full of weapons and upgraades, at 1 point i was down to my last 100k but since hen i have bounced back to my old self.

I like to play Santa from time to time, whilst doing later-on missions, collecting random staffs/foci/shields/upgrades, If they don't say "highly Salvageable" I like to give them away to new players on Shing Jea Island. From time to time I'll go across to Tyria (which I bought after Factions) and pick up items there... One problem is, I can't advertise free stuff too much in Shing Jea, otherwise I get a flood of people 'just arriving' as level 2 players...
I also like to move around the towns in Shing Jea and usually advertise "Free stuff for lvl 6 or less", and gradually move the lvl up if there are no takers. One guy arrived in Shing Jea as lvl 2 after I'd moved towns and PMd me saying he wanted to see what I had. Suspecting he had just made a new character in order to get free stuff I said "Ok, I'm in Tsumei Village, I like to move around, meet me here"...time passed and he never arrived, 5 minutes later I get another whisper from him saying "I'm stood on the bridge in Shing Jea, I'm getting very pissed off now..."...which continues for quite a while. I ignore him for a bit but after a while it gets too annoying so I ignore him. If he'd have REALLY wanted what I had he could have just walked to Tsumei Village - it's not hard!
I have stopped giving stuff away in Shing Jea Monastry now because people tend to abuse Santa's trust now...There are a few good towns in Shing Jea where you can find real new players who actually appreciate what you're giving them, and not the type of fake lvl 2 character who would just salvage it straight away!

I met this nice little boon/prot(female monk) in a thunderhead bonus group, who stay with us the entire time even we miss out the bonus(lit beacon a little too late).
The MM and ele had left the game, but the monk stay and help out others to finish the mission. Many thanks to you(if you are reading this)
Back in my grawl farming days, I used to pick up some collector's ascalon longbow and that 20/20 healing staff to hand them out around yak's bend area. I stop doing that due to the same reason you mention.

We got all the way to Halls (first time i won under my name so i extremely exited ), but at 0:05, the warrior err7. We held halls 4 times. Since we felt sorry for the warrior, we all decided to share the sigils (2 each).
He and I became very good GW friends. PvP and PvE style. When i had need for powerleveling or 55ing, he would help out. When he needed either, i would help him. Most of my tombs runs, i had him come with us. Its really sad, but he left the game for rl stuff, but before leaving he gave me all of his stuff which included 119 ecto, 100k, 10 shards, and his account alltogether.
This was the greatest gamer i have ever met. I know we can't post names, but F that . Nameless I I , RESPECT!!
The other extremely nice people i've met in guild wars have come from the guild Knights And Heros [Beer]. They are an alliance of about 250-300 member who are so friendly and selfless. They can't stop giving eachother free runs, mission completion, materials, weapons, and also free fow sets every month. I'm sad i had to leave them, but they are doing fine even without me . Alexi, Carmon, Doomslayer, Black Kid, and all of you at [Beer], PROPS!
Guild Wars is filled with nice people, you just have to be equally nice.
