I'm a PvE only player...how come I can't have a chance at winning$100k in real money?

I personally don't do any PvP and may or may not do it in the future. But I was on Guildwars.com website and noticed that they will be offering the winners of the next PvP tournament a chance to go to E3 and play at there booth...what about us people who only do PvE..how come we don't get a chance to win $100,000 .....why not offer something for PvE accomplishments?

Anyway..I'm not trying to bash PvP players..cuz it's just about what you like to do..I just think it would be cool if they offered something similar to PvE players...as much as a chance as winning a PvP tournament. It seems to me they only offer great rewards to PvP...what do you think?

Ok..i'm feeling defeated at the moment...just felt like saying if there is a PvE side to the game then why not acknowledge that side of the game with some rewards....doesn't have to be money..or be done by some sort of tournament.....anyways..i'm getting stomped on this..but oh well..just felt like ranting about it!

Because in PvP you are directly matching teams against each other.

In PvE, what would you have them do? First one to Droknar's from Ascalon gets $100,000? First one to kill 50 Charr gets $25,000? PvE isn't a competition.

the game is aimed torwards PVP,GVG. ive always thought

im really into pve and rarely pvp. but when i take my wammo into the arenas i always get made fun of because im an obvious pve created character with my chaos axe and my (non ebay)FoW armor


i do think it would be nice to reward pve players but what would you have to do to win something? complete every mission in the game with henchies only? lol

Well of course it COULD be used as a competition but it wouldnt be that interesting nor would anyone care cause there wouldn't be anything creative enough. This is a stupid question as to why there is no money for PvE players. Its common sense cmon

Although I agree that PvE should have more incentive (seeing as how I'm a PvE player too) I understand why PvP is the main "focus" of the company. GW was designed to be the ultimate in "balanced" PvP, and was never really designed to have a PvE aspect. You were (basically) supposed to go through PvE to get the skills, then go into PvP and fight each other... a lot. Using your skill to defeat your opponents, as opposed to only using specific setups, was supposed to be the main purpose to winning in PvP, which it is (for the most part). This is the reason they advertise PvP so much, because it shows just how varied the different peoples builds are, and yet how they all have their strengths and weaknesses in the battle. Basically, good PR.

Lets be creative...and forget about the fact of playing againts other players...obviously you can't in PvE...what about the person with the most experience points gets to go to the E3...or time spent in game...or got every skill...or most chars with completion of all missions and quests...doesn't have to be player vs. player thing. Please stop getting stuck on the PvP side.

many people have every skill, many people have every mission complete on their characters. as for the most experience, it would be some farm bot lol

Guild Wars. That's why PvE doesn't get $100,000. Guilds do, because the game is Guild Wars. There is no way to have a competition in PvE for money, because there isn't a measure that would show skill.

Because they can't give money to a farmbot (not meaning you)

So 55 farmers get to go?

People with no lives get to go?

Way too many people have already done this.

This one is semi-viable, because most people will just get run through the game and not actually finish the missions. Unfortunately, it really doesn't work because after the first few times through the game, most of the missions get extremely tedious... so most people wouldn't even bother with the non-important missions if they didn't have to do them.

The point isn't that it has to be PvP only, it just is simply the BEST way to showcase how balanced and competetive and skill-based the game is...

Most Exp. points - GRIND, NOT the point of the game, which is to have skill

Time spent in-game - get a decent comp. and leave it on overnight

Every Skill - Ember Light Camp skills, 1k each, and then cap a few elites. It could take a while to cap all elites and get money for all skills, but again, it seems like a grind.

Most Charactars with completion of all missions and quests - If more than one person has that, how can you measure that AGAINST other people?


*This game was BUILD for PvP. The rewards are aimed at what the game was aimed at. You want in-depth PvE where that is the company's main focus, go buy the Morrowind series.

There is money in competitive sport where people play against people. This is the way of the world.

LOL..ok..so my theory is getting bashed pretty hard..I don't know too many people with every skill AND elite for both primary AND secondery professions..if you've done that then let me know..cuz that would be an accomplishment!!!!

They could have some competion for PvE like say those real life TV shows eg. Survivior but this wouldn't be for money just in game items or gold.When it comes to real money PvP GvG work hard at it.

You're know, you make an excellent point. They should have a kick-ups world cup, too!

If you're content to resign yourself to killing mediocre AI controlled enemies 12 hours a day, that's your prerogative. Asking for a reward for wasting your time, that isn't.

If you want a game that rewards time spent competing with simple macros, try a MMORPG.

Edit: The reason GW has such a large PvE player base even though it's primarily PvP is because it isn't p2p. People who play computer games 24/7 tend not to have jobs.
