I never get "writer block" as is. Instead, I get the "nah, it's too sucky, no one will like it" feeling on 90% of my stuff I do

Anyway, let's get back to the story, block or not! We've been offtopic too much now! ...I'll start...

-----------------

The rest of the night passed on uneventfully, and it was completly refreshed that our heroes, excepted Dac who was responsible for the last night shift, woke up to the morning. After a small breakfast, Dac wasted no time, and planned the road to take for the days to come*:

"...Alicia suggest that we dine at the Ettin's Foot Restaurant up at Nebo Terrace. What do you think of it?"

"I've already dined there" said Omega. "Very nice food there, and it's cheap, so why not?"

"Okay then.Just be sure to wake me up when we arrive!" Dac then continued his presentation. "After that, it's one long road to Lion's Arch. If I calculated it right, we should only arrive there when the sun has completly dissapeared into the horizon**." "Here we will eat, and sleep at one of the local inn." He paused for a moment. "Then tomorrow, we leave early in the morning because we have another long way to go, and-

"Wait a minute, Dac" Sanjinu interrupted him. "Where will we stop before we get in the Shiverpeaks?"

"I was getting there. In fact, we will enter the Peaks late in the afternoon, then we will stop at the village near Beacon's Perch. We will sleep at Lily's house, then-"

"Hold on a second" Vanatiel interrupted Dac. "Who is Lily?"

"Will you let me finish?" Dac's voice was clearly irritated. "Lily Adelbern, no relation to the king, I knew her when I was young. It's quite a long story, and I dont want to tell it now." Dac paused yet again. "So, that's what will happen today and tomorrow. Anybody has comments?"

No one said a word.

"Perfect! Oh yeah, before we go, I'd like you to meet an helping hand in our struggle against the charr..."

On these words, Dac jumped out of the wagon and walked to the watchtower, the rest of the party following him. When they finally arrived, Skry was waiting for them at the foot of the tower.

"My friends, meet Skry. Skry, meet-"

"I know." Skry's voice was a bit cold, yet had a bit of joy in it.

The group quickly adopted this new person in the group. After all, they needed all the help they could get, and Dac would never befriend someone he didn't trust...

And so Dac Vin, Vanatiel, Alicia, Malikai, Sanjinu, Omega and Skry finally left Beetletun, and headed toward Nebo Terrace. But unbeknowst to them all, even the now sleeping Dac, the shadows were still watching them, even in the bright sunlight of Kryta...

*It should be noted that Dac Vin has spent a lot of time on the road, despite hids rather young age. So it is not surprising that our heroes let him plan the road to take...

**Yes, I do exagerate the distances a bit!

PS: It really look like as I didn't like Beetletun much, right?

((OOC: im gonna post my char and his stats, but ill need someone to give me an instance to join the story))

Name: Golden Knight (Gold for short)
Race: Human
Age: 19
Class: W/Mo
Weapon: Long Sword
Armor: Tall Shield, Knight's Armor
Bio: When Gold was three, he began to take Swordsmanship lessons for self-defense. Then, when he was eight, he began to learn sword atacks, for he wanted to become a warrior. On his eleventh birthday, he graduated from his Swordsmanship lessons and started taking Prayer lessons to learn how to heal himself and others. He became a very accomplished student, and became one of the most well-known guards in Ascalon. Then, when he was seventeen, the Searing came. He barely survived the crystal meteors and the army of Charr that attacked. His sword arm was broken, and had to wait a few months for it to recover. Once his arm healed, he had one of the Armorers in the Ascalon Camp craft him some Knight's Armor. Now, two years after the Searing, he set out, rage welling up in his eyes as he saw the ruins of Ascalon for the first time since the Searing itself, and began to remember the friends he lost that day.

((OOC: well, those're my stats, mebbe i could head into the shiverpeaks and meet u guys there))

"Damn it's cold...." Vantie shuddered, as a cold gust touched him. The shiverpeaks were awesomely beautiful, Vantie had never reached this part of Tyria. He was amazed by the sheer size of the mountains, the vastness of the land, and just the huge, open spaces.

"Having some sightseeing, are we?" A voice mocked at Vantie.

Vanatiel quickly flicked his head toward Omega, who was smiling at his own joke.

"Kiss my.." Vantie started to say.

But then Alicia spoke up. She looked at Vantie meaningfully and scolded him. "Hey! You know better than to swear in front of Baby Mali!" she cried.

Vantiel started to grumble, muttering words than no one could hear. Then he drifted off into his own world, still muttering to himself. Alicia could tell when he entered his "trance" because of his eyes. She could even see it right now,
darkening his hazel colors.

Suddenly, the vehicle bumped up and all the passengers were suspended in the air for a few seconds. Then gravity took in, and shove them back to their seats.

"Dac! Hey! Can you seriously call yourself a driver?!" Vantie yelled at the front of the vehicle.

He heard Dac Vin laugh, chuckling gleefully.

"Welcome to Beacons Perch!"

"Ouch! Stupid cold, I hate these mountains!!!!!" Gold exclaimed. Having recently defeated a group of Stone Summit Dwarves, managing to get his leg cut in the process, he now complained about his cut getting hurt from the bitter cold of the Shiverpeaks. But we don't need to know that now, do we? "Lets see," Gold muttered, consulting his map, "Beacon's Perch ain't too far away, I'll pitch camp there."

"Thank you," Gold said to the man he just sold some items to. "Anytime mate," replied the man. Gold began walking over to the tent he pitched, but then he felt something. He had trained well as a monk, and could feel the powers of the Gods when they we're close. "By Balthazar's Sword, who could have such power?" thought Gold. He began to walk torwards the area where the energy was coming from, and saw a caravan of people. "Okay, looks like I'd better introduce myself to them," he muttered. "Hello there!" he said to a man, who appeared to be a necromancer. The man, as well as his companions, turned to face Gold. "Hello. Who might you be?" asked a lady, who looked like an elementalist. Gold replied, "I am the Golden Knight, Gold for short, of the former guard of Ascalon. I have set out to try to avenge the destruction of my home, and so I came here. I sensed your powers, they come from the Gods, yes?" "Yea, so what?" replied the necromancer. The elementalist shoved her elbow into the necromancer, to which he replied, "Ouch! Oh....yes, our powers come from the Gods, why do you ask?" Gold replied, "I believe you could help me, for if you wield the power of the Gods, then I might fit in to your little group, as I wield some, just some, mind you, some of the power of Dwayna, and if I am not mistaken, you all have set out to do something important as well. I seek to destroy the great Charr army that devastated Ascalon, and you....?" "We are doing the same," replied the elementalist.

((hope this works out....))

Mali was excited about starting his training when the group arrived in Beacons Perch. His mom set up a little area near the place he was staying to train. His mom began teaching him the basics concentration etc. Pretty soon, Mali had all but one of the spells down Meteor Shower. "Come on Mali. his mom said encouraging him. " If you can do Fire Storm then you can do this".
Mali kept trying over and over again to get it right, he let out a high piercing scream "I CAN"T DO IT!!!" A huge meteor shower rained down on the training area melting the snow where it hit. Mali fell down exhausted, his Mom ran over to him all the while thinking the "The powerful elementalist spells are fueled by Mali's anger." She knew he could hurt anyone friend or foe if he didn't get over this problem.

Alicia figured that she should take Malikai to Vanatiel. He knew about pain, he knew about darkness, he was a necromancer, for good's sake. If Mali couldn't get over the issue that his power was fueled by anger, his faults will cause destruction and chaos.

It was on the moonlit night that she decided to visit Vantie's camp, a few yards away from the rest of the group's camp. Typical of him, She thought to herself. She herself was camping by Dac Vin and Sanjinu. Malikai usually loved to play with them both, but he was scared of Vantie. Whether it was from Vantie's malicious smile, his snake eyes, or his empty stare, she would never know.

She stood up, careful to tread around the fire's blazes, walking to Dac Vin's camp. She knew she would find Malikai there. But to her surprise, he found Mali asleep on Dac Vin.

She gasped, her air withdrawing in a sharp gust.

"He treats Dac as if he were his father..."

She stood staring at the two for a while. They looked as if they were father and son. Their features, their appearance... Alicia was startled by this discovery. But she could wait no longer.

She walked over to Dac Vin and shook him.

"Eh?" Dac mumbled, still foggy from fatigue.

"Wake up Dac...I have to take Mali" Alicia whispered softly.

"Oi, already? Can't he spend the night with uncle Dac? What's the rush?"

Alicia looked at Dac Vin meaningfully. She didn't have to say anything. All the men in the camp knew "Alicia's Gaze". When she used it on one of them, they knew she meant business.

Dac slowly sat up. He put his arms around Mali.

"Ey little fella, Mum needs you right now."

"But I dont want to go, uncle Dac." the voice replied.

"None of that nonsense now, be gone."

Mali stood up, and slowly walked over to Alicia.

"Where are we going Mummy?" he asked sleepily.

Alicia looked down at him. And gave him a hug.

"To see Uncle Vantie, Mali...to see Uncle Vantie."

Alicia was worried. She didn't know how Vantie would believe her, and how he would react. She cared for Vanatiel a lot, but she knew that he wasn't Mali's favorite Uncle.

But Alicia was even more worried about how Mali would take it.

"Run along to Uncle Vantie's camp" Alicia said, pointing toward the east of the camp.

"Im scared Mommy."

"I'll be there in a minuet, Mali." she said, turning back to her tent.

"I don't wanna go alone."

"Mali," Alicia looked at him with her 'gaze'.

"Oh, alright." he said and walked off slowly towards Vantie's tent.

All was dark in Vanties section of the camp. He had no fire for he didnt stare into the flames as Alicia did. He simply stared into the darkness. Mali was trembling as he walked closer to the tent. Vantie's eyes caught a ray of moonshine for a second and they glinted in the darkness. Mali stopped dead in his tracks and shook.

Vantie sat there in his tent, staring blankly out at Mali, as if not realizing he was there. His eyes once again darted to the group of tents to his left. He saw Alicia pulling her pendant from her pocket. She put it on and held it tightly. Letting it fall she walked off towards Mali where he stood and shook.

When she reacked Mali she put her hands on his shoulders and lightly pushed him to Vantie's tent. A few feet from his camp she let Mali stand as she continued. She sat next to him and spoke quietly.

"I want him to stay with you tonight." she said, giving the third gaze of the night.

"Why?" Vantie asked still staring blankly out into the darkness.

"I need him to understand that you arent as scary as he thinks you are."

Vantie shifted his gaze to her. He just sat there and looked at her, smiling his crooked necrotic smile.

"Don't give me that." she said looking back at him in her own blank stare.

"The kid can stay." he said looking back out to where Mali stood.

"That's what I thought."

Hell yea! PARTY TIME!

Now we go back to the story... Be warned, highly psychological post ahead!

--------------------------------

Dac silently stared at the sky, unable to sleep. Why does he like me more than the others? I mean, he has a mother, he has a father, but everytime he has worries or something else, it's to me he will go to! But why? What do I have more than both Alicia and Vanatiel?

He slowly sat to look deep in the fire. Vanatiel said "Blood Is Power". Could he have also meant... No, forget it Dac. He didn't knew you watched, and besides, he couldn't be-

"Uncle Dac!"

Those words almost made him jump high. Quickly turning around, he saw the small silhouette of Malikai just besides him.

"Mali, what are you doing here? Should you be sleeping with Vantie right now?"

"I know, Uncle Dac. But he scare me! I don't like him!"

"So what? Alicia said something, and you'd be better to respect it! Go back to Vantie, now!"

"But..."

"Please, Mali, don't try my patience! You know how horrible I can be when I'm angry..."

"Okay, then..." And on these words, Malikai left Dac.

But 30 minutes later, he came back, silently, assured that Dac was now asleep. He lied down just next to him, and slowly drifted into dreamland...

*insert dark setting here*

~~ ~~ ~~
The sands of time began to stir once again as the shadows of time took prescence over the world. Skies grew dark as the elements again thrashed in a futile attempt to balance themselves. The searring of Ascalon and the destruction of Orr were not distant pasts, yet the effect these occurences had on the elemental powers were still unknown to the greatest of sorcerers. Tales of malevolent beings stalking the night grew more rampant as the party made another stop along their journey. The few chosen who remained in the world knew little of their prophetic fates, yet they still had potential. The physical affects of the searring covered abroad, yet their potential effects remained ellusive. Little did young Malikai know that his life would soon be changed as the elements seeked balance.

~~ ~~ ~~

Malikai's thoughts flew rampant as he slept next to the figure of Dac. His thoughts led him to his past before the searing. The fields exploded with colors that would soon be a thought of the past.
Voices sprang in from no where, as if shadows began to molest his mind. The skies grew dark with rampaging fury as bolts of energy streaked throughout the horizon. Screams could be heard as eyes panned the massive boulders brought forth from the heavens. Malikai's face grew in horror as he watched his home spark in fire. Smoke loomed overhead and began to cloud the sky. Malikai was running, unknown that these were not his thoughts. Fires sprang from nowhere, life being sacrificed as if it were a misplaced toy.
Malikai screamed as he watched a massive boulder fall to his location. Life flashed before him as Time appeared to stop itself. The world suddenly grew dark as he felt his spirit wisk away. He momentarily found himself falling, or floating? His surroundings were dark with shadow, and he could make out no detail.
A shrill voice loomed in his mind. He could not place it, yet found it soothing as it was his only connection to life. His gaze shifted, yet the abscence of light panicked the young child.
Shol V'ha's gaze turned to the child, slowly picking through his mind. Her power was unmatched in this realm, and the child had no choice but to wait out her wrath.
'Child...' The voice was soft, as if spoken from a mother to a newborn. 'Your potential is great, yet you do not trust yourself.' Shol Vah's voice grew worried as the childd began to resist.
'Do not worry, young child. More will come to you in time, as you must relax your mind...You are not who you appear to be. The elements have formed a bond to you that I have never seen in my watching of this plane. Only in time, child.'

The voice in Malikai's mind faded, and his control over the enviornment grew. The child woke up abruptly, and screamed.

((i will continue with my story))

Gold looked out of his tent at the group of tents a few yards away from him for the tenth time that night. He couldn't help but be worried that he might be indisposed. "No," he told himself. "I am not indisposed, I have a part, I am a warrior, my job is to protect them." He had learned the names of the people he had spoken with, the elementalist was Alicia, the necromancer was Vantiel, he learned. He also learned the Gods that their powers were tied to, but other than that, conversation with them was minimal. Gold went back into his tent and laid down. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!" he yelled, as he felt his sword bite through his skin. "*** **** ****ing crock of ****!!!!!!!" He healed his wound with a quick healing spell, sheathed his sword (I knew i shoulda sheathed it), and fell asleep.

...But not for long.

Dac Vin was busy comforting Mali, who had woke him up when he screamed. "Don't worry Mali, it was just a dream! Nothing can hurt you in a-"

Then he stopped. In himself, he detected an unfriendly presence. He could see them. And they were heading toward the camp, likely going for an easy massacre...

But Dac had another plan in mind.

"STONE SUMMIT!!!!" he screamed, effectively woking everyone up. The scream would not stop the Summit in their attempt at bloodshed, but death will!

Mali woke Dac up with his scream, Dac comforted him and Dac fell asleep instead of Mali. Mali was supposed to be sleeping in his fathers tent, but Mali was scared of him and he didn't want to conquer that fear just yet. Mali lay there thinking on the events of the previous day. He knew he could hurt someone maybe even someone he loved. He didn't wanna take that chance. Mali decided right then that he should run away. He didn't know where he should go though either Kryta or make the hard run to Droknars Forge. He decided after a few minutes to go to Kryta. Mali snuck out of the tent and walked over to the wagon they arrived in, it had two horses Mali took one of them and rode out of town heading for Kryta.

Mali rode down the rode to Kryta, so far with no trouble. He came to an entrance to a cave and rode on in, he hoped he was going the right way. He ran in to a White Mantle Knight in the begining of the cave. "Now just where do you think you are going son?" "I am going to Kryta." "Its a little early for that isn't it?" "No not to me." " You should be able to make it out, before the ettins wake up that is." "When do they wake up?" " In 30 minutes you had best hurry little boy." Mali rode of into the cave hoping he would make it in time.

Mali saw some light at the end of the cave! He began riding even faster and made it out, he was at fork he chose right and rode on to Kryta. Mali arrived in Kryta tired and out of breath, In Lions Arch he found an unoccupied area, tied up his horse and laid down and fell asleep. In the morning Mali decided to look around town. There were so many people around him, it looked like travelers mostly. He decided to check out the arena, he headed to the docks and got on a boat heading for the arena. Mali arrived and decided to try fighting in a battle. He knew the rules of course, the team with the most kills at the end wins. The battle started and he saw his teamates fighting the enemy they of course were in one group. Mali thought meteor shower would do some damage. He concentrated on the spel so well he killed about 2 of the enemy, His teammates turned and smiled at him and they continued fighting. Mali and his teammates won the battle. He did talk to his teammates afterwards, Mali told them his story about his journey here and he didn't have any money. Each of his teammates gave him 3k in gold!! Mali now had 9k, he thought (since he was an elmentalist) he should buy armor and weapons. He did and boy were they cool!! Mali decided that he would never leave this town and everyday he would go to the arena and fight, that was his training and his home from now on(if his parents didn't come looking for him of course). Mali went back to his hiding place and fell asleep.

Meanwhile back in Beacons Perch, Mali's mom kept screaming Mali's name over and over again waking everyone up." What in the world is going on here?" Vantie(Mali's father) asked. "Mali is gone, I can't find him and he was supposed to be with you!!!" "Calm down Alicia, Mali came back in to my tent and I could have sworn he was asleep." Dac said A town guard ran over to the camp wondering what was the matter. "Our son is gone he was here last night now he is gone." "I saw him last night riding out towards Lions Arch on a horse." the guard said. Alicia sent the guard away and ran to her tent crying, no one followed her. Alicia could only hope that Mali was alright.

Err Link, that didn't make any sense.

1. Mali is WAY TOO YOUNG to ride an horse. Geez, he's only like, 3-4 years old now!

2. The road to Lion's Arch take a WHOLE DAY, as I said on another post. There's no way Mali woulda done it in less than 30 minutes!

3. A guard not being suspicious about a little kid alone...

4. More, and more, and more, and more... I think I'm goint to continue where I left off and completly ignore your post! None of it made sense at all...

Link... I'm confuseded...but Mali running away can be beneficial to the story. I think that you tried to hustle into things and randomly shot out thoughts to what he did. I just don't think that it flows well, but that's just my oppinion.
Oh well, will post something later tonight if we can get more to contribute to story.

I think the main problem is that he didn't take in consideration that Mali is a 3-4 years old kid, and thus UNABLE to do nearly all the things he mentioned in his story! Cmon, letting a kid fight in the arenas? NONSENSE! Not to say that the camp was UNDER ATTACK, but he said nothing about that...

Anyway, I,ll try to continue the story, and take Mali's dissapearance into consideration....

---------------

The Summit came down on the camp mere moments after Dac's shout. Even with the Gods on their side, they were sleepy, outnumbered, and caught by surprise. An easy prey for the xenophobic dwarves.

The skirmish only dured a few minutes, after which, the Summit strangely retreated in the darkness of the surrounding mountains. Whether it was because many of them died (The blood-red snow was a good example of this) or because they have found what they searched for, Dac didn't know. Neither did the group...

"Oh damn, they didn't miss her..."

Dac, Skry and Omega were standing near the now unconscious Alicia, who had been struck by one poisonous arrow fired by a Summit ranger. "Fortunately the arrow didn't touch any vital organs, and the poison is too weak to kill if it don't touch any of them. She will survive, don't worry about that."

"That's nice to know, Dac" Omega replied to him.

"Hey guys!" Sanjinu ran over to where Dac and friends stood. His voice had a clear panicked sound. "Guys, bad news. Vanatiel and Malikai mysteriously dissapeared!"

"WHAT?"

Dac could not think. It was true that he lost sight of Mali in the skirmish, but there could be no way that the Summit captured him! If so, they would have been burned down by his anger... But Vanatiel? Either HE had been captured, or he ran with Mali... But why?

OOC: I'm sorry for this unexpected plot twist. So now Alicia is wounded, and BOTH Mali and Vantie dissapeared. Don't worry, you can work your way out if you want to

As for me, well... Vantie's post about how I looked almost like a father to Mali gave me some ideas xD

Death.
Death surrouned the encampment like a deleterious plague. The scent of recently spilled blood flooded the nostrils of those involved. This was no random encounter, as the stone summit did not partake in random razings.
~...you have to leave, now. The scent of death here still remains strong.~
The voice came from nowhere, yet it rang clearly in all their minds. It was a smooth tone, like black velvet against open skin. The few who stood around the body of Alicia drew their weapons close again, scanning for the source of the sound. They could see nothing but blood and foliage. Somehow the dwarves had retreated with all their brethren.

~Hear my thoughts, humans, as you must know the truth. The world is changing. Not just from the advances of the Charr, but from an age old prophecy that they helped accelerate. Now, where is the child known as Malikai?~

The group eyed the encampment, looking for both the child and the origin of the voice, yet they could not perceive anything.

~...this does not bode well.~
The figure of Shol V'ha slowly made its way in front of the adventurers. Her coat was slicked back over her shoulders, black as the deepest reaches of space. Her face was hidden by the lack of light, shaded again by the thickness of her fur. She moved elegantly, poising herself in front of the party. Her mouth did not move, yet her thoughts flooded the minds of those in her focus.
~We must find this child, humans~
Her gaze shifted to the body of Alicia, who still laid on the ground.
~This is most unfortunate, let her regain strength, and we will move out at first light. This child must be found...~

The party glanced around in apprehension, unsure of their new-found companion. No one spoke a word as they tried to comprehend the voices that the figure in front of them presented.
The shadows flared as a crisp wind struck the encampment, blinding the few who failed to shield their eyes. The wind lasted no more than a second, yet it was long enough. The figure of Shol V'ah had vanished, without a warning, without a goodbye.

Hours later, Alicia rose, unaware of what happenings occured earlier that night. Those who were with her looked at her gently, and slowly began to tell her what had happened by the end of the encounter...
