Skry set to work tending the poison that Alicia had been infected with. It was a simple one, he already had a vial of antidote in a pocket in his cloak. He had administered it to Alicia without much trouble.
"The effects of the poison should wear off shortly. The Stone Summit are not so good with poisons as they are spellcasters. We need to check the supplies, and tend anybody else that was wounded." Skry said, his veteran instincts coming back.
"If they strike again, there will be more, you need to press on quickly. I am going to find Vantiel and Malikai." And without another word, he vanished into the morning haze.

Dac Vin
Dac silently stared in the now almost extinguished fire. "We have to go forward. We must continue, in hope that Vantie and Mali will find us..."
"WHAT?" Sanji's reaction was almost instant. "That's crazy! You just want to abandon them in these mountains, at the mercy of the Summit, ettins and the centaurs?"
"Not exactly." "Dac shifted his stare at Sanji. "The shadows are watching, and they will protect them. They will come back to us in due time..."
"in due time, it's ALWAYS in due time! You know what Dac? I swear you will get us all dead in due time! Don't you realize that?"
Omega joined the conversation. " Dac is right, Sanji. We don't know WHERE they are, and WHAT happened to them. As he said, the shadows are watching them..."
"Arrrgh, I guess we must continue, then. But I warn you Dac, if EVER you are wrong, I'll be happy to slit your throat in your sleep, is that clear?"
"Go ahead and try." And on these words, Dac marched toward the caravan. "Omega, you get the driver seat. Me, Sanji and Alicia (Dac glanced at the now semi-conscious mother) will get in the back and rest a bit. Good?"
"Good!"
Fifteen minutes later, the team was on the road again, unaware of the future they had. And Dac Vin had no idea of what would be revealed to him...
----
"MOMMY!!"
The cry echoed through Dac's mind. Everything else was a blur, but this voice seemed so familiar...
"Don't worry Dac, mommy is coming. She will not let you die..."
What do you mean? What's going on in there?
Then he suddently woke up. The sun was still low, but increasingly rising.
Phew, that was just a dream. Dac felt relieved. But still, it seemed SO real, like it happened to me before...
And that voice, I swear I heard it somewhere. I swear someone, HERE, got a similar voice....
It's probably just me. Or maybe it's not. First, Mali's strange behavior, then this dream...
No forget it Dac, it's simply NOT possible! There is like a chance over a million it's what you think... But as unlikely as it sound, it seems more and more like you've hit that chance over a million...

Alicia, now having rested, was able to see straight again. Everything was as it should've been. Except for the fact that they were on the road. And Vantie and her baby were missing.
"DAC!" she scramed when she had noticed these faults. She knew it was his doing, for he always was that way, constantly telling everyone everything would come together 'in due time'.
Dac came at the sound of his named and asked her wht was wrong.
"You! How could you!? He's just a baby! How could you leave him back there like that!? He doesnt know how most of his spells work! How is he supposed to defend himself!?"
"What? What are you talking about?"
"Don't go with the 'I don't know' defence. You know what im talking about!" with these words she raised her want to Dac's face. "My wand would be happy in joining Omega's sword on your throat, Dac Vin. There is no doubt in that."
The flame that was dorment inside the twisted prongs of her wand grew and blazed with her anger, searing Dac's face.
"That is just a taste of what you'd go through if my baby doesnt come back to me." Alicia said, unwillingly lowering her wand from his face.
She knew he had intentionally done that. Leaving Mali behind was just another reason for her to loathe him. She knew of the rest. The Shadow. Skry. And even the out-of-body spying he had done back home. All of them were pawns in his game. He knew what would happen once he got them where he wanted them. He knew the price he might have to pay.
But he wasnt counting on Malikai. The child had ruined his plans. He had to get rid of him somehow. Giving him that dream was the only way. Then sendig Vanatiel after him would get rid of two. He knew the Summit would come. He knew neither of who Alicia loved most would be there to aid her. He knew her rage would grow, pushing her further into loathing and farther and farther from the origonal light of his presence.
Dac was not who he said he was. Not at all. A merciless, uncaring being. Thats all he was. Making alliances with the Summit and the Mantle only helped him. That's all he cared about. He wished the Children of the Gods to not exist. For he wished to take all of the power, for himself.

Dac Vin
----
"MOMMY!"
Oh damn, not that dream again... Cmon Dac, wake yourself up!. But he could not, weakened by the events of yesterday. If it wasn't for Omega, he would be left alone, on a treacherous road in the Shiverpeaks. If he didn't persuade Alicia to decide of his fate tomorrow, everything would have been lost...
"Don't worry Dac, mommy is coming, she will not let you die!"
But Dac, now, just wanted to die. They had found who he really was: someone who just didn't care, who could do anything to attain his goal. But his goal was the same as the others; exterminate the charr. He simply had different means, a way that didn't go well with the others...
Dac heard the sounds of footsteps coming nearer and nearer, then it stopped. A feminine voice broke the silence shortly after: "Oh... My... NO!!!"
Sad but true, I am a manipulator, my dear... But the wasn't listened to. Then the voice cried: "No, please, Grenth, do not take Damian aw-"
Damian? She really called me Damian? I'm not Damian, I'm Dac Vin! Who are you to give me another name?
That was enough to wake Dac up once more.
The night was darker than the others, and more dangerous than ever. But Dac knew what he had to do: Leave them. Spit on the prophecy, and make sure that everyone, him included, would die in the end.
Just because no one would trust him anymore.
There will be no one to stop Sanjinu's murderous ambitions. Let that be a lesson to all of you! Then he cut himself, and used the blood to write on a piece of paper:
BLOOD IS NO LONGER POWER ANYMORE
Then he jumped out, and ran the farthest he could, then out of force, he cried:
"Damn you! Damn you and your stupid prophecy! Let the charr kill us all, we are no longer worthy to your eyes! Find another group, one without me, one that will go better than us!" Dac's fury was without bounds, he knew he will be heard, he knew he had the power to kill...
"Now just kill me off! I'm sick of this story, I'm sick of them all, I'm sick of always playing the manipulator! KILL ME, OR I-"
"Uncle Dac!" The scream froze Dac straight in his talk. Looking around nervously, he found Malikai, just behind him, with a smile. But Dac had another thing in mind. He had to kill.
But just as he was about to throw his knife at the defenseless Mali, another voice rose of the shadows. This one, it was *the* shadow...
"Quite powerful indeed can be the hatred of a man..."
"Just leave me alone, you don't know what it is to be me..."
"But I do, I do know." The voice took a slighly amused tone. "I know all about you, I know all about them. I knew that you were a ruthless manipulator, and I know all that you forgot long ago..."
"Stop talking nonsense!"
"It's not nonsense! I mean, you want to kill Malikai, right?"
"Not at all..."
"Don't lie Dac, I know it. In fact, I doubt you will even kill him..."
"Who are you to say that? What make you think I will not kill Mali?"
"This kid loves you, Dac." The voice shifted once again to a serious tone. "I pity that you have never felt love, because you would not even thought of killing if you did..."
"This is nonsense! Nobody love me! Nobody trust me. I'm way too corrupted to be-"
"Not true." Once again, the voice went amused. "Malikai love you more than BOTH his father AND his mother. And yet, you are nothing but a stranger, don't you find it strange?"
"...Yea..."
"I would tell you the truth already, but your time has not come yet. When you will meet Vanatiel tomorrow, you will learn all you have to know about you..."
"Because YOU told him?
"Exactly. I told him who you really are, and what pushed you to throw him in the mountains..."
"He must hate me to death now that he know!"
"He HATED you before I told him. But now he think you have done the right thing in that situation..."
"LIES!"
"But it's the truth, I swear it! Stop thinking you're nothing but a reject of the civilization, because you are not!" The voice now took a slightly annoyed tone.
This time, Dac knew nothing to say. He had both Vanatiel and Malikai on his side, and nothing in the world would make them change opinion, not even Alicia's gaze. Skry and Omega still trusted him, but that could change any moment. And on the other side, Alicia and Sanjinu.
"You know what will happen if you don't do a thing, Dac," the voice replied. "You were the only thing that kept Sanjinu from acting, and now that you are gone, he will make sure to kill everyone else, to keep the prophecy from being fulfilled. You won't allow him to kill Alicia, right?"
"Well, now I'm not so sure anymore..."
"Don't lie, Dac. Tomorrow, you will meet Skry and Vanatiel, and intercept the caravan as it will go right in a Summit ambush you have witnessed in your spying. But I will reveal this: the ambush is Sanji's fault. While you gathered information, led the Summit in wrong places and leave them to die when you are done, Sanji coordinated the attack on Beacon's Perch, and coordinate the one that will happen tomorrow." Dac's anger came back. So Sanjinu manipulated Alicia into thinking it was all his fault? He had to pay for this!
"Hadn't it been for you and me, you would have been dead as we speak now. But I gave a dream to Mali, who woke you up, who warned the whole crew of the attack. But for the next one, there is no one to warn then. Their blood will shed on the snow, unless you do something..."
"But what can I do?"
"Just rest. I will make sure that you, Mali and the others are safe. Tomorrow will be the day you will prove your worth to the Gods, like Vanatiel has proven his when he saved Alicia that day..."
And then the shadow began to fade away, but before it completly dissipated, Dac heard his last words:
"This time, let the dream complete itself. It will reveal you much..."
"Uncle Dac!" Dac had completly forgotten Malikai, who had listened to the whole conversation, and he was now hugging him real hard. "I will never leave you again. I wish you could be my father..."
"I wish I was, too" Dac replied. Now come, Mali, let's sleep near that tree. Tomorrow will be the biggest day in our life..."
And thus both Dac and Mali entered dreamland once again. But while the kid's one were pleasant, Dac's had a revelation to them...

"MOMMY!"
And here we go again...
"Don't worry Dac, mommy is coming, she will not let you die!"
I wont, don't worry about it. Come on, please end this fast...
Then he heard the footsteps, and the scream: "Oh... My... NO!!! No, please, Grenth, do not take Damian away! He's too young to die!"
So my name is Damian? Interesting... He could not deny it anymore. The dream spoke truth, and all he could do is listen...
"It won't work. No prayers can reverse what's going on now. But there is another way to bring him back. My son, I will now demonstrate to you a family ritual that has the power to bring the health back to desperate cases, at the expense of power. Let you learn it, it will be useful one day...
Then the ritual began. Even if he could not see it, each part of the ritual became printed in his mind like magic. Was it holy? Was it unholy? he couldn't tell...
"Now wait and see, my son..."
Everything cleared up. "He's alive, he's alive!" Then he saw who were those persons. A woman, and a kid who was looking at him...
Then it shocked him. That face, he knew him!
----
Then he finally woke up, now that all he had to know was revealed. The sun was low but rising, and to his surprise, Malikai was awake, near a figure Dac instantly recognized as Skry.
"Come with me, Dac. Vanatiel is waiting for us near the frozen waterfall..."
So he followed him there.
"We don't have much time left" said Vantie when they got there. "So let's move on, FAST!"
OOC: Phew, it was a long post. But just wait Alicia, you won't get me evil like this I'm never evil, JUST MISUNDERSTOOD!
Oh yeah, MAJOR plot twist coming. Some of you might know what it is though I don't feel bad though, We knew who was the Lich after Thunderhead

Alicia did not sleep well that night. Dreams of Malikai and Vanatiel flooded her mind. She wished them to be gone, but could not shake them.
Many times she woke crying that night, and many times she cried herself to sleep, not knowing what had befallen Vantie and Mali.
The dawn broke clear and bright. She was quick not to waste time. Gathering the things she needed most, she jumped from the wagon and set out on her way. The map had imprinted itself in her mind. She knew where they would be.
Along the way there were many kills and bloodstained snow marked her path. She had to keep moving.
The Shadow greeted her once along the way. speaking to her the things she needed to know.
"They do not know you are coming." the shadow told her, "I have told only Vanatiel. He trusts the rest not well enough to tell them."
"At least I have one person on my side." She pulled a piece of tattered parchment from her bag. 'Blood is no longer power'. She mocked this sentence. She knew that Vantie would not believe it either, for those were the words he had used so many years ago.
"They will have moved since the map." The shadow continued, "The one you trust will have left markers for you. They may not seem like much at first, but you will get an eye for them. Watch closely now, for they approach."
The snow sparkled pink in the high morning sun. The shadow was right, they were not much, but they were enough for her to know it was him. The first she picked up and removed the now bare chain from her neck, and threaded it through. She followed the trail and saw the next token, and again removed her chain. She continued on this way, following the markers her trusted had left behind. She reached the gate to a city and there removed her chain for the last time.
The tokens followed one another in such a complicated sequence that it took long for her to decipher it.
She read what she had written on the parchment she had:
'Many days have come and gone since I have last seen you. Follow the pass through the rest of the Shiverpeaks. Stop at every town. I have left something in each for you. Find them in some of our favorite places, they will tell you where to go next. I hope to see you when you reach Ascalon.'
She looked up at the sign on the side of the wall. Ice Tooth Cave it read. They had spent many a day in that town. She knew where the first would be.
She entered the small cave and looked around at the people that were there, being taught skills and talking amongst one another. She did not care about that. She went to the back of the cave where no one ever stood to talk and sat in the middle of the little opening.
Light filtered from the hole above, hitting just before her knees. She quickly read the runes that had been carved there and had then been frozen over again. The light bouced out from the hollows the carvings created in the ice. Quickly she ran for the door of the cave, flipping a gold coin behind her, it landing in a snow drift.
She ran along the path, exterminating every being in her way. She did not wish to be slowed, but these creatures were more hostile than some.
She ran through the Mines and through the Vale and Summit reaching the Bend not a moment too soon. She ran to the fire that was lit in the center of the small town and stared into the flames. The wind blew them to the east. She continued on her trail.
Through the rest of the Shiverpeaks she tore, not stopping for friend or foe. She had to get to the next town.
The henchmen of Grendich Courthouse stood before the wall the next clue was written on. The blood of many Charr scouts stained her boots and the ends of her skirt.
The Academy was her next stop. In the maze of hallways that led off from the obelisks that held the door was her next token. A symol carved into the northernmost wall.
This symbol led her to Piken Square. She walked into the lonely cemetary above the rst of the buzzing town. There she found instructions to continue to the Wall that held back the Charr.
From here she continued to The Sanitarium. And from there to Ascalon City.
She quickly bypassed all the merchants and people yelling about what they were selling and buying. She knew where the last marker would be. Symon wished to speak to her but she ignored him. She stood asnt stared into the eyes of the painting of Grenth. The Shadow once again appeared.
"You have come far, Alicia. But sleep for now. He will still be waiting when you wake in the morn."
With these words she lay beside the wall Grenth had been painted on. She woke in the morning to the hustle and bustle of the city once again.
She sat in the corner, half hidden by the shadow and waited. He would come, for he knew her better than most. She was sure of it...

She was sure of it...

um srry if i mess up anyones post up or anything i am just writing so here goes.
Mali walked away from Vantie, Dac and Skry, he was too young to be in their conversation. He couldn't wait to see his mom after all this. He saw omega running towards the group behind him. "Vantie, Dac, Skry Omega said breathing heavily. Mali thought it was urgent so he snuck over there withouth anyone seeing him. Alicia has run off, I think towards Ascalon City." "Mom in ascalon?" Mail said. "Oh great the runt knows." said Vantie Dac, Skry, Omega and Vantie began walking towards the caraven. "We will go find her." "I guees we are all going, right??" "Not you Mali!!!!" "She's my mom i am going!" "NO YOUR NOT!" Mali couldn't take it anymore, his anger boiling in his body he threw a fireball at Vantie. Vantie fell to the ground and the smel of singed clothing filled the air. Vantie got up and dove at Mali, Omega moved him away just in time. Mali was about to cast another spell when... he heard a bow being loaded on an arrow. "Mali, I really don't want to do this, but stop right now or i will shoot an interrupting shot." It was Dac Vin. It was all Mali could take, he let out a loud scream and cast meteor shower on the group, and ran off.
Mali ran to his mom's tent and found her footprints leaving Beacons Perch going to Ascalon city. Mali knew he couldn't make the trip himself, so he stowed away aboard a caravan heading to Ascalon City.
Back at camp Dac Vin was the first to get up, then he did help Vantie, Omega and Skry get up and told them about Mali. They knew Mali couldn't make the trip, so he must be hiding somewhere in town.......

Let us all say our good byes and farewells to our friend, Ownage. He shall not be returning for a year (stupid private school!) so we wont be seeing him for quite some time.
I'm sure we'll all miss one of the best writers on this thread. Possibly myself the most.
Good bye and good luck to you.

Oh well, good luck to him! Now to continue what I started... xD Oh yea Alicia, if you don't mind, i'll try to end the hatred here
----------
...Dac and his friends had no trouble finding Mali on the way to Ascalon, thanks to Dac's infamous spying abilities. Then the group continued his journey, to stop at the gates of the "great" city. Here, the "Shadow" was waiting...
"Alicia and the others are here" he said. "You know what you have to do..."
And on these words, he dissapeared.
"Follow me, Dac" Vanatiel said. And so Dac followed him up to where the paintings of the Gods were.
"Wait for me here" he said. "I need to talk to Alicia..."
Then he left, and Dac silently sat down. Keeping himself from spying on Alicia's conversation. He had to. He promised Vanatiel he would not let his curiosity interfere like last time...
What they were talking about? Dac didn't know. Was it good, was it bad, he didn't know either. The waiting dured a whole hour, in which Dac was constantly worried Vantie would turn on him..
And then, Dac felt something staring at him. Then he heard:
"Just promise me you will never use your powers in a way to cause pain, sorrow and distrust on anyone that is a friend of you, even if you don't mean it." Dac easily recognized Alicia's voice, but deep in his trance, the voice had something "godly" on it. Like a god said it instead...
"I promise I will never do that again" he said. Then he fell back in his trance...
When he woke up, the first thing he saw that the paper he wrote "Blood is no longer Power" on it. But there was something else written on it. Dac took the paper, turned it, and read:
"Vantie told me everything I had to know. But first, let me apologize for throwing all those accusations of alliances with the worst thing on Tyria and of you wanting all the power to yourself. This wasn't true at all, but I had to say something to vent off my pain of losing Malikai that day...
...But I had to do it. I know you did it so that both Vantie, Mali and us would be safe, but you just didn't care about how we would feel. You were just emotionless about those things, you would only care if someone was hurt outside, never inside. I had to find a way to make you rethink your ways, because if you continued like this, you would spell the end of us...
...And I suceeded. I hit you hard enough for you to think "What hav I done wrong?", and leave to meditate on your fate. I arranged myself with the one we call "Shadow" to keep an eye on you, and make sure you would not go bck to your habitudes. I knew you would come with Vantie here, now all I needed to know was if you would spy or not on us...
...You didn't. I knew you were not far away, but I never felt your spirit listening. It was there sometimes, but always deaf. And when me and Vantie were done, all I needed to know was if, yes or no, you understood...
...And you did. You are not a monster, Dac. I knew you would know sooner or later. And we need you to continue the quest, to fight all those charr back to where they came...
Our caravan is at the gates. Meet us there when you are ready...
Alicia Stormcrow
PS: I know all about the "secret"..."
Dac carefully folded the paper and put it in one of his pocket. Then, he slowly glanced one last time at the paintings.
So that was the test. This is what I had to do to be worthy, to control my powers...
Silently, he marched toward the caravan, where the rest of his friends were waiting. Renewed, he climbed on, glanced toward Alicia, and said "Let's go! The charrs are waiting!"
OOC: Yes, I know I trashed all hopes of an upcoming war in less than 2 posts. But honestly, I inspired myself of a real life even that happened like it, yet ended the same day like the Alicia/Dac Vin war ended here...
Sanjinu Dalsworth
(Wow this got hard to follow but at least I sorted somethings out and can come back here like before. Dac good job on keeping up my character except you forgot I am insane due to the power of the gods and losing Alicia. Hope I am right and did not mess up cuz this was little hard to follow)
Sanjinu could not believe all the things that had happened. We must make our move! No I trust them. They don’t trust you! Why does Dac hold you back? Why Would he? He is hiding something but what? I will kill them all. No...we will kill them all. No I cant! However I can! I wont let you!
"Sanjinu" Dac’s voice broke his thoughts. "Your turn driving." He moved up. After he thought Dac was asleep he returned to his thoughts. Who knows maybe he can read minds. The Shadow appeared. He started talking to him.. or did he? He could hear no sound from him. He is the one in my mind! What can I do to stop him? He is controlling our adventure. He moves us where he wants. His anger began to raise but he had to keep his mind off killing him or he will read it in his mind. We must kill them. They hate you. they want to kill you, the Shadow spoke to his mind. Then he put another thought.. no burned another thought to his mind so he can never forget. Anger is the strongest form of power. A weird thought but as the night went on it became more clear. Whenever he got angry the shadow would take control. The Shadow wants to kill the others so I cant get angry or else. I must block him from my mind. He is too strong.
"Sanjinu!" The others spoke. "What are you doing? It is morning. You got no sleep! Are you listening?" Sanjinu was in too deep of a trance to break free. Anger is the strongest form of power. He began to speak without knowing it.
"Anger is the strongest form of power!" Sanjinu nearly screamed. Then he turned around. "Dac I need to talk with you. You’re the only one I can trust......"

That night passed with little talk. Alicia was more busy thinking over the events of the last few days and holding Vantie. He stroked her silver hair and let her sleep. He too was inking over the last few days.
'I am thankful for that Shadow.' he thought. 'Without it I wouldn't have known she was coming. Those signs were surely a good idea. I'm just glad Alicia remembered all our old places.'
'You knew I would.' Alicia's thought's invaded his mind. 'The most solitary places in all the towns. I remember.'
'What? How?'
'I took a page out of Dac's book, I didnt take it quite as far though. Looks like you can, too.'
'I can what?'
'You're talking to me right?'
'Yes.'
'Thats called telepathy. It means we can feel other's emotions and hear their thoughts. That would be another thing the Gods have given us.'
'That would be correct Alicia, my sweet child.'
'Ah, it's nice to speak with you again Grenth.'
'Yes. This power can only be shared amongst you two.' He said 'I only have you as my children, therefore can only imprint the power of the Necromancer into you. This is a shortcut way to the touching of a scar. Use it wisely, my children, It will help in the upcoming events.'
With this the voice of Grenth faded from their minds.
Alicia felt Dac's spirit's prensence. He was close. Too close. She opened her eyes and stared blankly at the spot the energy was coming from, then bat at it with her hand, as a kitten with a ball of string.
"OW!" Dac yelled.
Alicia laughed to herself and Vantie laughed along with her. This energy tracing was yet another perk to being a Chosen One...

"That wasn't funny!" said Dac with a small smile. After all, he wasn't even spying on them; just passing near was enough to trigger a spiritual reaction...
Dac quickly passed them to avoid another slap and quickly resumed his job. Which was: Help Malikai with his elementalist training. Or more precisely, show him the power of Earth and Water...

What sounded like the muffled clink of glass against glass came to Alicia's ears. She sat up and pushed back a lock of hair that had fallen in front of her eyes. She saw what seemed to be someone hurriedly packing vials of things into a bag. The new dawn only gave enough light for an outline of the person against the pale sky.
She looked around. Everyone seemed to be in their proper place. To her right Sanjinu was snoring, the pillow she had placed over his head still there. Omega was lying across the drivers seat of the wagon. Dac was somewhere in front of her, for she could see Mali once again laying on his chest. The one person that was nowhere to be seen, was Vantie.
She ran her hand back through her silver hair and got up, yawning and rubbing her eyes. She picked up the blanket she had slept under and wrapped it around her, the night's chill still clinging to the air.
Vantie had by this time, gotten all his vials into his bag. Things with names such as Deathly Swarm and Putrid Explosion. Also, packed away in other bags, were marks, wells and signets. These were such as Mark of Pain, Well of Blood, and the elite skill known only as the Plauge Signet.
She knew what he was going to do. And she had every intention of stopping him.
She too started gathering things. Mainly fire magic skills that were kept away in the deepest parts of her mind were now rushing forth. Incendecary Bonds was first to come. This would surely disable the army, for this fire had no end to the victims on it's list, it simply spread until it could spread no more. Throwing on more fire power with Immolate and multiple Flares could take out one beast in a matter of seconds. Top that with both Fire Storm and Meteor Shower and those Charr would be falling three and four at a time.
The Geomancer's part of her training also set forth in her mind. Earthquake and Aftershock are a great pair, along with Grasping Earth, those nasty things wouldnt be able to get away from her Meteor Shower. Also bringing along some Wards would be a good idea. Ward Angainst both Foes and Melee would slow those beasts down a bit. Throwing some armor into the mix with Kinetic Armor and Armor of Earth would work great.
She came back to the present not a moment too soon. Vantie was leaving. She grabbed the bag packed with all her spells and such and ran off after him.
He was not going alone.
She caught up to him and grabbed his shoulder. He looked at her, regret growing in his hazel eyes.
"I thought you might like some company." she said, not taking note of the look he was giving her.
"No." he said, "I'm leaving. For good."
"Why?" Alicia said, a slight pain had again caught her chest.
"Everyone here doesn't know who I am. Me. They can't seem to get past the fact that I am a Necromancer. You've seen Sanjinu. He loves you, and he hates me for loving you too. In fact, I believe he even hates you for loving me. Omega doesen't ever seem like his usual laughing and joyus self when I'm around. Skry could care a whole lot less than what he does. Dac is too busy playing with Mali to care. Mali, my own son, is scared to death of me. I can't stay."
"But what about me?" she asked, tears welling in her eyes. "I care. I know they don't see you for who you really are, but that's just because they're too shallow to get past the looks and the reputation of Necromancer's. I don't want you to go."
"I must. These people don't and WON'T see me for who I am. They could care less if I live or die. I'll give you a chance to change my mind. Give me five good reasons not to leave."
"You can't go. For my sake. Before you came back the only thing that kept me from doing something horrible to myself was the fact that I knew someone cared. Sanjinu was the one person who was my friend. That's the only reason I'm here today. When I left that night to go find the fallen man in the forest I was alone. He wasn't thinking of me and how I'd do out there by myself. That same pain that was inside me then, is inside me now, wanting to just take over. But I know you care, that's what's surpressing it. Before anyone cared I would just start to freak out and on occasions, cry for no reason whatsoever. But then there was you. YOU are what held that back for so long. If you leave, I might just go find a cliff to jump off of or some other thing like that. The only reason I haven't is because I know you care. And because I- I look at you and I'm home, an- and I know someone cares that I'm here. And I dont want that to go away." she managed to choke out between sobs and bursts of tears.
She dropped her bag and fell to her knees, still crying. Vantie also dropped his bag. He reached down and pulled Alicia to her feet. She continued to cry and she fell against him. He hugged her and shushed her, patting her head and gently rocking her back and forth.
The dawn had now broken into daylight and the others were up. Vantie looked over at the camp. Everyone was bustling around, picking things up from he night before. They seemed not to notice that both he and Alicia were gone, wich was surprising to him, as she usually made breakfast. He liked that they weren't on guard this morninig.
Alicia had stopped crying and was now just letting him hug her, not caring that the others were up and most likely gawking from camp. Vantie, unfortunately, had noticed this.
"Come on." he said, "Get your stuff."
She looked at him with that odd cross between confused and understanding.
"We're leaving." he said and smiled that crooked Necrotic smile...
Oh, and to those of you who care, big twist coming...

Another short post for me. I will update with a longer one later...
----------
"Forgive me, Damian..." That message had been printed in Dac's mind ever since he woke up. And when he realized both Vanatiel's and Alicia's dissapearance, he had no doubt from the meaning of that phrase...
The only two persons that weren't affected by the sudden leaving was Omega and Skry. Sanjinu and Malikai had lost Alicia, and he had lost Vantie. The moral was at his lowest...
"We continue, Dac?". That was Sanjinu.
"Yes we do" Dac said. "They will realize their mistake in du-"
Dac suddently stopped. Don't say those words again, Damian! he thought...
"...I mean, I HOPE they will come back..."

"Hope, humans?" The voice rang clearly in all of their minds. It was the unmistakable droning of the shadow that clinged with their every step. This time, however, the voice appeared to be provoking, as if tempting a fight. "Hope still lies as your greatest strength, and, your greatest weakness. Chose when to hope, and when to act, humans, for this is my final warning."
"You feign to know nothing of your fates, you hide from them, ignoring them, fools! You sit here with hope, praying to your long abandoned gods who care nothing of your trivial lives; hoping that everything will fade away in 'due time'."
The shadow's voice throbbed with violence at this point, thrashing out with no remorse to those caught in its gaze.
Dac's face narrowed, starring down what he could not see. "And you claim to know of our fates, being?!? What have you done with us but interfere and set our fates to your bidding?" Dac's figure retorted in anger, wildly throbbing with useless strength.
...the shadow's voice did not return, yet, the party knew what it was trying to tell them.

Dac Vin
Who are they to tell me what to do...
It was no longer hope that Dac had for Vanatiel and Alicia. The shadow had done it's effect, though not in the way she would have expected it...
"So be it" he said. "I swore not to do this again, but now I don't have the choice..."
"WHAT? You mean, spy on them like before?"
"Yes." He then sat down and started his familiar ritual. "I'm going to find them, then hunt them down!" Then his soul left his body. A few minutes passed before Dac came back.
"Hop in the caravan right now, we're going" he said. "We don't have much time..."

Dac continued to trace their path through the wilds of Ascalon, Alicia felt it. She put a hand out to stop Vanatiel from going any further. The energy was following them. Slowly she turned around and gazed at the spot, just as she had done before. Again she reached her hand out, but this time not to slap the energy, but to capture it. She closed a hand around the energy and spoke to it harsh words.
"It is impolite of you to spy on us, Dac." she spoke to the energy, "You promised you wouldn't do this again, and you broke your word. Now you must pay the price."
With this she once again withdew her wand, and the dorment flame once again singed Dac, although much more severely than before. But it didn't end here. She removed a glass vial from her pocket. The glass was infused with a black dye, making it as dark as a midnight sky. This she filled with the poisoned water Vantie had kept from the bogs they had passed through on their way to the Shiverpeaks. And lastly she forced the energy that was Dac's spirit into the vial, corking it once she succeded.
"And there you shall stay until I find a place to break this vial." She said putting the spirit-proof vial in her pocket.
The poison slowly ate away at the captured energy, Dac not being able to draw it back for it was both corked and black.
For about three quarters of an hour they traveled, Dac not seeing, nor hearing anything they passed, or any word they spoke. The vial was finally smashed, being dropped from one of the many jagged cliffs onto a rock that broke the surface of the bubbling tar...

Dac Vin
Finally freed from his cold prison, Dac looked around. But, alas, he could not recognize where he was. Nothing, excepted for both Alicia and Vanatiel, laughing atop the cliff.
But somehow, Dac was laughing, silently. Without knowing it, Alicia had done what he always tried to do, but always failed. Alicia had effectively cut the ties that held Dac Vin to his mortal body.
And by the same, Alicia had just "killed" Dac Vin. Now all that remained was his soul, a restless being...
Remember the druids of the Maguuma...
...And finally one with nature.
"Hahahahaha..." He continued his laughter as he floated up the cliff, to meet his "friends". "Thank you, Alicia! Thanks for freeing me!" Then he reached the top.
But now Alicia wasn't laughing anymore. She reached for another vial, but before she could grab it, she felt Dac's "hand" on her throat, slowly choking her...
"You could fall at any moment, you know. How about we celebrate my freedom down there?"
And on these words, with the new found power of earth and ether, he slowly dragged Alicia near the edge...
"...Dac, no! Please... NOOO!!!!" Without hesitation, he sent Alicia flying down the tar pit, her scream cut short by the blurp of her body being eaten by the tar. Dac waited a few second, just to see her come back to the surface, gasping for air then falling down, over and over.
"Damian..." Vanatiel said, calling Dac by his real name.
"You know what pushed me to break my promise, Vantie. You cannot escape fate, and you know that well. Yet you chose to do it..."
"But..."
"Grenth is very proud of you, coward! now excuse me, but I must leave you to get back to my body. You see, I still like that mortal coil, but now it's for possession." Dac turned his "back" on Vanatiel. "Have fun! Oh yeah, don't forget to save Alicia before she drown down there!"
And then he "ran off", the power of earth now guiding him toward his "corpse"...

"Mark my words Dac Vin," Vanatiel said, glaring back at the energy, "I shall have your head for this!"
He turned his back on the spirit, knowing both that it would not survive the trip back to its body, and that Alicia had to be saved. Upon thinking this he dove off the cliff, having no care in his own safety. He managed to pull her out, just before her hand slipped under the thick, bubbling tar.
By this time she was nearly unconcious, the black tar pulling her down and not letting go. And it was still pulling on her, as it stuck to every inch of her armor, and in her hair.
Slowly she regained her normal breathing rate as the tar somehow slipped off where it had stuck itself in her hair.
As she managed to get her eyes open she looked around. Her boots and gloves were sitting a little off to her left side, the tar succesfully cleaned out of and off of them. Her vest was lying under them, that also being sucessfully cleaned. And she herself was being supported by Vantie's knees. She felt something warm slowly running down her neck and more of the weight of the tar slipped from her hair.
After another minuet or so of the warm water running down her neck and the weight slipping from her hair Vantie had finished. She had gotten her vest and boots on and was just pulling her right glove on when she looked up at him as if she wished to say something. He put a finger to her lips and told her to rest.
"The rest will be coming soon." he said, "and as I intend ro keep my word, we will need our strengeth to get rid of Dac."

Dac Vin
..It was true that Dac would not go back to his body. The truth is, he didn't need it anymore... The advantage of being a free spirit surpassed by far what he had when he was mortal. One of them, was the ability to renew itself and create a new body for him...
But that would be for later, when the Charr, and hopefully those heretics known as Vanatiel and Alicia, would lay down in a pool of their own blood. Now, Dac had to take care of the Charr, chase them from Tyria, and rebuild Ascalon...
"They buried your old body already, my friend..."
Dac immediatly saw the one "Shadow". But this time, he could see what he was: A free spirit, just like him.
"Do not think about your old friends anymore, Damian. You are now nothing more of an enemy greater than the Charr to them..."
"Excepted for Malikai", Dac said.
"Mali is a different case. You see, this children could see through this web of deception you had over you. He could see who you really were, he could see that behind the illusion hid someone who was just like him, but older..."
"Just like me? But-"
"It's true, Damian." The shadow paused for a while, before continuing his speech. "Do you remember in Lion's Arch? When you taught him how to read one's feeling?"
"Yes I do."
"Well, let me teach you something. For an adult like you, you can read their feelings, pain, pleasure... But childrens blessed with this skill see something else. When Mali tried to read Vanatiel's feelings, all he saw was pure wickedness. For Alicia and the others, the wicked was inside, but in a way lesser quantity..."
"And me?"
"You were just as wicked as the others, Dac. But Mali could sense the struggle within you. He knew you were fighting agains't wickedness, and he knew that when he would become an adult, he too would be wicked..."
"...So that's why he came for me. To learn how to fight back, to stay a children forever..."
"Exactly." the shadow said.
It was at this moment that it started to rain on the two spirits. But it wasn't the normal tar rain that permeated Ascalon's clouds since the Searing: This rain was clear, clearer than all the rains in the world...
"I see you already started your work, Damian. You may have lost all your friends, you may have lost all trust in them, but you know what you have to do..."
"Rebuild Ascalon..."
"Right. Do not let your hatred against your friends blind you. They just don't know who you really are..."
And on these words, the shadow dissapeared into the land, watching Dac's every move.
And thus Dac headed north, into the heart of the Charr, and far away for his friends. He could not care anymore though: Every second in his spirit form made him stronger, pulling energy from his surroundings, and Charr unlucky to cross his path...

srry that it has been a while since i last posted.. i just started school!!!
Mali couldn't believe that everyone around him was dissappearing, all he had left with him were Omega, Sanjinu, and Skry. Mali, now 10 yrs old and 2 months away from becoming 11, had become a pretty good elementalist, now he was getting lessons from Skry on how to be a ranger. "Why would my own mother abondon me?" he thought. "Its Vantie... I know it is." He wished that Dac would find him and take him to Vantie so he could..kill him. "No, she did it on her own she thinks he is so charming. That is fine with me I don't need her anymore." "Dac why, why did you leave me??"
OOC: Sorry about the huge advance in age, I just thought he should age some, so he could be.. more mature. This is getting really good. I can't wait to see how it turns out!!!

===========
There was no word from the caravan for over five days. Vantie and Alicia kept themselves busy killing things and making camp for themselves. But on the third night, something strage happened.
The moon rose full and clear. The night, otherwise, was cloudless and starless. Vantie had extinguished the fire early, as they usually let it burn out overnight. When the moon was overhead, he woke Alicia.
"Come now, we must do this before the moon moves any further."
There was a pitch black candle burning where the fire usually would. Vantie's hands were bleeding. Vantie sat on one side of it and directed Alicia to the other side. Then he reached across the candle and took her hands. Using a crudely made and ghastly looking knife he slit her hand as well. They held hands and then they were centered over the candle, so as the blood dripped down into the flickering light of the flame. They then sat and cleared their minds of all thought. The words came to them in a dream like way.
'In the darkness
We find light
We find shelter
In the night
Shadows many
Brightness none
Grenth is master
We are one
Together, difference
There is one
But we together
Can't be won
Bone minions, fiends
The people think
But in reality
They're the link
Death is pleasnt
Life, a curse
As we chant this
Verse by verse
Grenth we call you
Your Children cry
Our existance
Is a lie'
They chanted this until the light of the candle had dissapeared, at wich point a few drops of the poisoned bog water, and a few other things from one of Vantie's bags were added to the wax and blood mixture. Again the chant was called until the flame was put out.
At this point the was was kept melted by a steady Immolate by Alicia while it was sectioned off into four parts, each of them taking two. This was poured onto their still bleeding hands to seal off the wounds.
"What exactly was that for?" Alicia asked as she was peeling the last of the hardened wax from her hand and melting it back into the candle.
"This candle is made from the pure essence of Grenth himself. You see, the wax was origonally pure white, but to every Necromancer he gave a scar to, he added their blood to the candle. Over the years the candle wax turned to red, and finally to the pure black it is now. This was his way of keeping track of how many children he had, be they alive or dead."
As he was done with it, it was passed to me. It was his last gift. You may now call to Grenth for any reason, but only in dire need. He shall do what you ask, but you only have a maximum of five favors."
"I see." She said and yawned. The dawn was approaching. She had to get some sleep for she had a long day ahead of her...

".......what is this place" said Eric in a calm voice. Then he saw two charr walking up to him. The charr stood there for a second and Eric then said "You guys need some mouthwash..." The charr then punched Eric hard and Eric was out again. The charr guards then told their boss of what happened. The boss then came into the torture chamber. "Wake up, filthy human." said the charr. "....what do you want with me....." "I want you to spy on the Ascalons. If you chosse to accept I will set you free." "And if I refuse?" "You will rot here." Eric then thought "Hmmmm should I? *grins*" "Ok big man you got yourself a deal." said Eric. "Good". Then the charr boss let him go to spy on them. "Well? Where is my equipment? You cant expect me to spy on them in case they figure out I am a spy." The charr boss showed him to his equipment and sent him on his way. Eric then said to himself "This is great....."
Dac Vin
Woot! ownage is back! Well, hope you like your new "villain" status (I REFUSE that Dac go evil, goddamnit!)
Anyway, on with the story! As I said, long post...
-------------
Three days have passed since Dac Vin "died" at the hands of Vanatiel and Alicia. Three days since his soul was sealed, broken from his mortal body, then released, in hope that it would become lost, unworthy of Grenth and life. Three days since far from being lost, Dac realized the potential of his new form, and swore to earth, he would spell the end of the Charr and their constant oppression...
Three days passed since all that. During those, he had been busy crafting, along with the help of other, benevolent spirits like him (And yet far weaker), a ritual that would seal, forever and ever, the fate of those unholy beasts, and restore Ascalon to the green it was before the Searing. A ritual that was passed on many Druids, and became more and more powerful with each spirit that added its parts to it. Dac was no exception: he significantly tweaked the ritual past it's limitations, in order to let the whole Ascalon bask in it's spiritual reviviscence...
Now three days passed, and finally, the ritual was complete. It didn't look so much from an human eye: Just a few glowing circles and line, some arcane symbols, that's it. But Dac knew that behind
Now the last thing that was required to start the ritual was a sacrifice of blood, not unlike a normal necromancer ritual. But unlike those, that ritual required blood that was not tainted, and it would not taint it in the process. Also, it required the full blood of a half-grown...
Dac Vin knew there was one person who could be sacrified. And this is where most of it's contribution came from. He implemented a new part in it, in order to cleanse the blood that would be tainted... He also added another part, but that one, he hid it deep in him. No one knew what it was, or how it would react. All they know, is that it caused the ritual to take twice as much time as usual. Not a good thing, but Dac know what he was doing, so they let him do so...
All that remained was waiting. He was not sure if they would come, but he would, no matter what happened... And then he would strike two birds with one stone. Two ignoble birds which caused pain and desolation wherever they roamed...
--------------
"I can feel him. He's near."
Just a bit south, Sanjinu, Omega, Skry and Malikai were making their way north, going only Malikai knows. All they knew: Dac Vin wold be there. And he needed them to help him...
"I'm still shocked at his 'demise'," Sanji said. "Who knew Alicia and Vantie would fell as low as abandoning us and kill off any help..?"
Skry quickly replied. "I don't find it too surprising. I mean, he broke his promise, right?"
"I refuse to believe that!" Sanjinu was boiling with rage. "Sure, he might have broken a promise, but the other way, I would expect him to EXACTLY do that if I ever jumped ship!" He then paused to get back some air. "I don't know, but somehow, I feel like it was all set up to get rid of him. Yeah, it was that. They were jealous of him being liked by Mali more than his father, and hoped that killing him would bring Mali back to them..."
Omega slightly nodded. "...But they didn't consider Dac's free nature. So the assassination backfired in their faces, and shifted our goal from finding both Ali and Van to find Dac-"
The group was suddently interrupted by Malikai screaming. "He's there! He's there!"
Everybody looked out of the caravan. Dac Vin was there, in all his spiritual glory.
"I'm glad to see you all here to see the beginning of the Cleansing. Come, my friend. The sooner we do this, the better..."
---------
And so everything was in place for the ritual to begin. The moon was full, the sky was clear. Perfect time.
"Spirits of this world, can you hear me?" Dac's voice boomed through the land. Yet he was making sure that some would not hear it.
"Can you hear me? Or can you only hear the cry of this land, still suffering after all those years?"
"This land has been mauled, mutilated, raped by an otherwordly force. I cannot stand this, do you understand me?"
"So I'm beseeching you, help me cleanse those lands of it's vermin!" He raised his spiritual hand up to the sky, and the symbols brightened.
"Step in the center, Mali." he told the kid. And Mali stepped in. Immediatly, he started glowing, and floating.
"Do not worry, everything will be safe." Then Dac said the arcane words.
"Als Ico Vas Nao!"
Suddently, blood started flowing down Mali's hands, landing on the ground in big droplets. still looking in awe, Sanjinu couldn't help but notice one thing:
"The blood... he got BLACK blood!"
As expected by Dac Vin, the blood didn't get out of the circle, completly filling it as the last drop flowed out of Mali's veins. Malikai was still there, still floating, but his life was on the ground...
"Alsticor!"
No reaction could be immediatly seen, apart from the runes shining even further. Yet as time advanced, the blood slowly turned to black, from dark red, and then to the brightest red Sanji and friends had seen
"Valenait!"
Then droplet after droplet, the blood came back to Mali, following the reverse way from whence it came. Then when it was completly in him, he stopped floating, and fell on the ground. And then he opened his eyes, and looked toward Dac.
"Stay in the circle, Malikai" he told him. Then he shifted his gaze to Sanji and friends. "This is only the beginning. The ritual is powering up now, and when will come the time, I will unleash it's salvation on Ascalon. Meanwhile, we have to wait..."
-----------
Vanatiel was sleeping when something woke him up.
"Huh? What's going on?" Yet when he stood up, a powerful pain exploded in him. Silently screaming in agony, he could only know what was happening...
And an eternity later, the pain was gone.
"Vantie! What's going on?" He could only hear Alicia's sweet voice.
"It's Malikai! He... Worse than death..."
Then he fainted.
"VANTIE!" Alicia fell on Vantie, only to be relieved he was still alive. Yet she knew what happened.
Malikai's bond had been broken. He had no longer the mark of Vanatiel in his blood...
"Dac Vin..."
And then her rage exploded. Spying on them, he could understand. Trying to kil them, that would be normal after what happened.
But Malikai... If he killed him, she would have hunted him down and killed, even if she had to go to the Mists to find him! And yet... What he did was, indeed, worse than killing.
He erased all sign of Vanatiel and her in Mali's blood. He now was the children of no one, not of them, and not of Grenth anymore.
"I will kill him, I will maul him down, I will crush him like the insignifiant insect he is! Take my word on it, Grenth!"
Anyway, on with the story! As I said, long post...

Storm Crow
Her anger overtook her. She swore she would kill him. Her hands were clenched so tightly into fists that her nails reopend the scars on her hands. Slowly she opened them, staring at the blood dripping down to the ground. That was it. The blood. It was all she had left.
She rutted through Vantie's bag, caring not of all the spells and vials he carried, only of the candle. When she found it, she put it in the place it had been before but this time, she drew the one symbol that meant anything, the one thing that had been stripped of Malikai, the one thing that bound her to her master, upon the ground. She repeated the ritual that had been done the night before, this time adding the arcane words that came to her in the dreamlike state.
Using her own blood, she drew upon the strength of her master, calling him forth.
He answered with the flame of the candle, making it burn in a black light, using the smoke to conjure an image of himself.
"Grenth, the ritual must prove true. I wish to use the first of my five favors."
"Go on." he said in his dead man's voice.
"Dac Vin has proved himself to be a traitor. He has stolen your mark from Malikai's veins. He wishes to make himself the hero by tearing us apart and saving Ascalon himself. I beg of you Master, set upon his soul the deepest of suffering. Kill it, slowly and painfully, and send it to the deepest parts of the underworld to float in the Mists, never to find rest."
And as a second favor, reset the ritual he and the other spirits have created, make it never to be used again. Never shall your mark be removed from my family, Grenth. Kill all those who try."
"So it shall be done, my child."
As she spoke these words the rage grew inside her. Slowly her misty grey-green eyes turned to black, marking her forever as a Child of Grenth. She did not care if she was marked, she was proud of what she was. She and Vantie stood as the links. Death not yet happening, but life behind them. They alone were the true Children of Grenth, and they alone could stop Dac Vin from commensing in his evil rituals.
Attempting the murder of Alicia was his first mistake, thinking he could get away with it his second. And his third mistake was thinking that he could remove the Mark of Grenth from Maliaki without being punished. He was soon going to find that these mistakes, would be his last...

After Eric had left the charr camp he made his way to Ascalon and started doing his work. Eric knew that he could just lie to get himself out of that chamber but he knew eventually that the charr would come out and find him. Then kill him. Also Eric never turned down a deal. Along the way to Ascalon he took a little break at the broken down wall and fixed him some lunch. While he was sitting there he remembered a prophecy that was told before him. The prophecy said
"On a long journey to a city, your mission will be wrecked and you will fall beneath your combantant."
Eric knew that this was not true and said to himself
"I dont believe in prophecies. They are fake. None of them come true." After eating his lunch he headed off again to Ascalon. He did not realize that his body was being feeded off of an evil force. A force so sinister that the only way it could be defeated was by death.
Eric soon became very tired for an unknown reason and took a nap on the side of the wall and thought "Why am I tired so soon? This is odd. My endurance is much highr than this." Just then his hand started glowing black.
"What in the name of Dwayna?"
The glowing hand then produced an evil figure. The figure was of a human shape. It had an arm for a blade and another arm for a shield. Its body was covered in a dark magic unlike anyone has seen.
"MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"
"You have got to be kidding me. Im tired and look what happens. Some evil figure comes out and wants to kill me? Is that correct or is there more to the story?"
"You are the one who I have feeding off of. I am Filn, stealer and keeper of souls and you are my next victim. MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
