I didnt really want to make a new post since it kind of goes along the lines of this one. I know people used to farm etins for rune unlocks, but they had been nerfed and I was wondering how they were nerfed (I searched but only found that they had been nerfed, not what happend to it)
Did the Etins stop dropping the runes or were they just moved. I was also wondering if they were talking about the Etins that are near the Ascalon Settlement or if there were more that I didnt know about.
I have never done alot of farming, just a little here and there when I needed a little cash and my curiosity finally got to me about this one, lol.
And finally - Does anyone know any decent place that unlocks runes now? I dont do enough RvR to earn the faction points to buy them and want to do it the good old fashioned way

5-10k in 13min interesting, IVE ONLY HEARD THAT 10000000000 TIMES THERE ARE 260 SOME POSTS IN HERE SAYING THAT, what would be nice is to provide some info like where how (pm if possible or just come out and tell everyon where)

Just out of curiosity, Can you be any more of a beggar? Get off the damn boards and go look for your own spot. You have asked REPEATEDLY in this thread for people to tell you where to go. Go find some on your own and maybe YOU can share instead of leeching on everyone else's spot.

For those that care, the DC chest still provides nice items --- not as often, but in less than an hour I managed to get a 3:1 vamp sword mod and a +29 health sword mod (however that one didn't salvage and I almost broke my monitor).

LOL, been there done that, I know how you feel!! and I still use the DC chest to unlock upgrades, even though I have never gotten a max upgrade from there I figure health +29 is good enough for me
I have figured out a decent way to get minor runes unlocked. But you NEED to have 2 people and at least one of them be lv 20 with AoE attacks (yes you can PM me for the info, but not gonna post it here and get flamed, most people probably already thought about at some point anyway). Its the minor and superior runes I cant seem to get. And I solo most of the time with my Elementalist which leaves out the fire islands since I die really really fast there.

Here's a Sanctum Cay run. I went through to find as many barrels/chests as I could and eventually found a mob of about 20-25 mantle at the last. Picture is worth 1000 words so here it is, follow the white line. Green dots are chests/barrels. You could possibly farm the last bunch of mantle for more loot. I ran through all of this with a warrior using sprint, charge and mending.
EDIT: Just salvaged my first run and got 7 steel ingots, wood planks gonna get turned to parchment

for the level 20s the 'Alternate' Route to Kryta's gates drops a lot of items. Before dying by four Lightning drakes, I got 4 purple items. Go figure!

Although I disagree that chest farming is lame, its a perfectly fine way of getting money and items, if the containers are there, then people can do what they want with them. (Except the obvious.)

I've been trying the chest runs for some days now. I havent managed to get loads of cash but it still a nice flow of gold and items.
My average goes from 2-3k an hour. Wich maybe low, but im a patient guy, plus doing runs with my monk takes some time LOL.
This forums are great. The info members submit, not only in this thread but in all of them, is 90% really good stuff.

Something new for you guys to feast on.
Definately not a run for the unskilled, but theres a chest at Dreadnaughts Drift just behind a broken ballista.
I haven't had a gold from it yet, but a few purples. Main thing is though the damn chest dumps at least 10 items each time. I only checked about four times, im far too impatient to chest-farm. Half the items (or more) are blue.
One trip, rezone till inventory is full. If you know how to work it its some very easy money.
Cautionary note: If you aren't a warrior, you probably shouldn't bother. You'll either have to run Lornars or Snakes to get to it.

this might be too much to ask, dont feel like you have to but it is X-tremely helpful to take a screen shot of teh location, also if possible visit me in-game id love for u to show me exactly where this is located.

The run itself may be simple enough but the area is right in the middle of the Beakons/Droknar run, but if you can get there it seems good.

my friend and i ran it oin our warriors (im lev 16, shes lev 20) and i died about halfway through snake dance but she made it to the zone and brought me back, and then right on the other side of the zone, i died by the giants, too much damage even with droknars knights/platemail armor and a minor absorp, and not enough hitpoints. but after a couple tries we made it, she got 7 items i got 3, she got a max damage chaos axe and a max def. shield with mods, i got a max damage clean longword and a kickass second hand item and some other item. but its really a hard chest to get to, not really worth it in the long run unless you can solo it and do it quick.

I for one like to solo, its how i have fun sometimes. ESPECIALLY if ive had 3-4 fissure or uw groups in a row that have complete morons(the people that dont listen to the rest of the group) in them, which tends to happen most of the time unfortunately. I say if people want to solo stuff, and can, let them. Especially if theyve taken the time to scout the area out(dying many times mind you), perfect thier build and do so. Some people's fun thrive on this.
