BEST BUY UPDATE. I just talked to someone at the store in my area and he said the CE is in transit by Fedex so it should be arriving later tonight or tomorrow. You may want to check in your area as well!

Seems we have some extra. The one I work at (in Scarborough) got two copies in of the CE (the two I'd ordered). Having found out about the soon-to-be char slots for purchase, Im' turning my 2nd account into storage only, therefore don't need a CE (so rush to Scarborough everyone
) I snapped up my copy of course. The website (www.game.net) seems to still have some in stock as well. So if you want a copy check your local GAME, but be FAST, they still haven't sent many out I gotta say though, this is one of the best things that coulda happened to those of us who can get it; there are SO many people admiring you when you do the dance emote
hehe. Was just in both the Monastery and Tsumei Village and of course they were busy; I was the only person there with a Factions CE. So those who have it, enjoy it while it's scarce

because i'm getting my game from bestbuy in-store i probably wont get ce (it's probably not arriving like anet has said) or sold out in a few hours because poor me is too young to drive But it's cool that you got ce must be sweet with all those goodies

I got my regular edition today, just after Best Buy opened. They had a bunch on the shelves. Got my t-shirt too. I've gone ahead and canceled the CE I'd pre-ordered from gamestop. I'd been on the fence about the usefulness of it, so took the delay as a sign to not get it. lol Maybe Chap 3 will be more to my taste.

So far I have called stores in 5 different states and I'm getting the same tune for the most part.. "We wont have it till May 5th". I'm not even sure how definate that date is. Did anyone here in the USA manage to get a copy of the CE? If so let me know what state your in and i'll have to work some magic to go get one.

The system, when I checked at ~ noon today, didn't even show any ALLOCATED TO BE SENT.
However, your area could be special.
There are at least two confirmed Best Buy employee's (me and Studio Ghibli) eagerly waiting for the CE. Trust me. When Best Buy gets it, you'll know. We'll post about it.

fragyou: The Best Buy in my area (San Jose, CA) and within 20 mile radius of it, does not have any in transit today. I had them check the systems and I used to work there too, looks like the shipment date is still set for May 19th. Sadness.

Im confused as to where are the stores getting this may 5th date from?
when on guildwars' site it says "we expect those to ship in the U.S. on June 30, 2006." .. maybe there are aload of CE copies floating about?

I went to game in the UK to pick up my pre ordered CE and they seid its unavailable, but they have a few held back at their head office and if i want to i can pay over the phone via credit card but had to pay more

I have even checked eBay and havnt found any here in the states, though I think i'll head over to ebay.co.uk and see whats up. I checked with a dozen or so Gamestop's and EBGames and the ydon't even have a reserve SKU for the CE, so I can't even reserve the CE from them. Somethings not adding up here....

The June date on the website is when the SECOND batch of CE's will be done. The first batch just got delayed in shipping at some point so most stores should have it within the next week or so.

Ebgames at my mall didnt have any...was very disappointed as I don't have head start access so i can't play until i got a CE (which im not giving up on). They said 1 week, so may 5th I guess...sigh...

I'm very very disappointed with the lack of official word in these CE threads (that have been unhelpfully merged into one unwieldy lump), but not surprised. Not surprised at all. Don't get me wrong, the game's good, but the frequent missteps from ANet and NCSoft are very disappointing.

I pre-ordered mine on Amazon.co.uk; there was no sign of it being dispatched on Thursday, and when I checked on Friday it was showing a dispatch date of '1 to 2 weeks' - eeek.
Fortunately I checked again today, and my order is now showing 'dispatching soon', and the product page says 'usually dispatched within 24hrs'.
Just hoping it gets here before the extended head-start event is over - until then I'll just sit in Shing Jea Monastery, and glare at the people that have it already

I called EBGames/Gamestop Customer service and asked about getting some sort of key to extend my playtime till my CE arives, and they gave me a pre-order key and said "they said they would extend it till the CE comes out". So I guess we'll see if that is true.

My sister made a point yesterday when we were talking about this whole CE debacle, and then it just became a humorous sticking point.
She said "What was the point of PRE-ordering? Isn't that so the company knows how many of something to make?"
Which I then quickly turned into me pretending to be working at NCSoft, saying "Listen, the Pre-Orders of CE are all in... looks like we have 17.2 million pre-orders. Now, I need you to get on the phone and call Billy Anderson, he's the guy that's going to be doing the counts to make sure we have enough pre-order versions of Factions. Because we'll naturally have to match the pre-orders to the number of boxes made, that only makes sense. Where's Billy at right now? He should be getting out of his 2nd grade class for recess. Just tell his teacher that we need him today earlier than anticipated, and that his mom said it was ok, and that we have a lunch prepared for him."
...basically, saying that a second grader could have estimated the pre-order "demand" by checking the number of pre-orders they received. Something about how they weren't "prepared" makes me itch.

Last night I get a call from GameStop telling me my CE will be ready for pickup today.
I get to store and guys starts looking around for it. I tell him what's going on and he says ok let me check my emails. Finds out that it has been delayed till JUNE 28th. Email said call for a special code to continue playing.
I call get the code. While speaking to the rep after entering code I saw that it gave the same benifits as the pre order. After asking the rep said it is a pre order code.
Anet has really made a mess of this. I know its not their fault because they cannot control the manufacturers. They need to extend the pre order key for CE till the release.
Otherwise they are going to lose my CE sell. They stand to lose MILLIONS from this blunder if they do not do something about it.

My suggestion is not to delete the 2 slots we got from the preview after the 10 days grace period for those pple who want to add in the retail collectors key, make them invalid fine but dont delete them. Its only fair to those who are waiting for their copy of CE to add in the keys to their original account.
Please dont tell us to just buy and add in the normal ed keys to confirm the 2 slots we invested time playing in and then to buy another CE just to enjoy /dancenew....seriously read this yourself again and understand the anger that been generated by your devoted fans who wants a fair go at playing the game with CE while supporting ANET who been doing a good job so far.

I was planning on getting the Collector's Edition of Factions, not only for me but for my son too, mostly just to show my support of a great game...but having the poster hanging on my wall would have been cool too. When I couldn't find it at the store my first thought was that they had sold out. When I asked the doofus about it he said they didn't come in and they weren't planning on having any for at least a couple weeks! WHAT??? Then I saw the post at GuildWars.com about the delay. Boy did Anet drop the ball on that one. The die-hards like me are the ones that are gonna drop the extra coin on the collector's edition and we certainly aren't gonna wait a few weeks after the game is released to buy it. Terrible planning....u guys missed out on a ton of cash.

I think you get it only if you preordered. Only after flashing my preorder receipt did they even acknowledge that it was even coming (though next week).
