I trust Gaile will be personally delivering my copy of guildwars CE to my home if my EB store says they wont be here til a week later. Oh how sweet of her.
I rather wait on word from Alex who handles Europe which covers Australia to say something about this.

lol, guys, hehe, some respect to Gaile. I'm not defending her, I don't know her, never met her, not even in-game. But as someone who's in the same profession as her (Community Manager [of an online game]), you know, we're just doing our jobs. Whatever our superiors tell us, that's what we deliver.
True it hurts that our boxes will be delayed, but it might be with your stores already not ANet's.
Secondly, FYI, NCsoft is handling the international distribution not ANet. NCsoft restricted ANet within North America only. In fact, a NCsoft release GW Press Releases 24 hours advance than ANet/GW site. See the difference and separation influence here business side?
Relax. There's nothing we can do with the delays, this isn't a perfect world. A delay doesn't mean it's with the developers or their parent company's fault. It may even be the shipment from Europe to Aus/NZ that's causing (or will cause) the delay. Regardless, a little respect here. The person, as far as she knows and as informed, as she said, no delays they know on their end.
To share, my store where I ordered, and from a friend ordering from BB, do not have/will not have delays. According to them, no known delays from the boxes coming from Anet/NCsoft.
Check your stores, ask them where the delay is coming from. If they say ANet/NCsoft then contact ANet/NCsoft again as well as Gaile then let them handle the rest.
:/

Laibeus Lord, now that we now what you doing for a job, you sux and hate joo 2. /jk
Its likely Gaile havent gotten the info yet or theres a big screw up at particulally EB since they have called up all their pre order customers with the same message of the delay.

hehe @Thallandor, I know I know...
everybody hates CMs. we get the fire. we're the buffer between company and customers... huhu, but we get hmm... all I can say, high paid job
anyway, cross-fingers, let's hope there really are no delays 'worldwide'. If there are, let's hope whatever will cause/is causing it, they can solve it before the 28th and even better start shipping the boxes to stores before the 27th
^_^
so everybody's happy, and we can start killing turtles, I mean Luxons.

you've got it all wrong, its not that its delayed, its that they've ran out of allocation stock for the first batch, when I read this post I was a bit disappointed so I rang the company I pre-ordered mine from (www.gameplay.com) and the lady explained everything properly which was nice to her.
http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/...ectors_edition
this page is updated to say the first batch has sold out. - assuming a similiar situation has happened to other companies.

Maybe EB of Brisbane has such a large opinion of themselves that they class a delay to them as a worldwide delay.... and everyone else will get theirs on the 28th. sarcasm/ joking whatever fits hopefully not the truth.
Problem is that is where my preorder was placed and I am one of those people that got the dreaded delayed 1 week phone call.
I hope EB have got wires crossed and Gaile is on the ball as per usual.

A similar topic started at gwonline where gaile reacted in the topic... but only very brief and vague... I think they simply dont know it... lets hope they will check it out. It might be an australian "problem" (you know... all that ocean around it...
)
My retailer still has the CE set on the correct date...

I'll be mostly in the Alliance Battles after I finish the missions and quests in Cantha, as well as unlock every sides and corner of each map in the game. Then Alliance Battles all the way. ^^

The website I am getting my pre-order from (UK) still says release is Saturday.
Fair enough if they have some problem in producing the physical goods part of the package, why cant they just ship CD keys which give you access / dance emotes and ship physical parts of pre-order later.
That could be what the website im using is doing hence nod elay in release, i'll probably just get a delay in recieving the package.

im not too bothered, if i dont get my game on the day of release i'll just cancel it and not bother with faction, after reading about the top guilds getting access to the best things im regretting preordering it anyway
Thallandor
Sorry you feel that way led-zep, i was a doubter before also till i heard Jeff Strain's 3 part interview with VGM.

VGM Daily interviewed Jeff Strain, Co-Founder of ArenaNet about Guild Wars Factions in a 3 part interview and the mp3 files can be download from the website:
http://www.vgmfusion.com/
Part 1 link (31:57min, 12.8 MB):
http://www.vgmfusion.com/get.php?web..._Daily_E46.mp3
Part 2 link(30:55min, 12.4 MB):

Part 3 link(28:35min, 11.4 MB):
http://www.vgmfusion.com/get.php?web..._Daily_E48.mp3
Here are all the questions that were asked during the interview (and the order they were asked in).
1. What are the differences/changes between the original Guild Wars, and Guild Wars factions?
2. Does Factions have a bigger/better storyline than the original GW? Are there more or less “Player vs Enemy” missions and quests than the first installment?
3. If you have both copies of the game will you be able to go between games with characters?
4. Besides Amber, are there going to be any other new crafting materials in Factions?
5. Most players seemed fairly happy with the new henchmen such as Talon Silverwing, Brutus, or the earth elementalist. Is there any chance of improved henchmen like these being added to any areas in the original Prophecies campaign?
6. What major changes are on the horizon for the game engine and GW as a whole (across both Factions and Prophecies)?
7. We have been told that player to player trade improvements are coming, can we get specifics?
8. We’ve heard that a re-connect system is on the way so that if someone drops, they can get back in to the same GvG/Hall of Hero’s mission and keep fighting. What will the limitations be, and can we get a rough timeframe on when that’s gonna happen?
9. Will ascended Guild Wars characters who travel to Cantha need to buy every Faction only skill with skill points and gold? Or will quests allow players to gain the skills?
10. When you were planning Guild Wars Factions, which aspect entered into your plans first? Player vs Enemy or Player vs Player?
11. Will there be Neutral Quests for those who don't decide to join the Luxons or Kurzicks?
12. From what we saw during the Factions preview event, the Kurzick areas seemed significantly harder than the Luxon territories. Combined with the tremendous popularity among players for the Luxon side, it led to a huge imbalance in the Luxon vs. Kurzick mission zones. Was this an aberration due to only a portion of the game being available for play, and if wasn’t, are steps being taken to adjust that imbalance?
13. We've already been told that Ritualists and Assassins will only be able to be created in Cantha, implying that no new Rit/Assn content like skill quests will be added to Tyria. On the other hand, the core classes will have content in both continents. How does ANet plan to keep the core classes from having an overwhelmingly larger amount of content compared to non-core classes?
14. ANet is hoping to add new classes and abilities to the game through Factions. However, many players are beginning to feel that with Faction's release, new classes will begin to look more and more like existing classes. How do you make sure that doesn’t happen?
15. What is ANet's long term plan with GW combat? Will it ever expand beyond the team build concept?
16. What higher level areas will be available in Factions?
17. Will guilds/alliances be able to change the Faction they're aligned to at any time? Is there any penalty for doing so?
18. How are you going to keep small Guilds/Alliances and causal players happy in Factions, since they will likely never see Elite missions without having to significantly change their play-styles to access them? Or are we completely off base and the casual fan WILL be able to access them?
19. What is being done in Guild Wars: Factions to increase the speed of unlocking PvP content and decrease the time it takes for a new player to enter into the competitive side of the game?
20. Will the 12v12 alliance battles still allow an individual to enter them and be grouped up with other individuals to form a 4 person group or will all groups have to be formed before entering the PvP mission?
21. It’s pretty obvious that ANET really wants to make sure that the PvP part of the game is the most balanced of any MMO out there. How do you make sure that doesn’t negatively effect the PvE aspect where gameplay tends to be vastly different?
22. Will the Fame and Rank system be changed so it's possible to earn Fame/Rank outside of Hero's Ascent? This was a question asked by several people who were frustrated at the perceived rank snobbery that takes place in the game.
23. How is the grouping in European servers going to be handled? There are fears that like the first game French, English, and German players may end up grouped together.
24. Are you guys still leaving in game chat to 3rd party software, or are their plans to introduce something in game?
25. The pending 3rd chapter of the game – is it going to be completely different then the first two games, or more of the same?
26. Any tidbits of information you can throw our way about chpt 3?

Good thing I have 2 account, even if CE was delayed I can get my regular copy and play with my current characters (which is the most I'm excited about more than the new professions)
As for the CE I guess my Ritualist will have to wait for a bit if the CE is delayed.

Firstly, we'd like to apologise for not having a response for you sooner. We've spent the day since we became aware of this issue gathering as much accurate information as possible before passing it on to you. We're continuing to follow up, but there is some information I can share now.
I can confirm there have been some shipping and distribution delays on the Factions Collector's Edition. We're working around-the-clock to shorten these delays, and to have the CE on shelves wherever possible on the 28th. This is not a global delay as some of you have been told, but we will keep you informed as the situation changes.
I can confirm that the Factions Standard Edition will be available worldwide on the 28th.
I'll keep you informed over the next few days with updates as they become available. Right now, the above is all I can provide.

Thanks Alex.
Is there any chance of extending the life of the pre order keys to compensate for this.
Imagine the frustration of playing for 2 days then facing the choice of buying a normal copy while you wait for your CE(total cost to me, ~£80 UK pounds) to turn up, or having your access expire(leaving you stranded) while you wait.
Besides in many places the Monday is a national holiday, so even normal mail order editions may get delayed for delivery until the Tuesday, thus making the situation worse. I.e Key lasts from 27-29(Sat). No mail delivery on Sunday or Monday. So if people don't get it by Sat am they are out of luck for 2 days..
I realise these delays have more to do with the distribution channel, but say adding 5 extra days would create a lot less disapointment and stress for the customers, the suppliers and youselves.

I would rather just spend less, get less, and play during the first week when everyone is fresh and jumping with joy (I like taking part in that kind of community feeling) than wait for my special dance entourage

Please extend the Pre-Order keys if the situation warrants it so we can keep playing.

I too plan on puchasing two copies of CE; however, I will be pissed when my guild is playing their regular versions before I get to play my CE!!!
Alex - anyway possible that you can make a pre-order key extension happen?

A few more days access on the preorder would be a grand idea. I think it would be a very nice gestrue on Anet's part to show they really do care about their customers.(I know they already care, just saying it would be very nice of them to extend the preorder access).

I've preordered Factions a month ago. It's basicly like the online preorder, you get the codes via mail, but after Factions gets released, they send you the box with CD.
Now, it's 20 April atm and they still haven't got it in stock. I really would like to play before the 28th. So I can join the 24hour before release day (27th).
They have told me that GW: Factions would be sent to me one week or so before the actual release.
Imagine I have to wait another week or 2 to actually get my copy

I ordered from www.mediadis.com btw.

I had same problem here
I also preordered GWF online.
But,
When I saw the messge which said " GWF will be release on Apr.28, and the ship will be arrived on about May.09,"
I cancelled this order........................
May. 09?? r u kidding?
So, I just rather to buy a key on ncsoft store webside,
then I can play GWF on Apr. 28.

unless you ordered and received the preorder key you will not get in early even if they get it to you tomorrow.
preordering the game is only reserving a copy and has nothing to do with the SEPARATE preorder package which has the early access

I'm going to say also that I think the extension of the pre-order keys would be a great idea. I hope that ANet can handle the problem and get the CE out to us as soon as possible but in the mean time, key extension would be a good way to stop me biting my nails off.
