It's funny how a lot of us are going through a lot of shit just to get the CE, and then it's like we are getting barely any support for our choice.

My gamestop STILL doesn't have pre-order keys, so I didn't even check the Tengu thread. I try not to care/think about it. Getting a CE is the only thing that makes not having the pre-order key worth it.

Honestly, I don't know why people are dying because they won't be able to continue playing factions until they get the retail box... Anet was being nice when they gave all pre-orderers a head start.

Off topic: I was wondering about the bonus with the pre-order (atleast from GameStop...)

* A quick-reference card

Is the quick ref card the one that came with Prophecies with the controls and such? If so, why is that a "bonus" item.

And just what is the "tactical" guide, and is it going to be useless?

The quick ref card is the one with came with the Prophecies set, Maybe a slight layout change, The tactical guide is rather useless, Stories about Cantha, The Jade Sea, Shows you pictures of the New Classes, Pretty much usless imo.

NM. I just thought to check it online and it still hasn't shipped but it says ETA 4-28, but that is for the release.. so really it tells me nothing..Very dissapointing.

A real life tengu mask could last you for maybe a year unless you keep it in a high security glass case or something like that, whereas an In-game tengu mask could last you practically forever, or maybe until the servers die out.

Ok now I'm ticked! JUST got the confirmation that my Pre-Order box has shipped on 4/21/06... I DOUBT I'm going to get the headstart due to my choice of USA Value shipping... It's a shame, anything to look like a Big Bird would have been comedic... Well, what a waste of a pre-order bonuns, oh well, at least I'm still getting the CE.

Question.

1st Scenario:
If the leader of the Alliance ordered a CE, but due to delay won't be getting the game, can he still initiate the Alliance on Early Access or Release?

If other guild leaders that are supposed to be in the Alliance do not have the game because of CE delay (or even if they have a normal Faction edition), can they still accept the invitation to Alliance?

2nd Scenario:
If same leader above decided to puchase a Normal Edition, can he then upgrade to a CE later ?

im in miami, FL and every gamestop,EB, and Bestbuy say they dont have a "skew" for it. One guy was nice enough at EB and gave me two pre-order boxes for free for me and the wife. I find this odd because for example when i go to bestbuy and show them a printout of their website showing CE, they STILL cant look it up.

who isnt communicating here? do you guys NOT want my extra 20 buxx or something? Are you actually REFUSING it? lol

what happened is they are sold out and when that happens it is pulled from the database (not the sold database) and to the clerk it cant be found as it no longer exists to them

EB sent me a e-mail (today) saying my CE order has been shipped out (ordered on-line).

EB (Store) kept telling me it wasn't in there system in the past and they could order the reg version and swap it latter which I was not about to chance.

that doesnt make sense to me, because I have been asking them for a few months now. Not to mention a few stores told me they NEVER had the skew. This is crazy,

ALEX come back here and give us a heads up soon please. either that or extend the pre-order key time to 5 days.

I know this has been said somewhere but I can't find where the proof of this is. I was confused on the extend 10 days. I was under the impression that I could play the game for 10 days before I had to purchase a copy of the game... though someone argued that it's only good for the 27th and 28th and that the 10 days is just for the character slots before they get deleted. Can someone point me to the answer to this... I know it's floating around here so thanks for your patience.

What the other person said is true; check the Guild Wars website as well.

The head start begins on the 27th, and is good until midnight Pacific on the 28th. Then 10 days later, if you have not added a Factions Key, then any Canthan characters you own will be deleted.

For people in the UK who orderd at GAME.net :

I just phoned and asked if there was a delay,

GAME: "we arnt aware of a delay your copy should be shipped on the 25'th or 26'th"

Snowman: "I put down a standard business 2 day delivery on my order, can I upgrade that delivery to say next day?"

GAME: "the only way you could do that is if you canceld the order and re-made it, but that product is now out of stock so you would miss delivery anyway until it comes back in stock"

Snowman: "So your definatly sure that my copy will be sent out and I will receive it on or before the 28'th?"

GAME: "Yes sir, we've not been notified of any problems except running out of stock, so as far as the available information I have you should definatly receive it "

Snowman: "W00t!...er I mean, Thank you"

for customers in the UK, I think its entirly possible to those who have not pre-orderd well in advance, you may have in fact orderd it when its 'out of stock' in which the delay would simply be them receiving the next shipment.

to those who left it until the last minute... or to those who started long forum debates or started poll's about if they should or should not pre-order factions CE, who later decided to purchase it, I say to you...

Hey all, I just got off the phone with a customer service guy at ebgames.

So this applies to those who pre-ordered the CE from EBGames and who are in the USA and who have not received conformation of their shipment yet:

When I first asked him about this issue, he was very confused, as it said I ordered it, but it wasn't even available on the website (you can go look, EBGames isn't even listing the CE anymore). He said they had zero in stock.

But they did have some (very few apparently) and they were shipped. He said they were expecting a shipment on May 4th. I wasn't gonna wait this long for the CE. So I switched my order to the regular edition.

He also said that they were shipping the REGULAR editions on the 26th/27th so unless you got overnight you probably won't receive it in time (before the 24 head start is over).

So, this sucks. Cancelled my CE and got overnight on the regular edition. Oh well.

Online retailers can't be fully trusted, nor can you trust your brick-and-mortar stores to have them in stock on release day too. There seems to be a reason for that, since each "franchise" store estimate how many people will buy the stuff and go from there.

Fortunately, I did get a copy of the pre-order package when I cancelled my SE and ordered the CE from EBGames.com. Whether my copy of the CE ships this week or not is an entirely new question. A latest check on their site says that ETA is still 4/28. So it could be Friday...it could be sometime next week or later.

I can only state factual information for the store I work in. All other stores SHOULD be on the same system, but there may be deviations.

We just got the strategy guide in today. The assassin makes me drool

This weeks ad talks about Factions. It ALSO mentions that you get a t-shirt if you buy the game. My store is expecting 16 t-shirts.

Still only 64 of the regular version expected in (should be here soon, but no change in the status).

The CE version is delayed. Keep watching here for an update on when it's going to arrive.

MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR PRE-ORDER RECEIPTS IF YOU WANT YOUR $10 OFF THE GAME!

Looking up receipts is not 100% accurate.

Also, don't run around in a panic about it

Probably means that it has been packaged, but it has either not been taken by UPS yet, or has not been given its tracking number for process through the whole shipping stuff.
