I'm in Canada and I received a message on my voice mail from EB saying my CE would not be in until first week in May, but if I wanted, I could switch to the regular one and it is available April 28th.

Given that this is a manufacturing issue, I say all stores, firestar. Most of us who were striving to get the CE just lost patience with the manufacturing issue. Clearly, we want to be in Cantha over the weekend.

My take on the problem is that the "manufacturing problems" are effecting the 2nd or third batch of CEs. Several companies have stated they will be receiving their allotment of CEs on time. They could be lying.
Either way one would think and hope that Anet would clear the matter up and tell the gamers once and for all what on earth was going on.

I don't see any problem with extending the access to 10 days. Only people who pre-ordered the game will have keys. There can be some people who got keys in other ways, such as ordered and cancelled or maybe they knew somebody at the store, but there shouldn't be too many of these people. Also, who wants to play factions for 10 days and then be locked out?
I think the best solution would be to give the stores extended access keys to distribute to collector's edition customers. If ANet is concerned with too much people getting free factions for 10 days, this method would work.

Honestly the problem isn't extending game access, it is extended the "grace period" since many will not have their faction keys until after the "grace period" has ended.

A sound idea, Lady Lozza. Unfortunately, most of us will not be waiting that long for a copy of CE now; and some players do not have a Prophecies character or two to back up on in such an interim.

Too much time and people will say, well I've done most of the game I'll cancel my order and save myself $50 - or whatever it is costing you. This is why it simply isn't feasible to extend the actual "play" section of the game too much beyond what it currently is already. The "grace period" on the other hand, is another story entirely.

Here in Australia it seems GW CE is also delayed for what seems like a week. I believe the reason is because they're having difficulties printing the bonus stickers that come with CE.... Stickers... I mean come on.

My understanding is that you can buy the physical disk/key on Launch, or just wait for NCSoft to offer online keys via their site.
If you've preordered it and entered the key, just wait for the release I believe.

You have to buy a retail key. They havent been released yet, if you purchased a full set online then you have to wait untill they ship you the box with the retail key in it.

easier to say sod it and cancel, maybe do what i did with valve and their ridiculous steam software crippled hl2. play the game to death and never buy another piece of software from them again. anet really are all about the money and have increasingly shown they dont give a monkeys about their customers, an extension to the preorder key would of kept everyone happy and nipped this in the bud days ago.
remember anet, reaping as much cash now could have a knock on effect with all the pissed off loyal customers leaving you, if not now then maybe when the next chapter is out. think on, loyalty is a 2 way street.

The preorder key you have will only allow you to play for 48 hours during the Head Start event. After that, you need a full retail key (regular or CE edition) or you can't play Factions.

I pre-ordered my CE at the local EB shop in Canberra, Australia. I ordered it 2 days ago and they didn't tell me of any delays getting it to me on the 28th. Infact they said quite the opposite, they said it will be here for me to pick up on the 28th. I don't know about you Queenslanders, but I have no delay

Remember that this delay was something beyond Anet and NCSoft's control; it has to do with the firm that's manufacturing the product. So keep that in mind when flaming the dev and publisher where your heated anger should be directed at the product manufacturer.

After EB send me e-mail that they shipped my item... on Sunday.. two days later (it was overnight shipping) .. get the were sorry cancel/change or wait til (guess) may 4th ship date on the CE.. sigh.

On the 27th of March, I ordered GW: Factions CE at GAME.net. Today as we speak I have still not recieved my pre-order package.
In the mean time I have consulted a lot of people on this forum and contacted GAME.net about my pre-order pack. I got an answer that my pre-order package should arrive about 2 weeks ago. Yes, 2 weeks ago.
After that 'email' I contacted them multiple times to ask where my pre-order packs were, the automatic reply stated that their reaction time was 4 working days, well.. i've been waiting for 2/3 weeks now thank you.
I phoned them for a total of 30 minutes but they always put me on hold, on one occasion they even disconnected me!
Today, after another 12 minute phone call without result I got fed up and went to look for a way to cancel my order. The help stated I should call a number and quote my order number, so I did, or to be specific... I tried. The number doesn't even exist!
I stopped calling because I call internationally (I live in the Netherlands, GAME.net is situated in the UK) and that is expensive.
So I decided to contact them 1 last time via the contact form, I sent them a very angry message stating my problem and their complete lack of customer service and at the end of my message I told them I wanted to cancel my order, with order number, surname and postcode. I waited for the auto-reply and I got shocked when I read that their response time had gone up to 10 (!) TEN working days! 10!!!
So now I need your advice, what should I do? I'm thinking of purchasing it somewhere else (in a store, I'm not ordering again, EVER) or wait until GAME.net sends me the game and pre-order package / confirms that I cancelled my order. To be honest, I don't even know if they have my order, sure.. I got an order confirmation but I don't know if that means anything

I assume you paid with a Credit Card? Most credit cards will stop payment, and even refund you the money (especially if they have internet consumer protection). Then, they'll deal with the jerks!
In the meantime, find another dealer.
Looks like you should have waited for the physical copy in the store. I actually had a similar exp. with EB, I pre-ordered, waited like two weeks for the box, freaked out and spent $10 at Best Buy to get one.
The next day, EB called and had the box... oh well.
