Just hit 1 mill exp on my new monk.
It doesn't take too long nor is too difficult.
I started in cantha... did all the quests on Sheng Jea Island
Got a runner to Sanctum Cay
Ascended in tyria (<3 50k exp doppleganger)
Completed Cantha
Done most of nightfall and im in Ring of Fire for tyria
I would recommend elite capping...it really is good...but expensive

Survivor is really ticking me off now. I tried it twice on a Prophecies character (I want to get it without feeling I cheated it by getting run all over the place or using a Factions character, which pretty much gets Survivor (1) for free), but the game really screws you over. My first character died at level 19 with about 240 xp more to go to Survivor (1). Massive lag spike, you come out the other end dead. And just now I spent four months on a new Prophecies monk, which I got to level 20+ (about 450,000 xp) and spent a good five months on with the plan to get Legendary Survivor (3). Massive lag spike, I came out dead the other end. Yay. Oh well, re-rolling the same monk again, then. :/

Survivor on a Paragon was laughably easy. I was a little ticked off because I missed out on the Tyrian Ascention exp (I had already "Ascended" in Elona).
For the last 400k exp, I repeated Jade Arena (much safer than Dueling Houses), which takes all of 5 minutes from start to start. I don't recommend this for Monk survivors because 30% of the time, at least 1 of mine was dead (and no resing because of Frozen Soil).
Anyone need Jadeite?

I see alot of people going for Legendary Survivor going for other titles at the same time, because they think this works, but that's really not that smart. If you already know you're going to restart if you die somewhere on the way, you should seriously consider doing it a boring way, as long as it works. If you're just going to do missions and cap skills you know you're going to be hit by that 250 damage Ritualist spell, but still people try.
Oh well, I guess I'm the only one who doesn't care I got it a "lame way".

Yes, but I get the title not to show off to other people, I get it so I can fire up Guild Wars, look at my Monk and really feel like I accomplished something. Sure, I can let someone power level me while I'm safe and sound waiting for my survivor title... but I probably wouldn't even carry the title. I feel that if I earn it myself, it'll look all the better under my name.
Obviously to each his own, we all play this game for different reasons and with different goals in mind. When I lost my Monk, I was seriously considering doing it the "lame" way as well.

Yeah, I'm with Elisa; I would do it for personal satisfaction, not because I could do a boring bit of ultra safe crap. Sure, you get the title either way, but one way you have pride in what you did.
Maxiemonster
Guess I'm just different There's no difference for me how I got a title, it's still the same thing, it won't change a single bit. I could even tell you all I got my Survivor title after I got all 3 of my Protector titles if I would want that.
And I guess it's also because I failed 3 times (1 of them being at ~600K xp), and I always want to finish what I started

But to be frank, the titles is all that really keeps me playing Guild Wars... they make it fun for me. That's why I want to spend a lot of my time getting them and don't want to rush through them in some way. That's probably the difference betwseen you and me. You still have a lot of other fun things to do in Guild Wars... I just do it for that title and will then probably just quit.
Again, to each his own. The paths we take to the titles are just different, not better or worse.

Today a friend helped me powerlevel a level 3 Dervish at his guild hall by letting me kill his level 20 character a bunch of times. (By This process can be done in 13 minutes by you taking your low leveled character with a guild thief and letting them kill a level 20 (unarmored) character while their Mesmer/Ritualist hero resurrects them everytime enough for you to repeat this process until you reach survivor) and I know this IS NOT illegal. It felt great starting off with this powered up character to help take on a supposedly easy area of the game. However, there is a BIG PROBLEM. The Sunspear Scouts that grants you the rights to bounty kill monsters to gain Sunspear points WON'T ALLOW ME TO and to pass the primary quest: THE HONORABLE GENERAL you need to earn the title Second Sunspear. To do so you need to gain 175 Sunspear points. Guess what? You can't and all the quests you are able to obtain only get you to earn up to 129. Without being able to complete this quest, you can not proceed with the game. It's unfair because of the time and energy put into this game. Please fix the bug. I'm going to let an entire community on Guild Wars Guru know of this sham. Please report this to the game technicians responsible and to fix such a mess. Characters can powerlevel off Prophecies and Factions, so it should be fair for those who take the time to prepare their characters fairly to have a fun time with Guild Wars. I have attached a screen shot to show some proof of this matter. |

gonna get My warrior legendary survivor title, but I play with extreme caution!
He started off in NF (I think this is bad according to Maxie's guide) I'll transfer him to Tyria to get ascended then after that go to Cantha and to echovald for redo quests....wow big adventure.....

If my character is on Prophecies, can he go on other continent for XP and achieve the title?
If I die after getting Indomitable Survivor, will I still keep the title?

Holy Warblade
if you start in Pro, you will need to reach Lions Arch first before you can visit other continents. Better to get a run from Ascalon to LA than trying to fight your way thru it.
If you die at any point after achieving any of the 3 levels of Survivor title, you still get to keep whichever title you had achieved up to that point.

Is rushing everything even worth it? For me, I intend dying faster if I try to rush through map in any mmorpg. (Ragnarok Online, PSU, etc.)
Well, I just got out from Pre-searing as lvl 12, so it shouldn't be hard since I would be grinding + quest.

Getting a friend to run you to LA should be pretty safe, but is really, mostly unessecary. Com'on prophecies isn't that hard... As long as you get good armor (the 50, 40, 30 def sets) in ascalon, and don't play with a deathwish, you should be able to fight your way to LA safely.
Ivan Darklord
Noooo! I died at lv8 well thats not far but..I have to buy the max AL armor again! Spent all my materials!
Ok...so now Im gonna start again, any tips for me? As a monk, want to the same thing as you did Maxie, which place is better to start at? Cantha or Tyria? or maybe Elona?
EDIT: Decided to get a Monk instead of warrior.

I only finshed Factions with her and did almost all the quests.
So the question is what should I do now?

The only real way to get this title is to play through the campaigns. It's challenging and fun, and you lose fewer brain cells than xp-farmers who do it just for the little words under their char's name.
Seriously, when I took my mesmer through all of Tyria and most of Cantha it got me Legendary, and it was the best PvE experience I've had in this game. Simply grinding for xp at some repeatable area is such a bore, and in the end you'll likely quit GW soon after you got the title and realize that's all it is.

Capping skills, farming, or the repeatable quests.

Hi guys, i did with my dervish.
All i did i with heroes & henchies. I dont really like to join group cuz i dont really like afk, and i dont really farming that much. ANd of course, dont wanna make survivor ppl looks bad. SO this is what i did
1. Take as many quests as u can. from elona, tyria, & cantha.
2. Cap as many elite skills you can.
3. Bring henchies - 2 healer, 1 dervish, 1 warrior
4. My Heroes - Dunkoro, Olias, & Margrid.
*Pick Acolyte Jin instead of Sousuke, and build her as barrage interupt.
*Pick Margrid instead of Master of whisper, just to avoid his mission.
*Pick norgu instead of Goren. and do Ronjok in Danger.
*Pick Menhlo, Kihm, Devona, Gehraz for my henchies and they works great.
*Pick Dunkoro, Olias & Jin or MArgrid for heroes.
*When capturing Elite Skills, try to do it ONE at a time. [Be patience]
*Try to map at the same time and you will eliminate enimies along the way.
ARmor
1. use survivor insignia & reduce blind, and anything that keeps you alive.
2. Get ferried A.S.A.P if you can to get 1k max armor.
As my build when i start is D/W, the only skill i use is Watch Yourself. But since they nerf it, i just bring cap skill every single time i go.
[Always call target and let Devona & Gehraz attack first, then u come in]
[Put Olias on defensive & dunkoro on Avoid battle]
I attached picture of my build & heroes skills and which henchies i used. Hope it might help.
*Try to get more Lightbringer Point - BEFORE u did the "Battle of Turai's Procession". I have to re-zone, just because i didnt bring LB Gaze. But i did completed that quest with heroes & henchies only (^_^). But its HARD!
*Do "F12 then ENTER" is better than ALT+F4, cuz for some reason, ALT+F4, still make your character stay for couple second longer in the game before it get logged out.
I suggest do more quest in cantha & elone better than tyria, cuz those give more XP points from quests. In kaineng, try not complete the corruption quest, so u dont have to fight most of the time in Wajjun Bazaar.
So far, my character still got 0 death and the title is still going up until i die. And i just completed the "Ronjok in Danger" mission.
Hope my guide could help people who trying to heroes & henchies all the way.

I got r3 Survivor on my Ranger, Slickshot Slim, and I pretty much did repeatable quests over and over, like FFing, and Duel of the Houses.
It took a long time doing all those quests, like one week, with a hell of a lot of play time, but I got pretty dang rich in the process, with all those quest rewards, got like 100 k.
I would recommend either capping skills, for that +5 k exp, or doing repeatable quests, FFing for example nets you 2 k exp every 2 mins, if your in a good group, and my alliance owns HzH, so we are pretty much FFing pros.
I would recommend if your FFing to use a running build just in case a point fails, so you can actually do the job of "door" rather than let people farm your exp, and plus, showing that your not a cowardly survivor can really help your standing in a group.

The only time I got the r1 Survivor was on my ranger, and only because I avoided damage anyway. And on factions where the EXP is massive, survivor really isn't too difficult to do.
