Just hoping not to see 5 sphere around his head and throw them after. For an african theme, they're really look like native american except the middle one whicg I think he looks south african style.

something I noticed from http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne...7145844&size=o

The lancer on the left has... two lances. Is this just for dramatic effect, or are these weapons dual wieldable?

I doubt it isn't so much African as what people think as it is Middle Eastern - maybe North African, which is not what everyone thinks.

And how do a Ritualist and Assassin with an Asian theme? They don't.

well, when we said North african, ppl will think Egypt. I think the professions will be apart but the the areas will be like African. They're already talked about Savannah and some monsters which they like in Africa. Well, we'll see if (im sure they will do it) they do a beta for teaser.

Is it confirmed that this is concept art for GW Chapter 3? I doubt it. Those characters look much more like Native Americans, not African at all.

Edit: With a bit of Googling I found that "Darei" (the inscription on the concept art) means "spear" in the Wheel of Time book series, and that the culture of the Aiel tribe (known as spear wielders) is similar to that of some Native American tribes. So the art may be for WoT, not GW.

It is certainly from the Factions CE art book, p114. They do not indicate whether these are new character concept classes or not there, of course.

I suspect that this is just someone posting junk on gamespot forums and it transferring here. There are other great threads there too - like; "CONFIRMED: Level cap is rising."

I'd say no, Tetris. There is nothing confirmed about this at all.

It's unfortunate that we have no idea what's going on, so I'll offer my own uninformed opinion here.

Regarding the concept art in the CE book, I sincerely doubt it's anything to do with Nightfall. I'd actually be more inclined to label it early concept art for the Luxons, since there's some Luxon art on the next few pages after it.

Regarding Nightfall itself, I would love a really dark chapter. I'm not terribly keen on the supposed white robes in the concept art described in previews, because I don't feel like those professions would fit into the game, especially if the title "Nightfall" is significant, story-wise. If the story focuses on what I and a few others here think it's going to focus on (I'm leaning in the direction of The Darkness infesting a foreign land, since we saw it during the Dragon Festival), I think some of the darker, more disturbing/nightmare-ish profession suggestions (Hollow for example) will fit.

Even though the execution of the Hollow should be revised, I think the core idea behind the profession (spiritual emptiness) is brilliant, and I've got some costume ideas in my head already.

light bulb!! anyone play Final Fantasy uumm i think it was either 8 or 10. There was a White Mage, that heals etc etc like the monk in-game and there was a Black Mage for evil magic. I don't think Ritualist actually lives up to the black mage description that I'm thinking of from Final Fantansy. Also i know the black mage in FF used the elements like the Elementalist in-game. But maybe they will introduce a caster that is the dark opposite of the monk. *shrug*

oh and i really do think that the spearmen is a major possiblity for the next profession.

p.s fair enough to ubrikkean's post below me

I think Necromancers were supposed to be the "Black Mage"-ish profession.

You know it is possible Anet might add a Spear category for Warrior's instead of just adding a new Warrior class. It would resolve some armor crafting and balancing issues for a new melee class.

Also if you look in the Concept art book there are people wielding two-handed swords and Halberds. It is my belief that some of the art there is most definitely CH 3 related. I mean they also added some Sorrows furnace stuff why not stuff for chapter 3?

If they did that then they would have to add new wepons such as a wip for ranger which proberly would be linked to beastmastery.

Warrior cant be the only proffesion getting all the new types of wepons and a artributes to chose from, so if they did that they would have to do it for other characters that are yelling out for extra artributes

After all they already have one EXTRA rune to chose from (asorbtion)

The story of this game takes place in Africa. You are a white farmer trying to defend yourself from the crazy blacks who try to invade your farm and eat your carrots.

Seing the Concept Art, i think itll have to do with some Orr (so probably some undead), but then again it says North African, which equals desert which equals Tombs Of Primieval Kings??? Maybe something with The Hall of Heroes again where an invasion takes place by the Darkness. I'd rly like to see the Orrians more as they sound/look like say Gondor, Minas Tirith, Osgiliath (from LotR). And another thing that seems cool to me is the Rifts. We did see a bit of god-like beings (those dudes with Shiro) in Factions, so we might see some more beings and places connected to the gods. Or maybe the gods come back to Tyria and cause trouble, etc,etc

Im loving it <3

Off topic but about your thinking about that

What I was thinking is in 1 chapter, we will going in HoH in PvE (For storyline, not like the Tombs) to defeat "Menzies" and the HoH will be a city which it connected to many realms.

Back to Topic

They talked about North Africa and they said we will fight in a Savannah? Something I miss here.

Damn, that sounds awesome! It's like the Postal2 of the MMORPG community... I am definitely buying this game.

With the sneak peek concluded, I pressed Strain for some answers about what I had seen, or to at least give me the expansion pack's name. He just smiled and said that he couldn't confirm or deny anything, but that I had made some pretty good guesses about the nature of Campaign 3. I couldn't even get him to commit to a release date, although he did say that now that Factions is out the door ArenaNet will be working on two expansions at a time, each to be released six months apart, so we're hoping to see Campaign 3 sometime about October 2006. Rest assured that GameSpy will continue to follow the progress of Guild Wars and its new campaigns as more information comes to light.

thats what i read on gamespot....but othe r places i read that it will come out 2007 in febuary.......

To put it simply, other places don't know sh--. As you said in your post, ArenaNet employees can not confirm, or deny, anything because of a non-disclosure agreement that is bound to their employment with the company. This means that nobody is meant to hear anything official until the company as a whole agrees to release information. This includes information on the new professions, the storyline and any release dates.

Being said, the only place that can POSSIBLY have an "official" release date is ArenaNet employees, and that is information they can not release yet. This means information posted on gaming sites is purely speculation and wild guesses. So, until you see Gaile Gray talking about the release date, or even a press release regarding the release date, don't believe a single thing you read.

The game will be done when it is done. And when it is done, you will hear about it. But until then.... speculate on.
