What is with you? I try and help this thread by attempting to kill another boss, and i get this kind of response? I'd never attempted to kill him before, and wanted to test it... Not all of us go to look on guildwiki before every boss run...

Obviously, 16 Expertise and 12 Blood Magic.

I'm not sure if this is a little off topic but I read elsewhere on these forums a quicker way to kill Ghial..The only problem is it isn't a ranger build...Let me know if you want me to post it or not.

Hey I just noticed that Chkkr Thousand Tail isnt on your list and he's easy enough for me. That probably means he's a piece of cake for most of you guys.

I've hit him too, always just assumed he was on here already, heh. I'd rate at easy-medium depending on patrol timing. a good distracting shot instead of plague touch target.
tekDragon
You see.. the reason I didnt hit him berfore was because I hadnt seen him on the list.
paranon
It say's on the list that Geoffer Pain Bringer is easy, and i guess he probably would be if you could pull him, but he sticks to his group like glue and its really hard to pull him, don't know whether i'm doing something wrong or what, but i really need his shield for my warrior, so any help would be much appreciated.

Once the Naga are gone, make sure to let Geoffer's health come back up before you touch him or you won't get credit for the kill and lose any possible drops. If he's alone by this time, then great. But if not, whatever's left of his group should be easy enough for you take down with hit and run tactics before going after Geoffer.

I'd rate at easy-medium depending on patrol timing. a good distracting shot instead of plague touch target. Just a heads-up to any of the newer touch farmers, when bringing Distracting Shot for any of the self-healing bosses like Chkkr Thousand Tail, it usually take 6 touches before they start their Troll Unguent, Healing Signet, etc. This goes for Royen Beastmaster, Wing Three Blade, and the like. So go in holding your quick-firing bow, hit your 6 touches and then be ready with Distracting Shot. Occasionally the boss may use another skill before starting their heal, so just keep an eye out. Once you hit the Distract, switch to your regular touch set and unload on em. My Sweet Revenga
Hehe. I find it kinda funny that there are like a billion complaint threads about how bad and cheap touch rangers are. Now that somebody's actually started a thread detailing how good touch rangers are at farming bosses, every whiny anti touch ranger wammo is probably gonna go make one for themselves. Unfortunately, I guess this means the touch ranger might temporarily become the new wammo.

I have a problem... Anyone has tips soloing Lorelle?
It is hard for me to get pass the elementalist mobs, they always knock me down.. even if i manage to get past them and cleared Lorelle's group of oucast, I cant kill her I can only reduce her hp to about 20% but didnt manage to kill her she is tough and his bow attack is causing me about 200 Damage Shai-hulud
I was checking some easy-to-run bosses who dropped greens and I found Razortongue Frothspit. I didn't see it on this list but I gave it a try and I succeeded to kill him. I'll check if it's repeatable but if so I would rate it easy/medium (cause it took some time + u need help of some npc's who stand near the ress portal (still solo tho))
Ok I just tried it again and u don't need the npc's, as long as there isn't a monk fishy (so only those assas, rits and the bossey) it's possible to own the assas, followed by the rits and then the boss if u walk back a bit and get part of the rock between you and all those ranged enemies... And die at start, it makes you spawn in the middle of the map, from which you can more easily reach her. As the knockdown dudes can kill you easily. Then you should run towards her group, keeping up whirling defense or lightning reflexes, kill one, and run out again. Repeat until her whole patrol is dead. Let her come to the point where she is below you. And start out with dodge. Keep your bow ready for a distracting shot on troll unguent. Touch a few times, make sure you are just touching NOT attacking, so you can keep dodge up the full time. Then go over to zojuns haste or whirling defense. Interrupt troll unguent. If you fail, run away as quick as you can and try again later. Once her troll is interupted, cycle through whirl defence, dodge, zojuns, lightning reflexes all the time. Then switch to your energy set again. And just keep touching. Use the - energy regeneration sets too, as you cannot afford waiting for energy to restore. (she will try to cast troll unguent again, and you won't have your bow ready for interrupt). I have made a movie on killing her. But due to me failing alot of interrupts, it took kind of long and the movie size is BIG... if you really want one, I can send it to you perhaps. popohim

For Lorelle, you can also come in from leviathan pit side, you can go the same route I use for Delic which is posted up above somewhere. probably only have to kill one group of outcasts pre Lorelle also
Mistical miss
I should find a build able to kill both arius and lorelle ^^

I'm having trouble with Jayne Forestlight. When he's 1/10 health left I run out of energy and sometimes forced to heal and Jayne uses Reversal of Fortune to heal herself. Any advice..?
Mistical miss
get +15-1 energy regeneration items to switch to when you run out of energy

Lennymon, are you willing to take over this thread? As we could use someone to update the opening post. If you won't do it, I will apply for the job. But I'd rather have you do it
![]() Any other people that are interested in doing it please say so! lennymon
I would, but I have a couple issues. First one is I think its pretty well finished (there may be other bosses - new frontiers, but lets leave some for folks to figure out on their own), and second one is I have absolutely no sense of organization or any related skills ;P. There are a lot of threads which continue after the relevant info has been posted, but I've never gotten the point I guess. With Hanego leaving, I'm gonna offer the opinion that we should leave this thread as a memorial. Sorry if that sounds harsh or weak, its all just my opinion.
Mistical miss
You have got a good point there... most of it is already there indeed. Perhaps we will need to work on it again when nightfall comes out

Thanks all for the thread (22 pages reading later). I started my toucher after encountering one in the PvP arenas, and though..what the heck, lets try it. Then heard you could solo bosses...heheEHAHAHAHAAH. Started with Darkroot Entropy... then Milthuran and the Stonereaper... fun stuff. Working on the multiple hits now and the "precison hits" for the more expensive greens. ;] I will bookmark and contribute later as appropriate as I enjoy farming, and my dual grandmaster cartographer ranger will be my first chara into Nightfall ;]
Mistical miss
great

Nah i'm still here... returned from a banning a couple of days ago and couldn't find the thread.
I had a go taking the ranger Ice Breaker farming... it works aslong as you can keep the agro down and keep evasive stances up. They have no healing as all so theres no worry there. Mistical miss
ah ok, guess thats another green on the list

For the few comments in this thread regarding equipment... I see everyone recommends the +hp mods, but does anybody use +5 armor to greater effect? On my warrior I prefer +5 overall and I was wondering if there's a particular reason everybody is using +hp... just to offset the health sacrifice for OoB?
lennymon
+5 armor is useless if you dodge and evade everything, +30 health is good for degen. But optimal (for me) is 3 sets: 2x20/20 blood, and 2x-1/+15 no defense or health, and a 1 of each in between. These mods are far more useful than either defense or fortitude for this build, but of the two defense is less useful.

Bagged Bzzr Wingmender last night and got the focus on the first kill! Woot! I would like to learn how to get deeper into Rheas and get Lorelle and Incetol..want his focus for my monke.... per the thread this is a team kill... are there any "meeting" times?
EDIT: Managed Byzzr, Locust Lord, and got to Brightclaw but could not kill the bug because of his dang spirit...going to have to work on it... the run is not too difficult at all, just requires a bit of patrol watching. And can someone confirm that Milthuran DOES NOT drop his staff unless he is holding it...seems I read that somwhere in the thread. Mistical miss
Bosses can drop their green at ANY time! regardless of what they are holding.
+5 armor mod = what I use, but I use the axe for running too, where +5 armor is sure good. One benefit of +armor above +health = you sacrifice less health with OoB. +health, will work as well I recon. Grats on Chkkr locust lord. Bring interrupts for brightclaw. Caged Fury
Bosses can drop their green whether or not they're holding it. Ghial always uses his green staff but don't always drop it.
I went to touch up Cultist Rajazan for his nice green. He wanded me at first to my stop my advance. But when I got up close and personal, he whipped out a Wicked Blade (I believe), I thought 'damn! he ain't gonna drop it' but I continued to touch him up anyway, and when it got too much for him, he dropped his green...Yay Me! I've just got hold of a +5 energy sword, and have yet to decide between a fortitude or armour mod for it. Zegorzalek
Thanks miss and fury... back to 5 run stints into Rheas for milt, since his staff seems to be readily in demand. Typically he holds a wicked blade, but will wand you from a distance, then swaps back to blade when you close distance. Further, has anyone else experienced the Whispering Rit Lord being stingy?
Yeah, I am debating trading in my totem axe... and getting me a sexy katana with a mod on it...though the totem has served very well. Mistical miss ![]() ![]() Zegorzalek
Xuekao and Lian have given it up, bought my katana last night helping a guildie get a phoenix. Now to find an armor mod....
WRL has refused to give me anything but scrolls, or even....exp! Stingy squid! lol Cracko
Any1 Wanna try one of those Team Kills with me?

Yeah, I am debating trading in my totem axe... and getting me a sexy katana with a mod on it...though the totem has served very well. Having killed him with this build originally and farmed him well over 100 times... i can safely say he's the stingiest boss i have ever touched. Although i wouldn't say he's anywhere close to as stingy as the Kaolin bosses... Lord Aro
Totem Axe & Forgotten Fan is easy though it takes some time.
16 Expertise 11-12 Blood Rest wherever (beast for the spirit) Used a +5nrg sword with +health. [extra slot]| Plague Touch | Distracting Vamp Bite Vamp Touch Offering of Blood * Whirling Def (can use something else) | Apply poison could work Zojoun's Haste Dodge Energizing Wind Used an odd build. Energizing Wind actually dropped the touch cost to 4, or at least it looked like it was 4. Was using Rotting Flesh but it was mainly useles so don't bother with it. The Wind Riders can get annoying with interrupt, try to fight them only starting at 100% health and energy. The skales die quickly, disease from them isn't much of a problem. Life Pods, I used an attack-skill-skill strategy. Normally only two pop up, one will just sit there and the other will spam his enchants. Not taking much damage from my sword I ignored his Holy Wrath. Attack once to reset his energy to 0 then use two skills, vamp-vamp or vamp-OoB. Repeat with the second. When three pods pop up it will take a bit longer. One could argue it's faster to use a ranged attack to just kill the behemoths and ignore the pods. But this way is fun, and it's all about touch farming ![]() Yakumo

I've switched from a Totem Axe to a +5 energy katana (definitely looks sexier
![]() I modded it with an armor pommel and a poisonous hilt. Other than the lengthen condition hilts, nothing else seemed that useful. Hopefully if I Plague Touch off poison, the duration will be extended on my target... it's not necessary to have as it's just a minor advantage (a better than nothing type thing). |
