Windoblinds is free to try, and 19? to buy, and will uninstall like any other program.

Running the 'hack' makes it so you go to display->appearance and change the theme via windows.

Windoblinds uses system resources, and WILL slow down your computer, while 'hacking' XP to allow new themes theoreticly doesn't change anything.
