Amusingly, I've owned people with elites and drok's armor using my n/w and n/me before.

And that's without elites OR drok's armor.

Superior skills doesn't mean you necessarily have the experience or skill to back them up

I thouroughly agree. Droks armor, Elites, and max dmg weapons are all intended to cheapen the experience of honest and fair play in the arena. But on the other hand I had one on my team and he was demolished by the opposing team. He literally could do no damage to them, all honest players, and sat down (/sit) to die and shameful death.

It is overrated but not a guarantee of anything. If ANET did something about it, these same nubs would go find another way to ruin PvP or some other aspect of the game.
