Elite skills locations !

No one has found Punishing Shot yet? :-/

What I have concluded: Smuk Fumbuul DOES NOT have battle rage. The people that started the thread stating that he does are lying assholes who think it's funny to waste people's time.

After fighting him SEVEN times, for around 7-15 minutes EACH time and trying ANY NUMBER of things to get him to use it I have concluded that I have been had.

As a matter of fact, any of the people who claim that they have battle rage will get THIRTY PLATINUM from me if they whisper me in game, group with me, and simply USE the skill. That's it for THIRTY PLAT.

Can I learn some elite skills in ELONA REACH? or in the next city..

i prob did the same number of tries as you and only had to stop cuz a henchy decided to force me to instance.oy.
thing is id really like the devs to explain/update us about all the elites if they did anything to them or will be doing to them..anything..to counter some of the inconsistencies about SOC/skills.

all elite skills come from bosses and you need to use "signet of capture".
use search words "signet of capture" or "soc" to get more info on it.

If you go to capture an elite skill and you already have on equipped, the one you have equipped will remain when you capture the new one. The new one will be taken off the skillbar when you get back tot town though.

Sup every one. Does anyone know where Defy Pain [Elite ] skill is. I have looked everywhere from forum to forum. When I emailed GuildWars.com they sent me this

P.S. Are there skills that haven't been put in the game?

Someone said that defy pain comes from the warrior pinesoul in frozen forest (see http://www.xennon.co.uk/eliteskills/ for a map). This is however UNCONFIRMED, so it could be inaccurate.

I've spent 2 hours seraching back and forth in snake dance trying to capture Earth Shaker from Kor Stonewrath. I've been to Xennon's site and brought the location map up and locate where I can find the boss. I'm at that location now and I cannot find that boss there.

Trust me, he appears there. I mapped the place myself. If he isn't there then u just have to zone out and in again and try again. Bosses do not always spawn, and they sometimes have multiple spawn points (tho that is the only place I have ever seen him)

While Kor Earth shaker does spawn there the mjaority of the time a griffron boss usually spawns there. most of the time Kor Spawns near Radamon the collector closer to the middle of snakes dance.

either way takes some time to get to him.

Xennon why do you still have Smuk listed as having Battle Rage? Haven't enough people wasted enough time yet? Have you personally captured the skill? It would seem he doesn't have it when 2 anonymous people say they got it from him and 20 say they've tried for countless hours to no avail.

If I were to make a scam I would make a post that I got it and then make a secondary account and back up my false story... So, let's go looking elsewhere for said skill cause it sure as hell isn't on Smuk.

Everyone who says that such and such a boss doesn't use Stance X, I have a few quotes for you.

Confirmed. I have no screenshot, but it's there for sure. I canceled the cap because I was out of skill points and needed a different skill, but the capture began.

Go to Guild-hall.net and check the forums there. There are a couple of screenshots, one of a person unlocking the skill, and another from someone else showing it in their skill bar with the popup description. While its possible these were faked, I personally believe they are true, and because of that I am leaving it on the list.

I would also like to point out that I do NOT add or alter information on my list 'just because someone said so'. I only alter info on my list for things I have seen personally, seen believable screenshots of, or been confirmed by a number of people. Even when people say 'I confirm getting this skill from XXX' that doesn't make me mark it as confirmed. While I appreciate the information, and I mark it down, I wait til I have a number of 'confirmations' before I actually confirm it on the list (so don't stop sending me confirmation mails guys :-D )

I do this to make sure that the info on the list is as accurate as possible.

P.S If you send me a screenshot of capping a skill and a map location it will be added immediatly as confirmed :-)

Sitting here at the forum with GW in windowed mode I made it just to where it is me Smukk Foombool and a healer henchman sent the rest to there deaths. Going to be at it all day just using my slow spells and my ward against melee and running away when he is almost dead to let him get hit HP back.

EDIT: After 30 minutes he has lost the will to fight he just sits on the mountain side looking off the edge doesn't care if I hit him or anything =P

Orbhit Barkwood does NOT have defy pain. I have fought him five times now. Here is why I know he doesn't have it other than the fact that he didn't use it in the 30+ minutes I have fought him.

He uses hammer bash which as you probably know makes you lose all adrenaline. Defy pain NEEDS adrenaline and therefore he can't use it. SO, during a slow fight (10+ minutes with just me and 2 healer henchies) I got to thinking maybe he won't use it because he isn't taking enough damage fast enough to make him use the emergency defy pain instead of just hammer bash?

Wrong, in a quick fight vs me and several henchies (this was the fifth and last fight) he still didnt use it. As a matter of fact he used hammer bash with his last breath which costs more adrenaline than defy pain so if he did have defy he would have used it.

So the other two guys probably starting capping endure pain and thought it was defy. Endure would make a lot more sense as it uses mana and not adrenaline and this guy burns his adrenaline.

Back to searching.

Hmm I just noticed something. Every class so far has found an elite that needs captured from thirsty river except warrior. Could it be that one of our not found ones is hiding there?

Actually no. In my many repeated trips trying to get Arkhel Havenwood to spawn, I ran into Orbhit Barkwood and got Defy Pain first time. I was a W/E and had 7 henchies with me. I initially hit him down to like 3/4 of his health, murdered the 3 Imps with him while toggling him and constantly spamming SoC, then during my fight with him he used it. Just keep trying. I'd post a screenshot but we all know how those go down.

Ugh......off to try for the sixth time.....

Muke if you have disruptive chop just randomly use some crappy axe and try to get it on his hammer bash so he can't waste his adrenline.

I do not know if this has already been discovered/posted/discussed but I just found it out for myself a few days ago. This is the area right outside of the Ember Light Camp, if it is not perdition rock please correct me!

If you are looking for skills in the area right outside of the ember light camp in the ring of fire, there is a very easy way to do it. Go directly outside of town, and make a right, run across the edge, making sure you do not draw the hydra there. Hold the key you use to show enemy names, and keep running into the flesh golems. Run at the first group, and you will see 2 more groups of names, the one on the left is where a boss spawns (either flesh golem or the variant of wind rider). You will see either a boss name with 2 or 3 minions, or just minions. If you see the name of an elite you need a skill from, run past the first group of golems, and call target on a minion near that boss (don't target the boss). The henches will run up and start attacking the minions, and you need to target but do not attack the boss. Now simply wait for the boss to use the elite and grab it. This is way way easer than fighting through the whole area.

The boss that spawns is random, so you will have to keep running or tele'ing back to town, but here is a trick for anybody with a friend/guild mate available. Simply put the 2 of you and henches in the group, have one stand still right outside of the town when you leave (so that they do not draw the hences), and have the other do the run. Find out what the boss is, tell your friend, and if either of you needs it the friend will run over. But if you don't need it, the friend can go back in town and save you the trip back and/or the time rejoining henches if you tele.

Make sure you bring the Prot and Healer henches, you don't want the hences to die, just to cause minimal damage so you can snag the elite.

I am on my college's campus right now so I can't give you pictures and details more than this, its pretty easy to figure out but I will try to put more detail into it.

As a Mo/Me I was able to get (in one night):
Amity
Martyr (bring a hexer hench, cultist)
Signet of Midnight
Power Block

because he killed him right after he got the skill, apparently. It seems like he uses it when he has very low health if it's true that he has it. Someone came into Thunderhead Keep the other night boasting about how he just got 3 of his elite skills in one run through Snake Dance. Paraphrased conversation:

him: i just got battle rage, earthshaker, and something else in 1 run through snake dance
me: who'd you beat battle rage out of? :P
him: kor
him: no wait, a giant
him: er troll
me: a troll or a giant?
him: smuuk
him: troll
him: kor has earthshaker
me: how'd you get him to use it?
him: he used it when he got down to 25% health
him: just spam soc

Zfactor. hold alt as you're leaving the Ember Light Camp. you'll see a sign post that says "Perdition Rock". that is the area you speak of.

Update on Orbhit Barkwood - He does *not* use defy pain. Me and a few warriors went out and got to him. We all had disrupting chop. Nearly the whole fight he was without hameer bash (and therefore had ample adrenaline to use defy pain). Further we removed his healing signet with disrupting as well. So, he had the adrenaline to use the skill and he also had no other way of healing himself and still did not use the skill. The fight went on for around 15 minutes with us ocasionally knocking him lower in health to check and make sure if he would use it based on a %health req. No good there either. Also, after about 10ish minutes he simply stops using healing signet altogether.

Guys, here's the thing for those that know anything about programming. A lot of it, especially AI scripts are as follows. If X happens then Y. If Y happens then Z etc.

If he can't heal and has adr but cant hammer bash then = defy pain. It TRULY is THAT simple.

I don't doubt that people have gotten it from him. However, that zone has been patched to hell over the past couple of weeks to anyone that doesn't know. For example, the arcanists now use crippling anguish where they did not previously. Some other small tweaks I've noticed as well but my point stands. So if he did have it he doesn't now.

Hey, I just got Defy Pain literally 10 minutes ago from Orbhit Barkwood, don't have a screenshot or anything but I used disrupting chop on him. I think it's very hard tocap, because it seemd to me that he used it right before he used healing sig, and healing sig doesn't take too long to cast. It took me probably 7 tries to get it from him, but this was my first try with disrupting chop.

I think that you might need to use disrupting chop because it only takes 6 adrenaline while defy pain takes 7, so it seems like the boss will use hammer bash before it'd use defy pain for this reason.

the bosses name for punishing shot is "Ivan or Ivor Frostshot" or something along that. Apparently he is in traveleres vale, outside yaks bend. as i was going to get him, that boss seem to have dissappeared or something...the area was nerfed. search travelers vale ppl, i know im going to.

Yeah it is in snake dance, Kor Stonewrath has it, or at least that's where and who I got it from.

Yep Earthshaker is still in Snake Dance from Kor the big stupid giant who never wants to spawn close to the start untill you kill him and not get the skill because you got knocked down

Though I have no proof I have no doubt warriors endurance is in thristy river because he is the only boss there with no elite found so far and all elites there are unquie to thristy river and elona.

Obrhit Barkwood just used defy pain and me and a friend got it. Here's the lowdown on our seventh and finally succesful try:

Must bring disrupting chop. You need to disrupt hammer bash. Every five normal swings means the sixth will be hammer bash (assuming he has ample life). So, when he hits you five times, hit disrupting chop so that you disrupt his sixth attack which will be hammer bash. You MUST do this VERY early in the fight, he will use defy pain when he drops to about 75% life *IF HAMMER BASH* has been disrupted. If you take him too much below that just run away, let him heal up, and start over. Just make sure to disrupt hammer bash early and then mash signet.

My friend kept missing it so I had to get him to do it multiple times. Of the four times he cast it it was always around or above 75% health. Near the beginning of the fight. I hope this helps.

Any more news on Warrior's endurance? I brought my mesmer friend to the custidian guy in elonas, but still no luck, don't know what else to try, anyone else have suggestions?

Damnit melty I JUST got done doing the same thing and was coming here to post about it. :P

Me and you should hook up in game if we're going after these skills.

Anyway, the fight was about 15 minutes or so and I had the mesmer drain energy totally. He did this when dellus was near full health, again at 75% , 50%, 25%, and 5%. I was also spamming Fear Me. Warriors Endurance costs mana so occasionally I'd tell him to stop draining completely and I'd do the same and then I'd go back to spamming SoC. No go whole time.

This doesnt necassarily disprove that he has it. If I've learned anything from skill capture thus far it's that Anet needs to pull their heads out of their asses and make this easier...er I mean I've learned that it takes multiple times for them to use the skill. :P
