Another stupid noob mistake....found a nice fire staff/wand thingy. It's purple. Immediately had it customized.

But your pants still make me laugh, Zeus. I at least have all my clothes on.

Clicked on a kit to identify an uber purple longbow drop...only to realize after i hit the bow that I had clicked on my expert salvage git..not my identify kit...ended up with nothing but wood....what might ahve been.

Only thing I can think of off the top of my head was upgrading my armor in Draknors Forge, salvaging my pants because I thought I had enough cash to buy the new ones, and then noticing the little platinum symbol in front of the gold...yeah, I was selling things pantsless for quite some time.

responding to a PvP *WE WANT IT ALL, BABY!!!* thread.
I can close to being pantsless once but I keep enough garbage sitting around to sell so I just barely had enough to buy new ones. I just needed on more piece of raw hide...honest
I also left town quite a few times without reloading up on salvage kits. Talk about a squirmy decision process of what to keep, etc.

Hmm does salvaging runic hammer gets you runes?

I bought a superior vigor rune for 17,000 XD
...and then quickly sold it back out for 16,800 after I realized how little 9hp is worth.
-edit-
Oh, and I went all the way through ascension with 30AL armor. Somehow I managed through while taking 166% damage.
-edit2-
burned 200g going into the underworld with just 1 guildie before level 20 trying to capture an elite skill.
He had life bond on me, and I was in my gimp 30AL armor. Lv29 creature comes up, hits me twice, we both die simultaneously.

Making what I thought was a great character, a monk/el. Getting all the way to Droknar's Forge, thinking I could afford the best armor, and then trying to buy the resources needed to make the level 20 armor. Well, I sold everything but the leg tats. Oh, and had a holy rod that only does 6-9 dmg, and using that since pre-searing because for the life of me I cannot find decent monk weapons that are 1 handed and not require massive smite skill.
Well, I transferred everything to storage, and now that monk is d-e-d. I get to remake it, and not skip 1/4 of the quests, spend so much money just going to skill trainers rather than doing the quests, and not just spend cash willy nilly. At least I have a vague idea where things are now.
Kinda sad too, cause I think I had a decent healing monk. Oh well, learn the hard way

Got to level 6 before I found that if you hit the 'H' key, you could look at your hero and assign points as needed. I can't believe I did that.
Invested in all new armor, right before traveling to Yak's Bend that has even better new armor.

I have to say, I have salvaged a ton of stuff accidentally. Not to mention selling items accidentally....like my expert salvage kit.
I could use an undo button.
Heck, I bought Gwen the cape hoping she would look more tasty for the wolf....what tapestry?

lol. Its good to know I'm not the only one with noob problems.
Me, I just suffered from a mistake at the Temple of Ages
I just got in after failing to locate some necro for a mission and my party wanted to take a break, and find a village to recover from our Death Penalties, so we were led into the Temple. As soon as we got in, I saw this gigantic transparent Spirit-ish thingy and, out of curiosity, I clicked on it.
Immediately a loading screen appeared before my eyes, and I had to wait like 5-10 minutes for the patch, and when it finished...
I was dead. As soon as I regained control I saw my mes/nec dead on the ground, with two level 24 Shadow Warriors looming over my corpse, and a level 28 Shadow-something a little way off.
And THAT, boys and girls, was how I discovered the Fissure of Woe. In our next lesson, we learn about The Underworld!

scorp,
I should've used the expert kit for a better chance of the rune.

the dumbest thing i ever do... well
its a mission that i did, i was a level 11 W/E and i team up with a level 12 N/E and we went on the mission for altheas ashes. There were bunch of charrs protecting the ashes and we kill about 15 of them. But there were a load guarding the ashes. Two shaman and mulitple charrs axe fiend so we try to lure and kill them but it didn't work. After getting a 35% DP, i decided to just run up there and grab the ashes.. and it work... got the ashes, quest completed and 1000exp for me

I'm at work and I can't stop laughing! I think I lucked out because I was curious about who he was before I got a pet. I am actually tearing up I was laughing so hard.
Although, I have seen a lot of people asking how to get rid of pets.

I have made similar mistakes to these listed. For example:
1. Just today, I picked up a really nice purple axe. I tried to identify it, but by mistake clicked on my Expert Salvage kit instead of the Identification kit.
2. I once found a truly powerful wand, which I salvaged by mistake.
3. A long time ago, I had a number of Charr Hides that I was going to make fur from. In selling, I by mistake clicked too fast and sold them.
4. In the Fort Ranik mission, I was right by the end and was looking for the final wreckage to find the last component to the ballista. I saw one in the army of Charr, and thought that was it. It was only when I had died and I was being returned that I noticed it somewhere else.

This just happened to me yesterday. I was playing my 10th level Mo/R in Ascalon City arena, and wanting to be the good healer, I'd cranked up the healing attributes before going in.
Four hours into PvP battles, I ran up to a teammate that was low on health cause I had this cool skill that would heal for lots of points. I find him in this slugfest with about 6 other people. Cool, I'm thinking, and click the skill and instantly see seven +100's pop up in blue above our heads. I'm thinking "that was a lot of 100s". We only have 4 people on our team.
I roll my mouse over the skill used and see...
Heal Area - Spell Heal yourself and all nearby creatures for 30-150 points.
That's right, for the last few hours I'd been healing everybody. I'm such a good monk.

I'm not sure if it's even in the manual but figured out the following yesterday:
* That you may only apply one rune of one kind and achieve any sort of benefit. Hence, 1 superior fire rune and 2 major fire runes do no more than lower your health to almost nothing; despite the TWO Major Vigor Runes that you have also applied to your armour.
*That now that you have learned this mistake you need to salvage your armour to get the runes out to sell.
* That now that you have salvaged your armour and sold the runes you need to buy new armour and, you guessed it, re-do the infusion run! Thank god it's only once now.
Please learn from this, it cost me a lot of gold to learn this lesson.
My only other advice would be don't get drunk and play the game cause you do things like buy superior air runes while being completly sure that it says fire, oh and salvaging great gold items that you are sure you could never sell or use. Then wondering where they have gone when you log on again - Doh!

yeah that's true, but I didn't consult anyone about how much something like that would cost, that was really my stupid moment.. If I KNEW it was worth that much and then sold it for 1K cuz I didn't have room / got tired of people saying their weapon is better or offering 20 gold for it, then it wouldn't have been stupid lol

When i first got to post-searing on the first mission right after getting there the other fellow in my party dropped. So i go exploring the area with the two others. We're going along killing stuff and their not picking up their loot. I keep asking them if they're gonna grab that stuff and they don't reply.
I'm thinking do i grab their stuff or leave it? This goes on for about an hour before i realized that Henchman meant bot. I felt so stupid but ran back and grabbed all the loot.
Salvaged alot of things instead of id'ing.
used the wrong salvage kit on about 5 different colored drops before i realized my mistake.
deleted a char before putting his gold in the vault, that was painful.
deleted a char after getting to post-searing without a res sig not knowing i could buy one at the skill trainer and having to redo pre-searing to get one.
fought my way through a really bad area to get to a rare materials trader dying numerous times only to realize later that there's one right outside fort ranik.

My mistake? not many.
I made a mistake being the healer monk of the group when we encountered a pack of Bone Dragons. "Oooh....bone dragons! I must have a screenshot!"
at this time, i zoom in on one bone dragon, and don't see anymore that my party is moving in on another couple of bone dragons.
I scream:"Watch the birdy!" in chat. meanwhile, my group is completely sloughtered without healing.
They laughed at the 'watch the birdy', and i had some taunts coming at me after i ressed them. i had it coming.

I'm still LMAO at DarkZeus.

I bought two minor devine favor runes because some guy told me it would work.

I also sold a minor fire rune for 2 thousand gold somehow (stupid buyer). I love when there are two people bidding for the same item.

I like the "they beat me down like a tied up circus monkey."
That's just a very amusing picture for some reason
My most annoying thing I ever did was, when the rune trader just opened, I bought a Major Energy Storage rune, for like 3plat. Transferred it to my El, but didn't use it because I didn't get the Major vigor to offset the health yet.
Eventually, due to the rune trader being a git, I take a minor energy storage and a major energy storage over there to check on prices. He offers me 25 for it (for both actually).
Without really thinking about it, I just click sell.
Errr... I didn't want to do that...

Heh, a few idiotic things i did:
1. When doing the Piken Square Escort mission, i ran straight into piken square before the escort group arrived [suppose to stop before the gate]....had to redo the mission.
2. In a very sensitive mission with lots of Towers, i used Tab to select the next target, instead i select a target on the other side of the tower......i not only run halfway into the tower-army but alert the entire white mantle patrols into wasting our entire group.
3. On a mission with a poisonous swamp, we are right on the ending, just need to kill the boss, im the last one alive and a rez signet. Im poisoned and standing in the swamp and everyone screaming "run run run! get out of the swamp!" ...i die with the sentence
"wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww wwI CANT MOVE!!!" appearing in the team window.....
4. Using Necrotic Traverse to teleport into a ravine in the Desert to take a shortcut into Salt Flats. I die instantly at the hands of some centaurs and my henchies standing on the cliff edge unable to rez....had to redo the entire map.
5. Changing my attributes points mid-mission , not only to run out of attrib-setpoints but have them in skills that weren't on my skillbar....[and only then did i realise i have a limit on attrib point changes ]
